The cold weather outside was biting, and even though Fu Siyu hadn’t been out for long, his clothes were soaked through with chill.
Shu Wan’s face, already warm, pressed against Fu Siyu’s suit, only to feel the biting cold of its fabric.
Fu Siyu quickly realized this, and he stepped back, a bit out of character and flustered, "Then I’ll go up and change, wait for me."
Soon, Fu Siyu came down in a suit made of corduroy, which looked warm and cozy at a glance.
By this time, Shu Wan was already sitting at the dining table. Fu Siyu approached, "I’ve changed."
Shu Wan turned her head and glanced at him, responding, "Mm, I’m hungry."
"Then let’s eat."
The two sat down to eat, but after only a couple of bites, Shu Wan put down her chopsticks.
She lifted her head and looked at Fu Siyu with some helplessness, "Aren’t you going to eat? Why are you just staring at me?"
Fu Siyu then withdrew his gaze, but said nothing with a smile.
If Fu Siyu had given an answer, that would have been the end of it. But this silent smile of his somehow made one’s heart skip a beat.
Shu Wan also looked away and continued eating, but by the end of the meal, she couldn’t taste the flavor of the food at all.
After the meal, Shu Wan went upstairs for an afternoon nap, and Fu Siyu very consciously followed her footsteps until they entered the bedroom. Finally, Shu Wan couldn’t help but turn back, "I’m going to take a nap, is there something else you need?"
"You sleep. I won’t disturb you."
Shu Wan was puzzled, "What are you going to do?"
"I just want to stay here, there’s no other reason. Is that okay?"
Fu Siyu’s gaze was profound as he looked straight at Shu Wan, the glittering snowlight from outside the window reflecting in his eyes, brilliantly luminous.
Fu Siyu said he had no other thoughts, but whether it was his gaze or expression, they were telling Shu Wan that the reason he wanted to stay was that he wanted to be with her.
Shu Wan’s eyes flickered slightly, and she didn’t continue to ask. Her face, however, turned red again.
Her beauty was already breathtaking with her blushing face, but especially so because it was a blush caused by him. Fu Siyu felt a stirring in his heart, his burning gaze nearly igniting Shu Wan.
"Do what you want."
Even someone as posed as Shu Wan couldn’t stand being stared at by Fu Siyu like that. She turned her back, avoiding his gaze, "I need to change clothes, turn around."
This time, Fu Siyu obediently turned away. Only after Shu Wan had changed and laid down on the bed did he turn back around.
Today, Shu Wan seemed scared of Fu Siyu. Usually, she could chat with him for a while before going to sleep, but now she didn’t dare say an extra word.
But Fu Siyu took the initiative to move closer, his eyes full of a smile, "Shu Wan."
That tone of Fu Siyu’s made Shu Wan’s heart tremble. She wasn’t usually afraid of anyone or anything, but at that moment, she truly didn’t dare respond to Fu Siyu’s words.
Shu Wan closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep.
After Fu Siyu called her name once and saw that Shu Wan didn’t respond, he didn’t call out again.
The room was very quiet, so still that it seemed only the flickering flames in the fireplace could be heard.
Shu Wan had planned to feign sleep, but with the morning’s filming being so exhausting, drowsiness soon overtook her, and before she knew it, she had drifted off to sleep.
It was at this moment that a very soft voice came from beside her, "I’m very happy."
After a moment, Fu Siyu added another sentence, "Extremely happy."
