The fleeting figure made Wang Mu’s heart skip a beat. Especially with the surrounding air becoming increasingly hot, this allowed Wang Mu to be certain. Because the village chief had said the Fla King Human-faced Lion possessed a special Fla Body, and its appearance would inevitably affect the environnt.
"Crap, the information from that tiger was inaccurate!" Wang Mu cursed under his breath.
To say it was inaccurate, it seed to be off by just a little in terms of timing.
"Wait a second... could it be that the Fla King Human-faced Lion discovered that our village captured the Tiger King? So it didn’t appear at the fixed ti the Tiger King ntioned?" Wang Mu startled. And it has already started to make preparations?
If that was the case, wasn’t this Fierce Beast’s spiritual wisdom too high? Was it still a Fierce Beast?
Most Fierce Beasts had low spiritual wisdom, relishing slaughter and being extrely violent by nature.
In the forest, a red figure flickered like lightning.
"Fla King Human-faced Lion, I think I’ve heard of this Fierce Beast!" Qin Yuyan exclaid in surprise. "It’s said to be a Fierce Beast that escaped from Gu Yun Mountain..."
Wang Mu tried to lock onto that red light with his peripheral vision, but it was too fast.
Oddly enough, he felt a bit excited.
Wang Mu glanced at Qin Yuyan, and a thought erged in his mind: Why not hunt this Fierce Beast right now.
"Brother Qin, you just used the Charming Sound Technique, which could deter the Gu Diao. Now..." Wang Mu whispered, "can you do it again?"
"It’s useless," Qin Yuyan coughed. "The sa spell has different effects on different Fierce Beasts... I feel that we should run now. This Fierce Beast is said to be very cunning, and I don’t have much Spiritual Power left in ."
"How do you know it’s useless if you haven’t tried?" Wang Mu wondered. "Think about it, we might not be able to escape if we try to run. Look around..."
Unbeknownst to them, a ring of firelight had already spread around them, converging slowly like a hunter’s net.
"This..." Qin Yuyan paused. This is bad.
"What spells can you still cast now?" Wang Mu asked.
"That... I can’t cast anything without Spiritual Power," Qin Yuyan said, his face sowhat embarrassed.
Wang Mu was silent for a mont. "Forget it then," he shook his head. "You run away by yourself when I hold off this Fierce Beast."
"Brother Wang, you’re joking, right?" Qin Yuyan looked disbelieving. "Although this Fierce Beast is much weaker than that Gu Diao, it’s not sothing you can handle. Even with my strength restored, we wouldn’t stand a chance in a direct fight."
"How are you going to hold it off?"
Wang Mu slowly took out the Giant Purple Bow. "With this, of course."
Qin Yuyan opened his mouth, at a loss for words.
What’s the deal with those two little rascals... Qin Yuyan thought to himself. They only said they would lure out the Gu Diao and create so private ti. How did they even bring out the Fla King Human-faced Lion? This is so troubleso!
"Stop dazing off and run," Wang Mu frowned. "If you can’t cast any spells, you’re just in the way here."
Qin Yuyan was taken aback for a mont. "Brother Wang, hold on!" he then turned around, his voice solemn. "I’ll co to rescue you imdiately after I find my followers!" With that, he ran off.
Wang Mu imdiately applied the few remaining Action Points for the month to Hunting, entering the Hunting mont.
His eyes sharp as a hawk’s, everything around Wang Mu seed to slow down.
Wang Mu slung his Arrow Quiver over his back, drew the bow, aid at the four streaks of red light darting through the forest, and without a second thought, let an arrow fly.
The arrow whistled through the air and, as if predicting its target, precisely hit the red light.
Except...
TSK...
A jeering roar echoed from all directions.
Wang Mu raised an eyebrow. His eyes darted around, but he was unable to identify the source of the sound.
At the sa ti, a searing hot fire arrow, shot from who knows where, flew towards the direction Qin Yuyan was fleeing.
A voice declared, "Your opponent is ."
Wang Mu scoffed, quickly drawing his bow and releasing another arrow.
Two different arrows collided at an angle in mid-air. An intense explosion rattled the air, a wave of extre heat billowing out. In an instant, nurous trees beca bare, their leaves and twigs turned to dust in the explosion, leaving only the sturdier branches barely intact but charred black.
Wang Mu leaped into the air. As the Fla Wave rushed towards him, it only left a faint mark on his body.
"So strong!" Wang Mu exclaid, touching his arm and feeling a slight burning sensation.
At that mont, a figure slowly materialized. Wang Mu saw it clearly.
It was a Fierce Beast with a head resembling a human’s but sporting a lion’s body.
Moreover, it stood upright, towering four or five ters high. It had a massive and imposing figure, draped in ancient, fla-wreathed Armor. The fiery mane on its head dispersed slightly with the air currents, and its face currently bore an expression of keen interest.
Almost identical to a human.
Is this guy a Fierce Beast or a person?
The mont Wang Mu saw the Fla King Human-faced Lion, he was stunned.
Most of the Fierce Beasts he had encountered so far seldom showed such complex emotions.
Either they wanted to kill you, or they cowered in fear.
Complex emotions are usually a trait of highly intelligent beings.
Without a second thought, Wang Mu drew his bow and shot an arrow. It flew incredibly fast, penetrating the air currents.
Almost faster than a bullet!
In the blink of an eye, it struck the Fla King Human-faced Lion.
However, the latter casually reached out, its rough palm clamping around the arrow.
No wonder it dares to show itself... Wang Mu thought, his resolve hardening.
It seems it has enough confidence in its own strength.
That’s perfect!
Wang Mu put away the Giant Purple Bow. Now that his foe had appeared, there was no need for it.
The Tiger King had said that the Fla King Human-faced Lion had a quirky nature and was very arrogant. In its view, humans were re food on its table, to be taken at its leisure.
Wang Mu took out the Mountain-shattering Bow.
After two years of nurturing, this Divine Artifact from Newbie Village is finally ready to be used.
Wang Mu drew an arrow, nocked it onto the bowstring, and once again aid at the Fla King Human-faced Lion.
The Fla King Human-faced Lion again made a ’TSK’ sound, seemingly mocking Wang Mu’s overestimation of his own abilities.
Wang Mu held his breath and focused. This would be his first ti using the Mountain-shattering Bow in earnest, though he had handled it during Hunting sessions before.
With his fingertips tensed, Wang Mu’s face turned blood-red, and a surging power flowed throughout his body.
The bowstring, sturdy as steel, was slowly drawn back.
The next instant, Wang Mu’s eyes sharpened!
In a flash, the Mountain-shattering Bow was pulled into a half-moon arc!
BOOM!
An air current erupted from Wang Mu as the center, radiating outwards!
The ground began to tremble as if a powerful force was gathering.
The Fla King Human-faced Lion’s expression changed slightly. It seed to sense sothing, and its figure flickered.
However...
BANG!
The arrow had already been shot! This shot created a tornado-like, terrifying air current that blasted forth!
All the trees and the ground in its path instantly shattered!
This was Wang Mu’s first ti using the Mountain-shattering Bow. Its power was sowhat beyond his expectations!
"So strong!" Wang Mu took a deep breath.
This bow truly is quite formidable.
No wonder it’s a Divine Artifact from Newbie Village!
