Chapter 398 - "I really feel that she is not my daughter." (1)
She had never spent time with Old Mr. Shu before but, from the original owner’s memory, Old Mr. and Mrs. Shu never cared much about this granddaughter. They never said a word no matter how Shu Youfu or Lin Zixiang had treated her. Original owner’s life would have gone much smoother if any one of them had said something about it.
Every family had their own difficulties. Feng Zeyu’s own family was another one and he knew full well the kind of hurt that could bring about by one’s family. It was not something that could be alleviated by just a few words or a little concern. That was all he had said to Shu Yan. He would not go as far as to ask Shu Yan to forgive her family members.
“We are only going to be staying in City XI for a few days and it was a big day for your Third Brother. We should at least put up the front.”
His words made Shu Yan’s lips curved upward. She hated those who would deal out advices without understanding the situation and feeling like they were the most righteous and outstanding person in the world.
They were staying at the hotel and the wedding banquet was at night. It was still early in time but there were already workers there decorating.
The two went downstairs to grab some food and swung by to take a look. The decorations were both modern and fantastical. Possibly all women who saw that would like and feel envious about.
Feng Zeyu gave Shu Yan a look and asked, “You like?”
“It is alright.” All women would fantasize about their own weddings. That applied to Shu Yan as well. She had fantasized many times about how her wedding would be like but, in the end, realized that it was all for naught if she never met the right person.
Feng Zeyu seemed to be deep in thought. Picking up Shu Yan’s hand, he said, “Our wedding will be even better than this one.”
“Are you proposing to me?” asked Shu Yan as she looked at him with a smile that wasn’t a smile.
“No, this is too casual.” As much as Feng Zeyu wasn’t a romantic person, he still knew that a proposal should not be so casual.
After lunch, Shu Yan wanted to show Feng Zeyu around when she saw a couple fussing over at the front desk.
“You can’t stop me from seeing my own daughter.” The woman who was talking was Lin Zixiang.
Shu Yan stopped and looked at the couple relaxingly.
“You know them?” Feng Zeyu, too, stopped with her and asked.
“My parents,” Shu Yan whispered into Feng Zeyu’s ear softly.
The couple were still fussing over there and insisted the front desk to tell me Shu Yan’s room number and to take them upstairs.
“I apologize. We cannot give out our customers’ information without their consent.” The girl at the front desk was having a hard time maintaining her smile. Her eyes lit up when she saw Shu Yan and Feng Zeyu. “Miss Shu……”
Shu Yan waved her hand and cut the receptionist off. “Who are you looking for?”
Shu Youfu and Lin Zixiang backed down some when they saw Shu Yan and Feng Zeyu. That was exactly the kind of people that they were. They would bully the weak but afraid of the strong.
“That…… We are looking for Shu Yan. She is my daughter and she has returned for her third brother’s wedding. She is staying right here but they won’t let me see my own daughter. They can’t do that.”
The two receptionists gave Shu Youfu and Lin Zixiang an odd look. Some rich person had booked the entire second floor for his wedding banquet today and his sister was staying at the hotel. The presidential suite at that. That and because of Feng Zeyu’s eye-catching appearance, the receptionists had talked about Shu Yan behind her back. Suddenly, two ordinarily-dressed persons who looked like any villagers, came and said that Shu Yan was their daughter. And now they didn’t even recognize her when she was standing right in front of them. How ridiculous was that?
“How do you know she is staying here?” Shu Yan knew that she would run into Shu Youfu during this trip. She just didn’t think they would e so soon.
