Now reading: Chapter 481 - 170: The Complex Sixth Life, The End of Ice Pr from Transmigration After Becoming Love Saint, a Eastern novel by Xia Shuqin.

In the other endings, this heroine basically doesn’t appear. Even if she does, she’s mostly just a background NPC with no interaction with the protagonist.

Her presence, compared to the other heroines, is actually very low.

In fact, when initially pursuing other endings, Wang Mu didn’t even know she could be pursued. This was because, for other routes, the beggar start was the optimal solution. Without the beggar start, there’s no Anle Village, and no Love Saint ending.

It was only when Wang Mu first started the Love Saint Route that he discovered that this girl, who was like a piece of background scenery in other endings, could also be pursued.

Wang Mu reflected, The first ti we t was when I was about to leave the village...

She was also the second heroine encountered on the Love Saint Route. The first was Yan Qingwu, whom he t in Newbie Village during the black bear incident. He t the second, An Qixiu, when leaving the village. This only occurred after he had cultivated various skills to a certain extent, so the conditions weren’t particularly high.

Even now, Wang Mu felt profoundly impacted by it.

When leaving the village, one needed to fish one last ti by the brook in Anle Village, and then An Qixiu would appear. She would appear across the brook, fishing, and would ask the protagonist which fish he preferred to catch.

At that ti in the ga, there actually weren’t many types of fish you could catch, just a few classic ones.

The Golden Fish represented wealth and power. It could be sold for money after being caught, inherently implying the route the protagonist might want to take: using wealth to aid the world. This was a special ending in the ga that didn’t require a high Fishing Skill.

The Water Swimming Fish represented freedom and carefreeness. Catching it improved one’s talents, symbolically aning the protagonist would beco a free-spirited Jianghu hero, upholding justice and aiding the weak. This was a traditional hero’s journey in the ga that required a higher Fishing Skill.

The Swallow Fish represented dominance and desire. Catching it bestowed the ’Peerless Overlord’ trait, symbolizing the protagonist’s future as a world-conquering Overlord—one who thrived with supporters and destroyed all opposition. This popular Overlord route in the ga demanded a very high Fishing Skill.

The Wangliang Fish—for even demons and monsters possess a True Heart—is a fish brimming with malevolence, truly aligning with the Evil Path. This route was exceptionally perverse. The protagonist wouldn’t just refuse to establish a Harem but would also eliminate any girls standing in his way, slaying Yan Qingwu, Nanrong Biyou, Mo Xilan, and Mu Hongyuan. He essentially beca a Heavenly Slaughter Star. Ultimately, to cultivate a Divine Skill, he would even castrate himself, ending up unmatched under heaven. Nobody could stand against him. The slaughter was thrilling, and players could learn the ga’s number one Evil Path technique, the Heavenly Ruin Faceless Skill.

The South Mountain Fish, alluding to ’longevity like that of South Mountain,’ granted an exceedingly long life when caught. One would live longer than others. With perseverance in Cultivation, even the less talented could achieve greatness. Eventually, they would leave the village invincible. However, because they cultivated for so long, they might miss out on many storylines. This was akin to a route where an older, powerful figure could directly challenge the final boss right after leaving the village.

The final type was the Yin Yang Fish. Embodying the principle of Yin Yang transformation, it was a Divine Fish of profound mysteries and required the highest Realm of Fishing Skill. It represented a special route, both righteous and evil, implying the Zhou Tian transformations. On this path, available only in the Love Saint Route, the protagonist would face increasingly unforeseeable and unimaginable trials. This fish existed only in legends; even with the highest Fishing Skill, one could not normally catch it.

Only after completing the conversation with An Qixiu, and the protagonist chose this as their favorite fish, could they catch this fish in Newbie Village.

One could say that the protagonist’s first eting with An Qixiu was quite special. To a certain extent, this use of fish to imply endings and routes had profoundly affected Wang Mu.

However, if one wanted to pursue An Qixiu, choosing the fish ntioned above only symbolized the route. It would not increase An Qixiu’s affection.

In fact, to pursue this mysterious heroine with a fleeting existence in the ga, one had to make a personal input choice here.

"That’s hard to say... When I was poor, I liked the Golden Fish. When in trouble, I liked the Water Swimming Fish. When bullied, I liked the Swallow Fish. When threatened, I liked the Wangliang Fish. Humans aren’t saints; how could they stick to one choice? I find myself in different circumstances, so naturally, I like different fish."

"As for that last Yin Yang Fish, it’s too elusive, beyond reach. Perhaps... I would only think of it when there are no other fish to catch."

"Why is that?"

"Because I only truly rember what I cannot obtain."

This statent seed to be a simple contemplation of human nature, but essentially, it ant ’I want them all.’ It was about entirely disregarding the implied aning of the different fish and making a choice from another perspective. This is what pursuing a character in the ga ant. So choices couldn’t be made directly; they required expressing a specific sentint, almost like a secret code, to unlock them. Uttering such words would greatly surprise An Qixiu, thereby gaining hidden affection... Of course, An Qixiu herself wouldn’t interpret the aning as ’I want them all.’ Rather, she would find it quite reasonable... and would respond to the protagonist with:

"The many facets of life, indeed."

"If you had the chance to catch the Yin Yang Fish, would you then forget about it afterward?"

"Such a Divine Fish, once caught, would naturally remain in my heart forever. How could I forget?"

Thus, the first encounter with An Qixiu concluded.

The protagonist was then able to catch the Yin Yang Fish from Newbie Village and also gained An Qixiu’s initial favor.
