Transmigrated as Cannon Fodder — I Rise to Female Lead Through Hard Work Chapter 205: Proposing a Match
August 2nd, happened to be a Saturday, Guangi brought Youning to Bright Alley. Weiliang didn’t go ho this weekend, staying in the city, and had agreed to take care of Liu Youning this weekend.
"Third Brother." Liu Youning had been studying with Teacher Hua Nianci for a while, and his speech was clearer and he could better express himself than before.
Guangi, seeing her nephew beco more cheerful and intelligent, felt grateful from the bottom of her heart. Every ti she ca to Bright Alley, she could see how excited her nephew was and was happy to bring him often.
"Youning is here, Third Brother bought candies and biscuits, co and eat." Weiliang crouched down and picked up Liu Youning, causing Youning to break into a joyful smile.
"Aunt Guangi." Weiliang smiled at Guangi.
Yi Roujing and the others stood up to warmly invite Guangi to sit down as she approached.
Anmin ca out of the kitchen, holding two plates of sliced lons and peaches, "Youning, have so fruit, it’s sweet."
"Thank you, Sister Anmin." Liu Youning slowly and smilingly thanked her.
"Oh, how cute." Anmin’s heart lted instantly.
"Can these grapes be eaten yet?" Yi Roujing looked up at the grape arbor overhead, with clusters of deep purple grapes that looked particularly enticing.
"I don’t think it’s a matter of ti but the type of grape. These grapes aren’t sweet, they’re very sour." Anmin expressed her difficulty, "I picked one to try this morning, and it’s still very sour, tastes just like wild grapes."
"Oh, then we can only make wine with them." Yi Roujing lanted.
"If my little sister wants to eat grapes, I’ll go buy so early tomorrow morning. Now’s the season, so they’re available." Weiliang couldn’t bear to see his little sister disappointed, so he hurriedly comforted her.
"Sure, sure." Yi Roujing smiled with her eyes squinted.
"But can grapes be made into wine?" Anmin curiously asked, looking at Xia Xingchen, after all, Xia worked at a winery.
"Don’t look at , I’m just a small office clerk. Only technicians and brewing workers can enter the winery workshop. We don’t have the qualifications." Xia Xingchen repeatedly waved her hands, "Besides, our winery produces white and yellow wine, I’ve never heard of making grape wine."
"I can make grape wine, the simple homade version." Yi Roujing raised her hand to indicate, "I’ll try making it, after all, they’re too sour to eat."
"Feel free to experint with it." Anmin said generously.
As Roujing moved, everyone pitched in, picking all the grapes from the courtyard and started to wash and dry them. While draining the water, Roujing took Ding Ancheng to buy sugar, bringing back a full ten pounds.
Returning ho, the bicycle handles were laden with paper packages, and Anmin pointed at the familiar packaging in disbelief, asking, "Is all this sugar?"
Yi Roujing nodded, "You need to add sugar to make grape wine."
Anmin regretted it; she shouldn’t have said that earlier, and didn’t know about the sugar, "Did you use up all your sugar coupons?"
"Not yet, I kept half." Yi Roujing replied honestly.
"Hand them over." Anmin said, feeling the pinch, reaching out her right hand. So much sugar could buy a lot of wine, better than risking it all with no guarantees, and there wasn’t even a splash, with so much sugar at stake.
Yi Roujing rolled her eyes but knew Anmin’s character, so she passed the sugar coupons to her, "Here you go. I’ll ask you for more when I need it."
"If it’s reasonable, I’ll give you more." Anmin imdiately hid the coupons in her room.
Guangi looked at the interaction pattern of the sisters-in-law with a touch of envy. She and her two sisters-in-law were now completely at odds, even before the falling out, they weren’t this close.
"I have a few pounds of sugar coupons left; I’ll bring them next ti." Guangi said with a smile.
"Aunt Guangi, no need, we have enough at ho." Anmin heard Guangi’s offer and quickly ca out, waving her hands, "Our ho has more than this, those are just my brother and sister-in-law’s, save yours for the kids to buy so candies."
"By the way, I ca for another matter this ti." Guangi looked at Weiliang and said, "Weiliang doesn’t have a partner yet, right?"
Weiliang, who was playing with Youning, lifted his head upon hearing this, a shy look typical of his age appeared on his face.
"Nope, he’s not young anymore, and still no partner; my mom has been nagging for a long ti." Yi Roujing quickly chid in, "Aunt Guangi, if you know soone suitable, please introduce her to my third brother."
Weiliang bashfully scratched his head, "Aunt Guangi, my family’s condition is just so-so. If you introduce soone, you have to make it clear to her."
Guangi laughed at this; she just appreciated Weiliang’s honesty and gratitude. It was because she truly saw potential in this young man that she was considering making a match.
"I wanted to tell you about soone from our textile factory’s finance departnt, she’s an accountant, twenty this year, a year younger than Weiliang." Guangi introduced with a smile, "That girl is pretty, not quite on par with you few, Roujing, but still charming."
"Miss Xie is a local from the county, has a formal job which was passed down from her father."
Yi Roujing was a bit surprised; this was quite a good condition, a girl from the county like this wouldn’t worry about finding a partner.
"Aunt Guangi, would a girl like that be willing to et ?" Weiliang asked in surprise, "My family is from the countryside, and I’m still a temporary worker. I’m not quite a match."
Yi Roujing cald down and thoughtfully asked, "Aunt Guangi, does Miss Xie have any requirents concerning her prospective partner?"
"Well, to tell you, Miss Xie has her share of misfortune." Guangi sighed, "Miss Xie’s parents passed away, having a car accident five years ago, leaving her and her younger brother, who was only a year old then. Miss Xie has raised her brother like her own son, bringing him up well over the last five years."
"Miss Xie hopes her future partner will accept her brother, as she plans to take him along when she gets married. Also, the house in the county is intended to be transferred to her brother when he grows up and gets married."
Yi Roujing understood; after all, it was just a brother, not that hard to find soone willing, given Miss Xie’s financial independence, work capability, and ability to support her brother.
"Aunt Guangi, Miss Xie shouldn’t have trouble finding a husband given her conditions." Weiliang said straightforwardly.
"The young lady wishes to find soone good and sincerely kind to the child. Of course, with her looks, she also wants soone presentable." Guangi said with a smile, "Weiliang’s appearance needs no ntion, splendid, your family stands out."
"Moreover, considering Youning’s situation, it’s well-known in our factory. A few days ago, I casually ntioned it to Miss Xie, and she expressed curiosity to et."
