"AAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Adam flailed around as lightning coursed throughout his body, waking him up very, very effectively.
Or so that was what I thought, when all of a sudden, he tossed the bottle of alcohol right at my face. Obviously, my Control Field managed to slow it down considerably. More than considerably, rather, as I felt the Divine Energy’s influence in the Control Field.
It overwheld the bottle, and to my genuine surprise, it caused the bottle to just disappear. I tried to see where it went, only to realize that the bottle was teleported several feet away.
Almost like the Divine Energy subconsciously tapped into my knowledge of Spatial Telekinesis and made it disappear. It was a bit strange, and maybe even a little bit scary.
Could this energy act independently?
I didn’t have enough proof yet, as I was still just learning how to use it, but despite that, with the bottle disappearing and Adam still flailing around like an idiot, I decided to finally stop using my Black Lightning Manipulation.
His charred body twitched on the ground, yet despite the cruel theatrics, he wasn’t even injured. In fact, I spotted him reaching for so sort of poisonous needle in his bag, as if trying to gain the upper hand by poisoning .
He was stupid, so before he could do anything stupider, I decided to just break his neck and then quickly snap it into place. He was dazed, but frankly, that was enough for him to snap out of his idiocy and glance at .
"Amon...?"
"Sup." I waved at him. "Feeling awake now?"
He stared at for a mont, then sighed.
"I apologize for my behavior. No, why in the fuck did you snap my neck, bastard?"
Oof.
"You’re a potty mouth now? For soone who’s supposed to be this Divine Healer, I’d expect a lot more etiquette out of you," I said.
He didn’t really mind my insults, nor did I mind his. Still, he did use this banter to get a hold of himself and finally stand up. He glanced around, pouting that his whole house had disappeared.
Yet the mont his eyes locked onto Aliyah’s broken body, his whole energy shifted. His eyes darkened, and his expression paled considerably.
"...She’s alive?"
I tilted my head and listened in.
"I thought... She promised she’d co et after handling her business. She never breaks a promise. I thought she died..."
Huh.
"Well, she’s about to be dead if you don’t help her," I chid in.
He flinched, realizing the severity of the situation.
"You’re right. Did anyone perform so ergency treatnt on her?"
"Only Clentine. I’m not sure why she didn’t handle the rest, but I’m sure she had a good reason for it."
Adam scratched off all his earlier nervousness and approached Aliyah, crouching down beside her. She didn’t say anything, but even though she didn’t have eyes, her cheeks told she was smiling. It was obvious she had overheard what he had just said.
Because of that, she was much more at ease, to the point where I felt it was right for to release my Telekinesis, allowing her body to return to normal and for Adam to inspect it more properly.
He enveloped her body in so form of energy, much like what I had seen Clentine do. Except his was much purer, and if that wasn’t enough, I felt a healing aura wash over her body over and over again, attempting to heal her injuries.
But alas, he wasn’t very successful, only managing to heal so minor bruises and restore her eye sockets slightly. He backed off and reassessed the situation. Only then did his expression sour further.
"I see... I understand why my disciple couldn’t heal her completely," he said, then added:
"She has Demonic Poisoning, plus her limbs were cut off with Aura instead of energy. Aura wounds are much more volatile, and so they require surgical precision to heal, and... a lot of rare materials to make the potions required."
"My disciple likely didn’t have the resources, so at the very least, she stabilized Aliyah’s condition. Had she not done that, she would’ve already been dead."
I see...
"What are the rare materials you need? I might rember the locations of so of them," I said.
He t my gaze, then shook his head. "I know exactly where the materials are. It’s just that getting them is a little tricky, because the location is very delicate."
Delicate?
"How delicate?"
"Have you heard of the Fountain of Eden?" he asked.
Fountain of Eden...
I thought over it for a mont, feeling like that sounded a bit familiar. Finally, I rembered.
I had never visited that place as Kevin, but I did hear several snippets of lore about it. It was a location where very tall humans resided. They went by the titles of Giants or even Titans. Titans were a bit more respected, since unlike the Giants, who were at most 10 ters in height, Titans were 50 ters or higher.
But their history was much more confusing. They weren’t like the Angels, who were secretly a cursed species. Instead, they were beings that had appeared out of nowhere. Genetics, maybe?
Though, whatever the case may be, they hated humans, demons, and everything in between. They ruled over the Fountain of Eden, and their power was nothing short of impressive.
Even after so many centuries and maybe even millennia, they had never been overrun. So yeah, when he ntioned that the location was delicate, he was most definitely not lying.
"So what do you want from there?" I asked.
He pondered over it for a mont, then began listing so ingredients.
"Two purified radishes, 5 liters of water directly from the Fountain of Eden, and lastly, the heart of a Titan."
Aha.
"Well, I haven’t been sent on a death mission in a while, I guess," I remarked, glancing back at Aliyah.
"But if it ans I can help her out, I’ll do it. Tell where the Fountain of Eden is located."
