"Fufu~, it’s always fun to see you fall for my tricks,"

Adriannel kept his cold gaze fixed on her. Deventhia felt slightly bewildered by his reaction but followed his line of sight, understanding where his focus lay.

Aware that they weren’t alone in the room, Deventhia’s hand rested on the table.

TAP

A tap resounded from the center of her forefinger inside the room.

Huss~

An energy flow suddenly filled the space inside the room, Adriannel not paying attention to her using Illusion, his cold gaze kept locked on sothing wanting an answer from her to take such steps, turning his eyes towards her, " Reason"

Seated at the table with her hand resting on it, Deventhia slowly supported herself, stood up, and moved past Adriannel, heading toward three individuals — two girls and a small black dragon resting in Yue’s hand.

Both sisters had smoky eyes, indicating they had fallen into an illusion.

However, even their inborn abilities seed ineffective against Deventhia’s illusion.

Despite Yue being an Oblivionist, capable of neutralizing mana and dispelling the illusion, or i’s Physique having the power to repel it, nothing appeared to be happening.

This highlighted Deventhia’s strength and precision.

Deventhia possessed an enormous mana strength, strong enough to keep Yue’s physique busy while neutralizing it and that continuous flow of mana kept Yue in the illusion.

Her precise control over her mana was such that even when repelled, she managed to redirect it towards i, creating a loop that effectively immobilized i in her place.

Adriannel’s gaze didn’t follow Deventhia as she passed by him but remained fixed on her table, gazing at sothing shrouded by her illusion.

This proved that if he wanted to see, not even Deventhia’s illusion could blind his vision.

However, there was no reason to go to such lengths when they had trust in each other.

ZZZ-Zzzz-zzz

"You can open your eyes, Dragon," Deventhia said, locking her gaze on the little sleeping dragon within Yue’s embrace.

"I thought you wouldn’t use your illusion on "

Slowly, Chrono’s eyelashes lifted, revealing two intensely shining golden-streaked pupils that t Deventhia’s before he stood and jumped from Yue’s embrace.

Ignoring Deventhia, he moved toward Adriannel, who was still focused on the table.

Reaching Adriannel, Chrono stopped, also looking toward the table, "Thank you, Old man. I’ll rember this favor,"

Adriannel whose crimson eyes was locked on that direction turned towards the little creature sitting beside him, kept looking at Chrono’s Golden pupils before turning towards that place moving forward.

Deventhia noticed him moving towards her table, she clarified, " I already extracted information from his brain but these leaf-lickers can’t be trusted"

HUSSS~

As her words made way towards Adriannel, a figure started to materialize on table, slowly white-toned feet revealing moving forward towards knees and then upper body until it reaches neck, a body without head revealed itself.

Adriannel moved towards the severed headed body of Banzihum lying on table, moving his hands above him.

WHOOSH

A crimson red aura surged, enveloping the entire body, as a rage of mana began to emanate from every pore of the Elf’s skin, resonating with Adriannel’s crimson aura.

Being an Elf, the body retained its perfect shape without any signs of disintegration, unlike a normal human body.

Gazing at Adriannel’s back, Chrono narrowed his eyes, recalling the favor this man had granted him.

Dragons possess absolute control over mana, making their brain and internal body among the most intricate things a magician could witness in their lifeti — the structure of a dragon’s body remains an unknown mystery to any mage.

The unbearable pain Chrono felt at that mont was beyond his dragon will to endure.

It involved the forceful reconstruction of his internal veins, molding them while tearing through obstacles, reaching toward his brain but not penetrating it.

Typically, Chrono would have required an additional two years to reconstruct his dragon veins to properly circulate his mana through them.

Such a duration is necessary to form strong veins capable of withstanding the enormously dense mana that his heart would need to pump.

Adriannel created the path by forcefully tearing through it.

Although it seed simple but in reality every single strand carried millions of connections, requiring an unfathomable amount of focus and self-control to form even a single strand.

However, not only that but Adriannel even ceased before connecting it to the heart, aware of Chrono’s current state where he was unfocused and needed rest, lest he risk going berserk.

