Mitsuki let his arms fall in discouragent. Setting aside the fact that the system was showing him that his most dangerous and ambiguous title was active, he looked at Marco as if he wanted to strangle him—but he cald down almost imdiately.

’Things can’t get any worse for right now, but...’

This was a good opportunity to go to Nemoria. Besides, Marco was supposedly so strong that only Ellegaard and Jeanne surpassed him. In that case, at least at the beginning, he would have guaranteed protection.

"We’ll pay you and everything, man," Marco said, stepping closer to Mitsuki until he stood right in front of him. "And the best part is, you don’t have to do anything except carry our stuff when we can’t use the carriage anymore. I’m guessing you’re weak, so it’s a good deal after those won abandoned you."

"Oh... well..." The knot in his throat made it hard to respond, but when he rembered Ellegaard and her words, he frowned. His tone turned firr and more serious. "And how much are you paying?"

Of course. He couldn’t show that he genuinely wanted to go to Nemoria, so that question made everything feel more natural. Marco smiled and draped his arm over Mitsuki’s shoulders.

"One hundred silver coins just for you, loser. Plus, if you find anything you like in the ruins of castles and towns, you can keep it."

Suddenly, Mountain joined the conversation. He crossed his arms as he said, "You paid the last porter 150, you damn scamr. If you’re taking people to Nemoria, at least make it worth their while."

Marco’s eye twitched slightly. "Can you shut up? I’m trying to do business with this guy."

"If scamming is business, then you’re doing great."

Mitsuki sighed. ’A scam, huh... Money doesn’t really matter to . All I want is to get to Nemoria and start claiming my power. If these guys take , it’ll be easier, but...’

These were the sa two who had ssed with him the first ti he ca to the guild. Even though he still didn’t fully understand why, he decided this wasn’t the ti to be picky.

"I want 150 silver coins. If you pay that, I’ll go as your porter."

Stopping in his tracks, Marco looked at Mitsuki, who kept his gaze on the ground with a somber expression. Then he shot an annoyed look at Mountain, as if scolding him for ntioning the scam—but cald down a second later.

"I’ll pay you the 150 coins. Just make sure you don’t run away like the last one, or I’ll personally break your legs."

Mitsuki raised his gaze. Even though his body trembled with fear—even though his breathing was unsteady—he said, "I won’t run. Only losers run." And he wanted to stop being a loser, even if it ca at a high cost.

Blondie smiled at those bold words. With that, Mitsuki had made it clear he didn’t want to be called a loser, and he took that quite well. He removed his arm from the boy’s shoulders and clapped once.

"Excellent. That’s what I like to hear. Then that’s settled. We’re leaving right now."

"Monar and Azel should’ve already loaded all the supplies onto the carriage," Mountain said. "Everything should be ready."

"So what are we waiting for?"

With that, Marco and Mountain headed for the exit. Mitsuki watched them for a few seconds before following, as his new adventure had begun.

’So that’s how easily I joined a new party... I think it’s full of idiots, but it’s the best I can get with my nonexistent social skills. If I can just stick with these people, nothing else matters. Power is waiting for , and that’s enough.’

After that, Mitsuki followed behind the two n, who were chatting animatedly. It looked like they were about to enter an alley, which made him nervous, but once they reached the other side and turned the corner, they arrived at an open area between houses next to a road.

There stood two black horses with long silver manes and feathering on their legs. They were majestic animals, slightly larger than ordinary horses. Their black eyes and well-defined muscles made Mitsuki raise his eyebrows in surprise.

Behind the horses stood a black wooden carriage with a brown leather canopy. The wheels were still the sa wooden type as any carriage, but the driver’s seat looked more organized and cushioned. It looked better than Jeanne and Ellegaard’s run-down carriage.

There were also two people loading boxes onto the carriage.

’Those people... I haven’t seen them before.’

One of them was a dark-skinned elf—slender, a bit short, with piercing green eyes and ash-colored hair shaped like a mushroom cut. He wore a black hooded cloak with a standard adventurer outfit underneath. His face looked relaxed, almost sleepy, yet strangely pleasant to look at.

The other was a slightly taller, well-built man with a blue shirt stretching over his muscles. Several straps secured his torso along with his gray long pants and black boots. He wasn’t as big or muscular as Mountain, but he still looked strong. His expression was relaxed, with a faint amused smile as he finished loading the last box, and his long black hair tied back in a ponytail, along with his half-shaved beard, made him seem approachable.

"Is everything ready, Monar?" Mountain asked.

The dark elf, Monar, wiped the sweat from his face. "It’s ready. We can go." His tone was just as sleepy as his expression. "And... who’s that? Where’s the porter?"

’If that’s Monar, then the other one must be...’

Azel placed his hand on Monar’s head, who looked at him in confusion.

"The other coward porter ran off, right?"

Marco put his arm around Mitsuki’s shoulders again as he spoke:

"Yeah. The bastard was a coward and all, but we found sothing else. I can’t say it’s better, but it’s sothing."

This was getting overwhelming for Mitsuki.

’Are insults always free? If I’m going to have to swallow this every day, maybe I should’ve thought this through more carefully.’

There was no ti for regrets.

The elf stepped closer to Mitsuki and offered his hand, but when Mitsuki didn’t take it, he lowered his gaze.

"Hello, nice to et you. I’m Monar, the party’s support. If you get hurt or anything, co to right away. I’ll take care of healing your wounds and protecting everyone from the curse of ash."

Azel let out a small laugh. "Now we’re introducing ourselves? Nice." He lightly tapped his chest with his fist. "I’m Azel, an archer. I handle long-range kills, but I can fight up close too. If you’re going to carry our stuff, make sure your life cos before any material possessions."

Mountain sighed. He knew what he had to do.

"I’m Tom Mountain, the one who distracts monsters and takes most of the damage."

Then Marco gave Mitsuki two pats on the back and walked toward the carriage.

"Since everyone gets excited when saying their nas—idiots with sky-high egos—I guess I should too." He stroked one of the horses without looking at anyone else. "I’m Marco Armstrong, the party leader and the strongest in all of Luxar."

Everyone looked at Mitsuki, waiting for his introduction—but that only made him panic.

"Uh... I... well, I’m Mitsuki, and... I can use magic... I’m a newbie and all that... And now I’m the porter too."

Azel started laughing.

"What a weird na. Welco to the party, kid. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t think it was necessary, but I saw you at the bar that night. You’re quite the troublemaker."

’Oh no... Don’t tell ...’

"Did you like the nickna I gave you?"

’It was you, you bastard!’
