No food expenses?! No rent?! No debt?!

If Maeve still thought going back to Earth was the better choice, then she might actually be the dumbest human alive.

Seriously, who would willingly spend the rest of their life paying rent every single month?!

Sure, having children sounded terrifying, but compared to the luxury of not paying for anything, it suddenly didn’t seem that bad at all.

"Then what are we waiting for?!" Maeve clapped her hands once and spoke with sparkling eyes. "Let’s make children now!"

[Side Mission has been triggered!]

[Side Mission: Receiving the seed of life from Ikarus!]

[Condition: Do it within 24 hours.]

[Reward: Lumivale Forest Map — Reveals hidden locations, ancient ruins, and safe paths inside the forest.]

Maeve was about to think more about the mission, but her thoughts instantly broke apart when she heard Ikarus say, "Right now?"

She froze and quickly widened her eyes as realization hit her like a truck.

’Wait... make children now?!’ Maeve scread internally. ’Did I just ask him to have sex with right this second?! No, no, wait... Pinky literally told to get his seed today too!’

Honestly, Maeve didn’t even understand herself anymore. Just yesterday, she was still wondering whether she should stay in this world or not.

But now? Now she was suddenly thinking about getting bred by a ridiculously handso alien.

[Well, Host, there’s nothing wrong with living in a world where you don’t have to struggle just to survive,] Pinky said casually. [This world may be dying, but at least they’ll treat you like a goddess.]

Yeah, think about that, Maeve!

In her old world, she was nothing more than a rookie officer whose grades were barely passing. Her parents had died, and her uncle had taken over her parents’ inheritance.

So honestly... why was she even thinking about going back there in the first place?

"I-I don’t know!" Maeve finally blurted out. "I just... I was speaking without thinking! I an... maybe you want to do it later or—"

"I can do it now," Ikarus interrupted calmly.

His golden eyes locked onto Maeve’s face with such a serious look that her heart instantly skipped a beat.

"I want to do it now," he said.

Maeve’s eyes widened so much that it looked like they might pop right out of her sockets. "Now? Don’t you want to think about it a little longer? I an... I’m not in a hurry."

"I’m in a hurry," Ikarus answered without even hesitating.

Maeve twitched slightly because this alien seriously looked like he didn’t want to wait another second.

[Don’t forget to drink your potions, Host! The Golden Potion’s effect can last forever, while the other two will wear off after one day.]

Maeve paused for a mont, trying to rember which one the golden potion was, before suddenly smacking her forehead.

Right. It was the potion that could shape her body so she could handle her mates’ proud pillars.

First of all... why did Pinky keep calling them proud pillars anyway? What exactly were they so proud of?!

"You don’t want it now?" Ikarus asked quietly, lowering his head a little. He didn’t look angry at all. Instead, he looked... sad, maybe even disappointed.

For so reason, Maeve felt that his sad face looked convincing enough.

[Co on, Host!] Pinky floated around her noisily, practically yelling into her ear. [Isn’t the reward from this side mission super tempting?!]

[You could find a lot of useful things if you get that map!]

Annoyingly enough, Pinky actually had a point.

Even though Maeve knew that damn pink ball was obviously trying to push her into having sex with an alien, the words still managed to convince her a little.

"If I agree—"

QUACKK!

Maeve’s mouth was still open, but she never got the chance to finish her sentence because a huge—no, REALLY HUGE—bird suddenly appeared in the sky above them.

It looked exactly like one of those terrifying birds from the dinosaur era. What was the na again? Quetzezeze—

[It’s Quetzalcoatlus, Host,] Pinky interrupted before she could add another hundred "ze."

Yeah, whatever.

QUACKK!

"AAAAAH!! It wants to eat us!" Maeve scread the mont she realized the giant bird was staring at them like they were prey.

Without even thinking, she quickly moved closer to Ikarus and tightly grabbed his large arm.

"Yes, it wants to eat us," Ikarus replied calmly.

Maeve could only stare at him in disbelief. How was he still this calm?!

"T-Then why aren’t we running right now?!" Maeve shouted in frustration.

"Because it would be useless," Ikarus replied calmly. "Once it locks onto its prey, it will keep chasing that target without stopping."

Maeve’s eyes widened in pure horror. "So we’re seriously going to die now?!" she cried out.

She quickly looked around, only to realize there was nowhere to hide at all. They were basically standing in the middle of an open field, and if that giant bird wanted to, it could swoop down and eat them imdiately.

"We haven’t even mated yet, and I’m really going to die as a virgin again?!" she blurted out without thinking.

Ikarus slowly turned to look at her.

Maeve froze the second she realized what had just co out of her mouth.

"You’ll agree to mate with ?" Ikarus asked, his eyes suddenly lighting up.

Maeve imdiately covered her mouth with both hands. Her face turned red so fast that it almost burned.

"No! I an—that’s not what I ant!" she cried out in embarrassnt. "I just—I an—ugh!"

[Host, that was a very strange thing to say,] Pinky comnted helpfully.

’You are NOT helping!’ Maeve scread internally.

QUACKK!

The giant bird suddenly dove straight down from the sky.

Maeve scread and imdiately shut her eyes, clutching Ikarus’s arm tightly as the enormous creature rushed toward them at terrifying speed.

Dust exploded into the air as the beast flapped its massive wings. The strong wind nearly knocked Maeve off her feet if she hadn’t been holding onto Ikarus so tightly.

Then the creature opened its huge beak and lunged at them, clearly planning to swallow them whole.

"IKARUS, DO SO—"

CRACK!
