"That’s so much money... It’s got to be a hundred yuan, right?" Jim Thorne muttered, so excited he didn’t know what to do with his hands and feet. His heart was pounding, about to leap out of his throat.

"No, more like fifty-sothing."

Adrian Hawthorne appeared calm, but inside, he was just as excited as Jim. He flattened each bill and arranged them in neat stacks, starting with the larger denominations, then the smaller ones, and finally the smallest notes and a few coins.

"There’s no way this much is only fifty-sothing. You must have counted wrong," Jim said with conviction. He was sure it had to be at least a hundred.

Tang Xiaonan barely managed to keep her mouth shut. ’My idiot third brother is the poster child for cluelessness.’ Adrian Hawthorne had only brought three hundred photos. Even if every single one sold for two jiao, the most they could make was sixty yuan. But since many people bought three for five jiao, the total had to be at least fifty. So, the pile of cash had to be sowhere between fifty and sixty yuan.

It was a simple math problem a third-grader could solve, and Jim was already in the fourth grade. ’What a slacker. His test scores have never even hit double digits. He’s begging for a beating.’

"How many photos did I bring in total?" Adrian Hawthorne asked.

Jim scratched his head. "Three hundred, right? How could you not know how many photos you brought?"

He held back from calling him an idiot. ’After all,’ he thought, ’I only made three yuan thanks to Adrian Hawthorne. I’m not so ungrateful jerk.’ He kept his mouth shut, but in his head, he was silently looking down on the fool.

"And how much did we sell them for?"

Adrian Hawthorne saw right through the big oaf’s thoughts. ’I’d really love to smack him one,’ he thought. ’But the oaf actually did a pretty good job today. I definitely wouldn’t have earned as much working alone.’ Grandpa Tate always said that a team is stronger than an individual. Cooperation was the key to success.

"Two jiao a piece, or three for five jiao. Weren’t you the one who set the prices?" Jim was getting impatient.

’He doesn’t even rember the prices he set himself. Did his brain turn to shit?’

"Ouch! Xiaonan, what was that for?"

A sharp pain shot through Jim’s arm, and he glared angrily at the culprit. Tang Xiaonan just tilted her head back, completely unafraid. ’He’s hopelessly dumb. The boss laid it all out so clearly, and he still can’t connect the dots. With an IQ like that... school is going to be a real struggle for him.’

"My teeth were itching... Hmph!"

Tang Xiaonan bared her little teeth, then looked down as if nothing had happened. ’If I weren’t afraid people would think I’m so kind of freak, I would have just told them the answer. Knowing the answer and not being able to say it is torture. It’s driving crazy!’

Jim’s anger vanished in a flash. He even held his arm back out to her. "If your teeth are itchy, go on and bite a few more tis. I’ve got thick skin. It doesn’t hurt."

’My sister’s teeth are itching. It’s my absolute duty to offer my arm for her to teethe on. Of course it is.’

Tang Xiaonan’s anger dissipated imdiately, replaced by a pang of guilt. She gently blew on Jim’s arm. The imprint of her gapped baby teeth was clearly visible—her handiwork. ’But Jim isn’t even a little bit angry. How can I be so disdainful of a brother who genuinely cares about so much!’

’Even if he’s not a star student and might not amount to much in the future, as long as he loves and stays on the right path, that’s all that matters. I’ll be the one to earn the money. All my brothers have to do is love ; that’s more than enough.’

"It doesn’t hurt at all, really. Go on, bite," Jim said with a cheerful laugh, completely unbothered.

"They’re not itchy anymore. Third Brother, you really need to study hard. Otherwise, you won’t even be able to do simple math, and you’ll never know how much money you’ve actually earned," Tang Xiaonan said earnestly. ’I’m genuinely worried about this silly boy,’ she thought.

Adrian Hawthorne glanced over at her. ’I get the feeling this chubby girl can actually figure out the math,’ he thought, ’but that’s impossible. Little Fatty Tang just started kindergarten. She can’t even count to ten, so how could she possibly solve such a difficult problem?’
