Sanlang was always rather fragile. Upon hearing this, he was so scared he started to cry and quickly climbed out of the carriage, loudly calling to Qin Yao on the cow cart in front:

"Mother!"

Qin Yao had heard Old Liu’s words. Having survived various natural disasters and mutated zombies and plants in the apocalypse, she remained as steady as an old dog.

She smiled softly and said to Sanlang, "Don’t be afraid. When soldiers co, use generals to block them; when water cos, use earth to cover it. If the sky really falls down, we can just lie flat."

Sanlang imdiately put his mind back into his round belly.

Old Liu was stunned, his previously closed mind suddenly opened up.

What’s the use of worrying?

Whatever is ant to co will co, we just have to prepare to face it. Life still needs to go on!

Once a person gets it, they smile.

Looking at Qin Yao leisurely enjoying the scenery on the cow cart, Old Liu suddenly beca curious about what kind of past she must have had to develop such openness.

In the evening, the group finally arrived at the Liu Family Village. When they left, they clearly only had one wagon, but on their return, they surprisingly had an additional cow cart. Zhang and the others at ho were utterly confused.

But there was no need to think; it was surely bought by Qin Yao’s family.

He jumped down from the cart and, seeing Mrs. Qiu holding a child in her arms, said happily:

"Third sister-in-law bought another cow cart and promised to lend it to us so that we can ride to Mother’s house to share the good news!"

Mrs. Qiu smiled warmly at these words; the eldest sister-in-law was still so considerate.

But why did the third sister-in-law buy another cow cart?

Could it be for plowing the fields?

Liu Zhong carried things into the courtyard. Seeing his wife and child standing outside in the chill, he quickly told them to go back inside.

He placed the items under the eaves outside the main house. When he raised his head, he gave Mrs. Qiu a grin and whispered, "Yao Niang bought the cow for farming."

Liu Ji entered with so things and overheard, scoffing: "What? Are you envious, second brother?"

Liu Zhongcai had no envy, sneering, "You wouldn’t even manage ten acres of land, yet you’re still boasting."

"What’s there to boast about? My wife has the capability to buy an ox for farming; how amazing is that!" Liu Ji patted his chest proudly.

Liu Zhong couldn’t be bothered to talk to him, calling Liu Fei to help carry things, dismissively waving at Liu Ji, "Go, go, go, go ho now!"

Mrs. Zhang stepped out, "Where are you going? Stay and have dinner before you leave; it’s too troubleso to go back and cook this late."

Although these words were directed at Liu Ji, they were ant for Qin Yao and her five children to hear.

Qin Yao responded from outside the door, "We’ll go ho to eat; we still have to settle the cows and horses. You all go ahead and eat."

Mrs. Zhang pressed once more, and Qin Yao, finding it a hassle, refused, needing to take the cows and horses ho first, as she was unwilling to make another trip back.

Anyway, it’s not like there’s no one at ho to cook now.

Liu Ji’s smile, which had just appeared, imdiately collapsed. Going into the main room, he glanced at Liu Zhong’s son Da Mao, a soft little baby wrapped snugly by his mother, wearing a tiger head cap, only revealing a smooth, white little face.

At this mont, sleeping, hearing the surrounding noise, he uneasily pursed his lips. His little pinkish mouth was so adorable it could lt hearts.

Under the watchful eyes of Liu Zhong and his wife, Liu Ji swiftly reached out to poke Da Mao’s cheek, feeling satisfied, he left.

Once he left, Liu Zhong quickly ran forward to check his son’s condition, and Mrs. Qiu was amused by his reaction, laughing:

"Who would eat your son? Why are you so nervous? The third brother just lightly touched him, our son is perfectly fine."

Liu Zhong saw that his son was indeed sleeping soundly, finally feeling relieved. Looking out the door, Liu Ji just happened to turn back with a challenging smile, which made Liu Zhong so angry he wanted to hit him.

Unfortunately, before he reached the door, the couple had already left with a cart each, carrying the children far away.

He stood at the door loudly shouting, "Third sister-in-law, I’ll co to get the cow in the morning!"

"Got it!" Qin Yao replied loudly.

Looking down at the big green ox in front of her, she whispered, "The land at ho is now in your hands. Go for it, little green ox!"

Si Niang poked her head out of the wagon, shouting to Qin Yao, "Mother, let’s call it Old Qing!"

Qin Yao smiled helplessly, caught up in the na choosing process. "Alright, we’ll call it Old Qing."

Getting her mother’s approval, the little girl burst into a happy laugh.

That laughter echoed continuously in the dim twilight, making Second Lang and Sanlang rub their arms, listening to the eeriness.

The family of six arrived ho, settled everything, and after having dinner, it was already late at night. After a simple wash, they went back to their rooms and slept imdiately.

Early the next morning, He and Liu Bai ca with Jinbao to get the ox cart.

Qin Yao hadn’t even gotten up yet. Liu Ji, who was forced to keep studying, woke up very early to recite inside the room.

With a headband that read "Wenquxing guards ," he opened the door for Liu Bai’s family, still holding an oversized handwritten book in his left hand, muttering as he opened the door and pointed to the backyard with his empty hand, telling them to get the cart themselves, and then open the back door to take the ox.

The entire ti, his eyes only glanced at Liu Bai’s family to confirm it was them, then imdiately glued back to the book, like a wandering soul drifting back to his room.

Liu Bai’s family exchanged shocked looks, just stepping through Qin Yao’s door when Liu Ji suddenly reappeared, raised his hand to his lips, and made a "shush" gesture.

Liu Bai’s family nodded knowingly, glanced at the still-closed master bedroom, covered their mouths, hunched down, and snuck to the backyard to hitch the ox cart like thieves.

Once they were done, Liu Ji suddenly reappeared, standing inside the main door, waving them out, then skillfully closing the house door.

Not long after, the sound of pots and pans clashing could be heard inside.

"Jinbao!" Liu Bai called out to his son.

Jinbao, who had his ear pressed against the main door, listened a few more seconds before hopping onto the ox cart.

As soon as he sat down, he animatedly depicted, "Dad, Mom, is my third uncle possessed? Waking up early to read is one thing, but he even went into the kitchen to make breakfast!"

This was beyond the little kid’s understanding of his uncle, eyes widening to express his shock.

As for Liu Bai and He, they were both quite startled, murmuring in disbelief, "It seems Third Brother has truly changed..."

The twelfth day of the first lunar month arrived.

Today was the day for Da Mao’s full month celebration feast at the old house.

Qin Yao rarely got up early—mainly because He arrived before dawn, shouting like a madman.

"Benches, tables, bowls, and chopsticks, oh right! Bring the kitchen knife too, your kitchen knife works great!"

After quickly instructing, He dashed off towards the next house.

Qin Yao yawned and went to Liu Ji’s room, dragging him out, "Benches, tables, bowls, chopsticks, and the kitchen knife—take them all to the old house, hurry up!"

Liu Ji, being disturbed from his studying, didn’t dare complain, responding obediently, setting his book down, and taking one last look at the paragraph he just morized for accuracy before stepping out.

Qin Yao ca to the children’s room, softly instructing them to go to the old house to find food once they wake up, then left with Liu Ji carrying tables, chairs, pots, and pans.
