"You could say that."

Although I tried to seem like I didn’t care much, I was beyond curious.

I an... This is the righteous main character. His grandfather was also a really big part of his life, so for him to die and kick off the canon events... I guess that just doesn’t make any sense to ?

And so, seeing my curious look, Kevin let out a chuckle and said:

"Who knew that the person who had been training for all this ti was actually not even related to ?"

I tilted my head.

"What’s the difference? Surely, if the old man was with you since you were born and cared for you like a grandfather, it wouldn’t make much of a difference, would it?"

He nodded.

"That was the case until I got a lot older. But as it turns out, he was the person who killed my parents. Also, the only reason he was keeping alive and caring for was because the leaders of his organization were trying to turn into their weapon."

With those words, Kevin stabbed forward at the boulder. Just this ti, he didn’t hold back in the slightest.

And to my surprise, the wooden sword shattered on impact, sending splinters all around. Yet Kevin didn’t even budge an eye.

"When you said my swordsmanship’s only ant to please the eyes... You were right. The swordsmanship was never complete. It was a joke taught by my grandfather that I believed up until a few months ago, when I was in a near life-and-death situation."

"It showed just how useless this swordsmanship really is."

"..."

To call the swordsmanship that killed so many demon kings useless was a little... odd.

Maybe way too odd. But I knew for a fact that whatever realization he had co to, he had also co to it in the ga, just maybe a little later.

But as for his grandfather...

"I still have no clue why you killed him. Is it because you realized he’s a part of that organization?"

Kevin nodded slightly.

"That was a very small part of it. The other was that he had so kind of artifact that he’d use to zap away the Gifts of people. At first, it would only make them weaker, but..."

He shivered slightly.

"My Gift was almost sohow extracted into that artifact. If that actually happened, then every single person who was unlucky enough to end up with a weak Gift or no Gift at all would’ve had my Gravity Manipulation Gift."

"So he was like a revolutionary?" I asked.

Then, I approached him.

"Do you happen to know the na of his organization?"

Kevin shook his head.

"When I found out about the artifact, I killed him in his sleep. I ran afterward. He was way too strong for to ask questions like that."

"And you think he just let you kill him?"

At my words, Kevin froze for a mont.

"What do you an?"

I rolled my eyes.

"Do you think the man who had his hands on such an artifact would actually let his guard down enough to the point where even you could kill him? No offense, but what were you, Grade 3? I can assure you, he’s not dead."

He narrowed his eyes at .

"I stabbed him through the heart."

Yeah.

Sure you did.

If Kevin watched nearly as many dramas and anis as , he’d know that he had just triggered a future death flag.

Or I guess, a villain?

Either way, if I think about it as though they were revolutionaries, there’s only a few groups that ring a bell. Only one group out of the bunch that actually has the resources to get such an artifact.

The Midnight Rose.

...I guess it’s no surprise Kevin has such a shit naming sense if he was entangled with such an organization.

Either way, I dusted myself off and tapped his shoulder.

"Keep on training. Use another sword as well. Screw these wooden swords."

With that, I snapped my wooden sword as well before tossing it to the ground.

"You were feeling guilty for no reason, in my opinion. Either way, I’m expecting you to pick up Sword Intent by morning light. If not, then you’re really an untalented bum."

Sure, I tossed that in there just for the sake of it, but clearly, seeing his angry expression, I managed to piss him off considerably.

Chuckling at that, I patted his back and decided to take a walk.

Rather, I decided to first approach Clentine, who was... well, having a hard ti.

"That’s the wrong note."

"Wrong note? You can shove all of those notes up your ass for all I care."

lina scoffed.

"All of this is stupid. If I wanted to practice my vocals, I’d just eat a mint or sothing."

"That doesn’t even make sense..."

Clentine let out a sigh and turned toward .

"Do you want to take over or help?"

I smiled.

"Nope. She’s all yours."

A defeated expression appeared across her face. Even so, she got back into it, singing all sorts of notes and trying to teach them to lina.

On the other hand, Isabelle and Morr were having a different training session.

Since Morr was talking directly into her mind, I had no idea what it was saying. However, it seed like Isabelle also talked back to him inside her mind.

I kind of thought that I could do that, but I never really tried.

Still...

She has a lot more energy than earlier.

Not only that, glancing into her heart slightly, I could feel so kind of Guardian slowly manifesting.

Usually, it would take a lot longer for her to get sothing like that. Hell, she didn’t even have a manipulation Gift, so it shouldn’t be possible in the first place.

But clearly, Morr’s way of teaching included helping her form a contract with a Guardian.

Although I never thought that was possible, I appreciated Morr for doing it, as her strength would increase significantly.

Nonetheless, I guess there’s not much else to do here.

Training’s mostly always boring. Especially when I’m not the one training.

...Though.

What’s actually stopping from training?

I pondered over it for a mont, then nodded to myself.

Atomic Telekinesis included four main techniques, as well as a fifth that I rember being labeled as not that important.

So far, I’ve mastered Atomic Stabilization and Atomic Destabilization.

...Now, I needed to learn Atomic Energy Suppression.
