Back inside the Greyson residence, the elders’ eyes burned with a tinge of satisfaction as they slowly nodded toward the shimring green screen. Soft murmurs spreading across the hall.

Despite all their expectations, they couldn’t help but feel a bit of surprise. Those were level 25 Golden Wolves that he was tearing apart as if they were nothing.

Beasts that would require at least an experienced, coordinated group to defeat even one... were easily torn apart. The longer they watched, the more they couldn’t help but marvel at how wondrous all of this was, finally understanding what a true genius was.

Still, even with all this, they couldn’t help but notice he was holding back.

"He’s toying with them," Mistress Aria muttered. A faint smile cut across her lips, her voice ringing across the hall.

The other elders nodded in agreent. They had watched him grow, increase the number of those monstrous blades to ten while their lethality spiked alongside his absurd growth.

"If he had willed it, the battle would have ended more smoothly..." Elder Rysten began, before halting himself mid-speech.

Smoothly? What was smooth in this case? How efficiently or fast he cleared out beasts?

Because in this case...He gulped as a realization slamd into him, furrows forming on his brow.

He had cleared the beasts just as fast and easily as if he had deployed those corrupted blades of his.

The realization seed to echo in every elder’s mind as they stared at the dark-robed figure in a new light. He was redefining their understanding of strength with every passing day. What else couldn’t he do?

As these thoughts raged deep within them, their eyes couldn’t help but light up as the future before them grew brighter and brighter.

At the front, Lord Greyson sat even more pleased than the elders behind him. From what he had seen, he was growing more and more certain of the future of House Greyson.

Even if he fell today, he was confident the legacy that burned in Ulric would flare brighter than all the patriarchs that ca before him.

All he had to do was safeguard his growth in this mont, sothing he was hell-bent on doing even with his last breath.

For as he looked at the dark-robed figure, he didn’t just see Ulric. He saw a future filled with infinite possibilities.

The thought almost caused him to lose his breath as his gaze slowly rose, piercing through the roof into the night sky above.

Long-lost mories churned deep within.

"If only you were here to see it," he sighed, retracting his gaze as his eyes narrowed while staring at the green screen.

Just as he had easily defeated the Golden Wolves, would that also be the case with the dungeon boss?

At this point, he wouldn’t even be surprised...

The thought was suddenly cut short as his breath hitched.

When the mist obscuring the boss cleared, his eyes narrowed sharply, a tinge of worry for the first ti creeping across his face.

And instantly after, his voice echoed, carrying across the hall with grave urgency.

"Sound the alarms! Get all the awakened out there now... get Ulric out of there!" he growled.

At his words, the rest of the elders turned to look at Lord Greyson in confusion. Even with all the feats the young lord had accomplished, he had remained silent before. What was the sudden cause for him to panic?

It didn’t take long for the answer to be revealed. As their eyes fell on the screen, now showing the fully exposed dungeon boss, gasps of shock erupted from the elders.

Previously, the dungeon boss was already a dangerous creature, making the Wolf Den dungeon one of the hardest dungeons to clear across Tempest City. Just by its presence alone.

But what they were staring at now was sothing entirely different. But that wasn’t the true cause of their shock.

It was the sigils racing across its body in a terrifying pattern. The clear, defining mark of beasts that had awakened their... bloodlines.

"The beast... it awakened a bloodline?" one elder muttered, his face dropping. Even the weakest bloodlines were known to amplify the strength of their wielders twofold.

This had long crossed over from a battle into almost certain death. They had to get the awakened out of there. Especially the young lord. He was too great an asset to lose.

Just the thought of it made their expressions visibly sour.

The elders rushed toward the green portal in a frenzy. Lord Greyson was at the front, already on the move as soon as realization dawned on him.

Before he suddenly stopped, watching as the green portal instantly flared into a dazzling red.

"It’s... evolving... the dungeon is evolving," he growled, part of his questions instantly answered.

It explained the sudden change. With the energy levels rising, it was enough to bring about mutations.

The dungeon boss awakening a bloodline was certainly not out of the question. At other tis, this would have been cause for celebration.

But with the awakened trapped inside, this was nothing but a death sentence. No one could enter or leave while dungeons were evolving.

And if soone didn’t kill the dungeon boss, all the beasts would evolve to E-rank instantly.

Killing all hope of survival. As all this flashed through the back of his mind, he growled out, a yell of frustration echoing through the hall as his aura slipped free, crushing down on the elders in the room.

The terrifying aura of a C-rank being pressed down on them.

"Who was in charge of monitoring the energy levels of the dungeon?!" he growled, ready to unleash all his frustration.

Before he suddenly stopped, feeling the backlash from the poison in his body raging within him as he dragged himself back into the chair.

The rest of the elders stood shaken before slowly regaining their composure, understanding the lord’s rage.

"This is all my fault," Elder Rysten stepped forward, a look of remorse covering his face.

Normally, dungeon energy levels would change slowly over ti before evolving.

But this had just suddenly spiked.

He opened his mouth to speak. "I’m ready to accept any punishnt..." But Lord Greyson cut him off.

Whatever had happened was already done.

There was nothing they could do about it now.

Looking back at the screen, Lord Greyson clenched his fingers. The fight Ulric was about to face was already impossible.

But he had seen him defy the impossible again and again.

Now as he looked forward, his eyes burned with sorrow and hope, willing him to pull off just one last miracle. He had to.

The other elders soon followed Lord Greyson’s lead, staring at the screen above and pinning all their hope on the young lord.

If he failed, the consequences would be too disastrous.

It would mark the beginning of the end of the Greyson residence. And with a rising star among them like Ulric.

It would almost be akin to flashing a sweet before a child... then eating it.
