This was definitely going to cause trouble.
While Ji Fang was still surprised, Zhou Hengyang across the line hung up the phone. Just before the call ended, Ji Fang could faintly hear the big boss cursing with a laugh, “That little brat…”
Ji Fang suddenly felt envious of the relationship between the big boss and the Deputy Director. It didn’t show usually, but the big boss always liked to exploit the Deputy Director’s labor. The Deputy Director wasn’t honest either, always scheming behind the big boss’s back, full of thoughts.
Now that the big boss was aware, the terrible things Ji Fang feared would happen, didn’t occur. He had thought the big boss would fly into a rage. However, simply because the Deputy Director fell ill, the big boss immediately let it go.
Ji Fang was deeply moved, yet he was unaware that the reason Zhou Hengyang and Su Wen were so agreeable was also because of Su Qing.
Su Qing had suffered yet kept everything bottled up, not telling anyone, allowing a certain shameless Zhou Hengguang to escape unscathed.

During this period, Ji Fang had already gotten to know his peers well. Although Zhou Hengguang was young, his high status, strong backing, and ability made him the one who really had a say in the experts’ group. This also gave Ji Fang an advantage, and his own status amongst the numerous entourage, secretaries, and assistants was elevated.
He got along well with many of them.
But there were some people Ji Fang didn’t show a good face to, not because he was arrogant or looked down on them, but because quite a few female rades’ intentions were too obvious. They wanted to get close to the Deputy Director through him.
Seeing the Deputy Director as an eligible bachelor, they tried all sorts of tricks to catch his attention.
After hitting a wall with the Deputy Director, they changed tactics and approached Ji Fang to inquire about Zhou Hengguang’s interests and personality. They wanted to take advantage of Ji Fang’s amicable nature to get close to Deputy Director Zhou.
