Yao Zhi moved all the weapons to the System’s storage before she went to take a shower and left the Shared Manor. When she appeared in her room, the sky had darkened.

Feeling tired, she let out a yawn and went to sleep. The moment her head touched the pillow, she drifted into the dreamland and let out a soft snore.

As she fell into a deep sleep, the suppressed storm continued to brew silently. Tonight was destined to be a sleepless night for everyone except her.

Early the next morning, before dawn, Yao Zhi woke up and saw Ling Shijiu getting ready to leave.

She let out a yawn and asked, "Shijiu, where are you going so early? It’s not even dawn."

"Greetings, Master. This subordinate is going to the General’s Mansion," Ling Shijiu replied with cupped fists.

"Why are you going so early?"

"Master, the distance from here to the General’s Mansion is far. It would take several hours for me to arrive."

Hearing this, Yao Zhi realized that even if he was a skilled martial artist, he was still a mortal. Even with his great internal energy, it was still tiring to travel so far.

Since Ling Shijiu’s loyalty toward her had already reached 100%, she didn’t worry that he would expose her secret. So, she pulled him to the donkey shed. When she was sure that no one was around, she took out a warhorse from her system’s grassland.

This warhorse was already mature and parable to the warhorses carefully bred by the imperial court. But she didn’t know this. After she took out the horse, she took out a bunch of grass and put it into a burlap sack.

Ling Shijiu was stunned when he saw his Master conjure something out of thin air. His heart was beating so fast as he finally confirmed his previous suspicions.

His Master was indeed an immortal descended to the mortal realm to save the moners from their suffering!

Not knowing that her guard’s thoughts had gone wild, she handed the burlap sack to him and said, "From now on, this horse is yours. Also, that saddle is for you too. Take this grass and feed it later. Bring water from home."

Ling Shijiu accepted the sack and nodded. His eyes were shining brightly. He never expected that he would be able to own a horse one day.

After Yao Zhi gave him some instructions, she said, "e back early."

"Understood," Ling Shijiu nodded and left soon after.

When she was alone, Yao Zhi went to the kitchen and started the fire to boil water. When dawn arrived, the Ling brothers and Xi Yi woke up one after another.

Maybe because she treated Xi Si and Xi Qi leniently, the children no longer woke up as early as the chickens.

Now, they woke up around 5 o’clock and practiced their horse stance for an hour before practicing swinging wooden swords made by Ling Yi for another half an hour.

When they finished their practice, they went to take a hot bath and had breakfast with everyone at 7 o’clock. Then, Xi Yi would teach them to read for two hours before they practiced their calligraphy for 3 hours.

At noon, they would have a lunch break and take a nap.

Then they would start their afternoon class again at 2 o’clock. This time, they would learn how to paint or play chess for a few hours before finishing their studies for the day. Before they went to bed, they would finish the homework given by their mother.

When Yao Zhi learned about their study schedule, she sighed and thought that no matter the era, being a student was never easy.

Just recalling how she studied back then, she felt that all she could do now was help nourish the children so they wouldn’t get sick from being too tired.

While she spent a leisurely time at home, Ling Shijiu arrived at the General’s mansion.

The moment the guards saw the horse he rode, their eyes widened in surprise. Although they were no longer serving as soldiers, their admiration for good warhorses never diminished.

Recognizing him, one of the guards reached out to help him hold the reins after Ling Shijiu came down. Nodding at the guard, he said, "Thank you."

The guard knew his identity as Lei Feng’s personal guard and was flattered by his politeness. He waved his hand and said, "Guard Shijiu, your horse looks so strong. I wonder what breed it is."

"It’s a gift from my Master. I don’t know what breed it is, but its strength, stamina, and intelligence are parable to the grassland warhorses."

Hearing this, the admiration in the guard’s eyes deepened. Although he envied him for having a good master, the guard never thought of changing his master. His loyalty lay with the General.

After the brief conversation, another guard led Ling Shijiu to the main hall. They had already received an order to bring him to the front courtyard’s hall if he visited.

As they walked, one of the servants who usually assisted Steward Han saw him and went to report.

Not long after they arrived in the hall, Steward Han arrived. This time, Xue Ya’er didn’t e because Ling Shijiu’s status was not enough for her to receive him personally.

Seeing him, Steward Han cupped his fists, bowed, and greeted him, "Greetings, Guard Shijiu."

Ling Shijiu returned his greetings and said, "Steward Han, my Master sent me to ask about your Master’s decision."

Hearing this, Steward Han took a small wooden box from his sleeve and said, "Guard Shijiu, this is the answer from my Master and the Xue family. Your Master will understand when he sees the contents."

Nodding at his words, Ling Shijiu accepted the box, put it in his clothes, and said, "My Master is waiting for the news. Steward Han, I won’t stay any longer."

"Guard Shijiu, thank you for making this trip," Steward Han nodded.

He saw Ling Shijiu off personally before he went to report to Xue Ya’er. Afterward, Steward Han sent a letter to his Master.
