"We’re here."

Clentine tilted her head slightly.

"Isn’t this what you call a library?"

Well, obviously.

"It wouldn’t be very hidden if it was out in the open, would it?"

"Mm... You’re right."

She glanced at the door.

"So these people take requests for money and kill other people?"

I gave her a little explanation on the way over.

And yeah.

"That’s the gist of it."

"I see. It sounds pretty convenient."

It was.

Though there was also a teeny tiny problem here...

"Are you sure you don’t want to put the wig back on?"

"You said we’re leaving after visiting the assassin’s guild. It’ll still be night ti when we leave."

It looked like she just didn’t want to take the hairpin off.

It’s fine.

A few more eyes on us won’t kill us.

So after explaining so basic library etiquette to her, we stepped inside.

On the outside, this was just a regular library.

However, the aisle with the sci-fi thriller books wasn’t exactly there for people to co and read.

As I t eyes with the librarian, I gave him a quick nod and continued ahead.

I eventually reached the aisle with the sci-fi thriller books, and after picking a random book from the fifth row, I brought it to the librarian.

He looked up and down.

"Would you like to rent or buy?"

"Buy."

"Hmm... When do you plan to return this book?"

"As soon as possible."

In short, this was one of those annoying codes to get the request’s information.

I had morized it, since I thought if I gave the best assassin guild a few million gold coins, they might just go ahead and kill all the demon kings.

I was a little wrong.

They took my money and created ten ghost organizations instead.

Though in their defense, a million gold might’ve been a bit overkill...

On another note, it didn’t look like they were going to scam this ti around.

"Write down the nas of everyone you want gone. I will notify you of the price imdiately."

He passed the sa book, and also ink and a quill.

I had thought about this as well, and I wrote down the nas of 25 nobles.

I knew all those nas by heart, as those pieces of shit were responsible for the demons getting so much leverage on the humans.

Before the descent of the demons, and after.

Not only that, I knew that asking to have so many nobles killed would put on the radar of Johan Ranvier, the leader of this guild.

Unlike the novels I read, I wasn’t suicidal enough to waltz into a dangerous organization and call out their leader.

If anything, in the perfect route, I wouldn’t even need to et him so long as he could fulfill my requests.

So after passing the book back to the librarian and having him quickly skim through it, I was t with the obvious reaction.

"Are you sure you can afford this many?"

I shrugged.

"Na the price."

He stared at for a few seconds, then scribbled a number.

It was high.

19,300 to be exact.

All of that was in gold.

But knowing who I had asked to be killed, I felt like this was cheap.

So I took out 19 platinum bars and 300 gold coins from my dinsional ring, then placed them on the desk.

The librarian didn’t even flinch at the amount as he imdiately stored the money.

"Your requests will be fulfilled within the span of two weeks."

That’s it.

I nodded at him and turned around.

Clentine’s gaze lingered on the librarian for a few seconds longer, and she soon followed after .

But just as we were about to leave, the librarian’s calm voice rang out.

"Would you like to leave your na, so we can inform you when the requests have been carried out?"

I scoffed.

"There’s no need to act like you don’t already know who the two of us are. But don’t worry, this isn’t a one-off. I’ll visit the branch in Aldrazaan soon."

"..."

"We are looking forward to your extended patronage, Amon Everness, and we await your arrival in the Aldrazaan branch."

Gosh...

He sounded a little creepy just now.

But this was that kind of organization.

Else, they wouldn’t be killing people for money.

The two of us finally left, and as we silently strode through the city, we eventually stopped by a couple of inns.

Despite how fit Clentine was, she was a real glutton.

She ate nearly ten tis the amount of food I did.

And yet, she still seed hungry.

Was it because she hadn’t eaten much human food before?

Since I had money to spare, the two of us went from inn to inn throughout the entire night, eating all the food we could find.

And by the ti the sun had co up, we were already outside the city, hovering slightly above the clouds.

"I still have around two weeks before I need to get back," I said, floating aimlessly.

Clentine floated not too far away as she tried to bite down on the cloud, only for her face to sink inside it.

I let out a chuckle, and then gave my mories a quick little refresher.

In contrast, the tiline right now was still considered really early ga.

The extrely good stuff only appeared after the demons descended.

The dragon heart and the unbreakable material were the top two best things I could’ve gotten.

There were still a few good items, like the wings of a dragon, the sword of the sword god... but I didn’t need any of them.

I could fly, and swinging a sword wasn’t how I wanted this life to go.

So instead, I decided to accept reality.

There were plenty of pills scattered throughout the continent that could boost my stats by a bit.

And since I knew the locations of every single one, I should be able to reach Grade 10 if I consud them all.

That would put way ahead of the canon tiline, and I would be better prepared for the headmaster’s project.

So as I turned toward Clentine, who was being silly, I decided to relay my plans to her.

She agreed without hesitation.

"..."

What happens after I go back?

Would she go back too?

I didn’t want that.

Was I too selfish?

No...

"Clentine..."

So what if I’m selfish?

"When I return to Aldraazan, do you want to move in and live with ?"
