Transmigrated Into a Tribal World: My Alien Husbands Spoil Me Too Much Chapter 41: The Tomb of Heart (2)
That sounded simple in theory. In reality, walking perfectly straight over such a long distance without any tools was nearly impossible.
But for Axan, it seed to be as easy as stealing candy from his brothers. He didn’t even look worried as he fixed his gaze on the far wall and started moving forward. It was almost as if he had already drawn an invisible line in his mind and was simply following it.
Maeve followed right behind Axan, but after only a few steps, Ikarus suddenly picked her up again.
"There are too many sharp rocks here," he said. "I’m worried you’ll hurt your feet."
Honestly, he had a point. The ground was covered with rough stones and broken rocks, and the last thing she needed was to cut her foot in the middle of nowhere.
So Maeve didn’t argue. She simply settled comfortably in his arms and let him carry her.
Besides... After being spoiled by the triplets for so long, she was starting to get used to it. Maybe a little too used to it.
For so reason, walking on her own was beginning to feel like unnecessary work. Still, a small worry lingered in the back of her mind.
She just hoped they would never see her as a burden.
[They won’t, Host!] Pinky suddenly interrupted her thoughts.
The fluffy pink mochi jumped through the air and landed on Ikarus’s shoulder, looking completely shaless as it made itself comfortable there. It was almost as if it wanted a free ride too.
[You weigh nothing to them.]
She probably didn’t need to worry about gaining weight. No matter how heavy she was, her alien mates could still lift her without any trouble.
One of the many benefits of having three ridiculously strong n as mates. Certainly better than those weak n who started complaining the mont their partner gained a single pound.
After walking for a while, they finally reached the other side of the riverbed. Axan imdiately began tapping along the rocky wall, carefully moving from one spot to another while doing his best to stay in a perfectly straight line.
His expression remained calm and focused, as if he were following an invisible path that only he could see. anwhile, the others watched quietly, waiting to see if his calculations were correct.
For several minutes, the only sounds were the soft taps of Axan’s knuckles against the stone wall and the faint crunch of rocks beneath their feet.
Knock.
Solid.
He took another step.
Knock.
Still solid.
Maeve had briefly wondered if the second entrance had already disappeared over ti, but then the sound of Axan’s knocking changed. It was only a small difference, yet everyone heard it.
Axan imdiately stopped moving. After studying the wall for a mont, he took a few steps back.
"I’m not sure whether the door is supposed to be pushed open or slid to the side," he said.
Before anyone could think about which thod made more sense, Cerus suddenly raised his axe, and then he threw it straight at the section of the wall that had sounded different.
"Cerus!" Ikarus shouted at once. "How dare you do that?! The tomb is a place where our ancestors rest, so—"
He didn’t even get to finish his sentence.
BOOM!
The hidden door shattered apart the mont Cerus’s axe struck it. Chunks of stone crashed to the ground as dust exploded into the air. For a few seconds, everyone simply stared at the newly opened entrance.
"It’s open," Cerus said casually, as if he hadn’t just destroyed a centuries-old door.
Ikarus looked absolutely horrified. When Cerus noticed his brother’s expression, he shrugged.
"Oh, don’t be so stiff, brother." He walked over and retrieved his axe. "Our ancestors will definitely understand if they know we ca here to help our pregnant wife."
He brushed so dust off the weapon before adding, "Pregnant won have always been our top priority, after all. It would be ridiculous for them to get angry over sothing like this."
When they said that pregnant won should be their top priority, did that only apply while they were pregnant, or—
[It applies forever, Host~] Pinky imdiately answered the question in her mind. The fluffy pink mochi bounced happily on her shoulder.
[In this world, won have always been the highest priority because they are the source of life and hope.]
[That’s why husbands here wouldn’t dare deceive their wives. They wouldn’t even speak badly about them.]
For a mont, Maeve didn’t know what to say because the idea felt strange to her.
Back on Earth, she had seen countless relationships fall apart because of lies, betrayal, and people taking each other for granted.
But here, the way the triplets treated her seed so natural that they didn’t even realize how unusual it was.
Well, maybe Pinky was right. They really would never see her as a burden.
"We should have brought so firewood with us," Axan said as he walked ahead toward the partially open door. "It’s really dark in here."
Maeve slowly took a step back, almost hiding behind Axan’s broad back. It wasn’t that she was afraid of the dark, but a tomb that was old, silent, and completely dark felt like the perfect setting for a popular horror movie.
What made it worse was that the darkness inside the tomb felt different from the darkness in the forest at night. In the forest, there was always so light from the moon and stars.
Here, there was nothing. The darkness swallowed everything, making it impossible to see even a few steps ahead.
"I think I brought a short branch in my bag," Ikarus said as he searched through the items inside his animal-skin bag.
A few monts later, Ikarus pulled out a short, dry branch and held it up with a small smile. "Found it."
Maeve blinked several tis because she hadn’t expected him to carry dry wood around in his bag, but at least this way, they wouldn’t have to worry about not having a source of light.
"But I only brought three short branches," Ikarus said. "We’ll probably still be surrounded by darkness once we get deeper inside."
