With the addition of Yuan Jin and a few others, their speed of getting out of the jungle increased substantially, but their luck wasn’t the best. After only a few kilometers, they encountered a small armed group from the K ethnic group, about fifteen to sixteen people, and tensions flared between the two sides.
"It’s best not to start a conflict. We’re too close to the K ethnic group’s territory. If we start a fight, we’re likely to suffer," said Yuan Jin.
"What do we do then? If we don’t kill them, they won’t let us go," Dahai was puzzled.
"Let me try talking to them and see if we can reach a settlement?"
Yuan Jin stood up and shouted something in gibberish to the other side, and the response was also in gibberish, although the tone was rather unpleasant.

Everyone grabbed the stretcher and hurried towards the riverbank. With the path Yuan Jin and his group had cleared the day before, they saved a lot of time and reached the riverbank by noon.
Everything went smoothly. They crossed the river in an orderly fashion, with He Chengsi going first, carrying the unconscious Heizi. Sisi followed next. During her second river crossing, she wasn’t as scared as the first time. Although she still felt a bit dizzy, she dared to open her eyes and look down as she crossed.
Sisi proudly gave herself a thumbs up!
When everyone had crossed the river and was preparing to set off again, they noticed a group of soldiers in camouflage uniforms approaching the river from the other side.
They looked like our troops, but it was unclear whether they were friend or foe.
Everyone tensed up, staying alert and ready for a fight.
"They’re over there!" someone shouted loudly, seemingly ing to meet them.
However, He Chengsi and the group remained cautious, refusing to trust anyone but their own.
The approaching group was a small squad of about twelve to thirteen men, led by a man around thirty years old. He saluted He Chengsi respectfully and introduced himself as a pany mander from the military region, ordered to search and rescue He Chengsi and his group.
This pany mander was quite pleased to have found He Chengsi and his panions. He didn’t seem like a bad person, but who knew if they were sent by the Tang Family?
"Captain He, our vehicle is outside. Let’s get out of here quickly," said the pany mander.
"Alright, lead the way," He Chengsi responded coolly.
Although they followed the squad, everyone remained vigilant, keeping a clear boundary between themselves and the squad.
"pany mander, what’s up with these people? They’re acting as if we’re the enemy," a soldier asked the pany mander quietly, finding it hard to bear.
The pany mander was puzzled too and felt somewhat wronged. Despite the effort they went through to find them, they received no gratitude nor kind looks, so it was no wonder his subordinates felt unfortable.
However, he said, "Why worry about others? Let’s just do our job properly."
Sisi kept watching the group’s movements. She thought for a moment, took out a box of chocolates from her bag, and quietly distributed them among the soldiers, giving each one a piece.
"Thank you!"
Despite Sisi’s soot-covered face, her voice remained sweet and charming. It was clear she was a pretty young girl, and these lovable soldiers blushed as they took the candy and thanked her shyly.
After distributing the chocolate, Sisi returned to her group and whispered to He Chengsi, "Brother, there are two people from the Tang Family in that group, the rest are probably not."
"Which two?"
"The last one and the fourth from last. Their presence is extremely dangerous; we should be careful."
"Alright, I understand." He Chengsi nodded, curving his lips into a bloodthirsty smile.
Yuan Jin and the others also learned who the enemies were. Although curious about how He Chengsi knew, no one asked. They focused on the result, regardless of the process.

After identifying the enemies, the atmosphere between the two teams improved significantly, and with the addition of Sisi’s chocolates, everyone began chatting and laughing like good brothers.
As dusk fell, He Chengsi found a good spot to camp. The pany mander said that at this speed, they would be out by noon the next day.
Tonight’s dinner wasn’t snakes, but rather a few wild chickens that He Chengsi had hunted during the day. Knowing that Sisi didn’t eat snake meat, he had already prepared dinner.
Sisi happily prepared the wild chicken meat, thinking how her own brother was the best. Days of eating pressed biscuits had her stomach acid constantly churning, and only at night did she dare sneak some fruit from Space to satisfy her cravings. But still, she craved meat!
Sisi cut a wild chicken into several large pieces, tossed them into her small stew pot, and prepared to cook a pot of chicken soup for Heizi to nourish him.
The enticing aroma wafted out, and everyone happily ate the grilled meat. Brother Meng even performed a clapper talk with two pieces of wood, making everyone laugh until their stomachs hurt, shouting ’do it again.’
While feeding Heizi chicken soup, Sisi carefully observed the two people. These two, like everyone else, cheered loudly, but it was obvious they were frowning and their mouths were downturned. Clearly, they were troubled, and their happiness was fake.
They were probably thinking about how to get rid of them, right?
