Hearing the General’s harsh words toward Xue Ya’er, Yao Zhi couldn’t hold back anymore and took a step forward to block his sharp gaze.
Being blocked by him, Lu Qianxuan narrowed his eyes and said, "I’m talking to my wife. Get out of the way."
Yao Zhi smiled and replied coldly, "So the General also knows that Madam is your wife. I thought the General didn’t know and therefore treated Madam like this."

"It’s indeed the General’s personal matter, but as Madam’s friend, I can’t just stand aside and do nothing when I see her being wronged," Yao Zhi replied.
"Friend? What kind of friend are you? Are you worthy?!"
Before Yao Zhi could reply, soone entered the hall in hurried steps and knelt down. She looked at the woman who cried so pitifully and raised her eyebrows.
"General, I finally see you," the woman wept and said hoarsely.
Lu Qianxuan frowned when he saw her and asked, "Who are you?"
The woman looked at him with shock and disbelief. After a mont, she took out the jade pendant and said, "General, I’m your betrothed. Back then, your Grandmother and my Grandmother made a promise to let marry you. This jade pendant is our engagent token."

Being shouted at, Xue Ya’er flinched but kept her head up. She didn’t understand why he was so angry. All these years, he had shown her through his actions that he would never have any romantic feelings toward her.