These were the things that always perplexed Chrono - the depth of knowledge that Adriannel possessed. ’An Archmage indeed,’

"It will take him so ti," Chrono remarked, well aware of Adriannel’s activities involving the deceased elf’s body. He turned towards Deventhia, whose attention was fixed on the two immobilized won.

"She slls good, right?" Chrono moved closer to Deventhia, prompting her to turn toward him with a puzzled frown, not comprehending his statent.

Chrono, without looking at her face, jumped into Yue’s embrace, settling within it.

"Yawnn~ I just want to sleep more, you can leave,"

Hearing Chrono’s words, Deventhia’s expression twitched, but she refrained from delving further. "So, you got dissected," she remarked mockingly.

Chrono turned his face away, ignoring her, well aware of the implied aning behind her words.

After all, it was precisely what the old man known as Adriannel had often emphasized — nothing cos free in this world.

The reconstruction of Chrono’s veins required just that much bargaining to elicit such a favor.

He knew Adriannel’s capabilities and how far he was willing to go for what he had.

Chrono didn’t want to dwell on it; it was crystal clear what Adriannel had got in exchange for that favour — his future mories.

Deventhia looking at his calm figure lying while not paying attention to her and also seeing Adriannel busy in his own work, turned towards window of room, narrowing her eyes to search for certain soone.

’!?’

Suddenly, her eyes widened witnessing about just what happened.

Zeph’s POV

"You are strong for a re Human,"

Those words reached my ears.

Looking towards a young woman with widened eyes, I felt turmoil flowing inside my mind.

’Estelle Collins!?’

My brain, for a second, seed to stop, looking at one of the Four Witches of «Heroes Counterattack»

It was impossible for a story to have heroines but not so villainess, and right now, in front of , stood the most cruel one of them —Estelle Collins, also known as the fiancée of the Failed Regressor - Hursen Collins — my dear classmate.

I don’t understand the reason for her being here out of all others, but what to do? She was a craten, and her being here was technically possible.

It’s just that she should have to be in the Academy right now.

Wait, now I rember, she is in the third year. Maybe that’s why she’s on vacation due to the freedom for third-year students.

BOOM

’!?’

"You seed distracted"

’This bitch’

I looked towards her finger, and the thin water stream passed beside .

She had shot a dense stream of water towards .

If it had hit , my body would have divided in half,’Of course, if I was in my early days’

’Zendal, supply mana to outer layer of my skin’

I commanded to harden my skin enough to stop her attacks to certain levels knowing it was impossible to stop her attacks that was atleast Mach 3 or even greater speed if she focused — She was a major character for a reason.

’And Seraphina, increase barrier strength’

Seeing Thalia encapsulated into the barrier that was recreated the mont this woman threw out of it after breaking it, knowing the upcoming battle, I increased the durability to withstand the Shockwaves.

I intensely looked towards her, not letting my guard down.

Estelle, unlike other heroines who had circumstances, had a story maybe fitting of a villainess — She killed Hursen in every life.

Yes, Hursen never died by any other ans but by this woman’s hands.

It seed confusing, but she always killed him in every life, only blabbering sothing about giving him a chance.

But I don’t care about those things.

What was written in the novel had already started to ss up.

I don’t believe that now, and what mattered to right now was just what she did to us.

If not for my good senses, I could have believed her mistakenly crashing with .

But I clearly heard the sound of a water beam penetrating Seraphina’s barrier that would have been impossible to break just by crashing.

It is far enough reason to deal with this woman right here and seeing her eyes, It was clear she too doesn’t like my presence for so reason.

I don’t care about what reason she has, but she could have caused harm to Thalia,’ That is enough of a reason for ’

SWISH

Using my Mana Transmutation, I ford an encapsulating field around my face, allowing to breathe.

Manipulating Mana Quartz, a fundantal unit for all matter in this world, to arrange it into specific structures and form a new elent was not impossible.

’At least, my first year’s study hasn’t gone to waste’
