Within the bounds of Great Wilderness City, because of the poor soil quality, many crops were hard to grow. After the Court fell into chaos, the tens of thousands of troops stationed in the northwest didn't even have provisions, let alone food.
The most troubling issue was the Barbarians outside the northwest, constantly eyeing them greedily and ready to ride out of Ancient River Pass, aiming straight for the Central Plains of the Li Dynasty.
It was at this ti that Imperial Princess Xiao Li arrived at Leisure Cloud Valley to see her own younger brother, Xiao Yu; this was the starting point.
By then, it was already the Mid Stage.
To enter the Dynasty storyline, one had to possess extrely high farming and cooking Skills by the ti Xiao Li was chatting with her brother.
This was in preparation to help Xiao Li overco her first major challenge.
Actually, calling it a casual chat was essentially her making final arrangents.
By that ti, Great Wilderness City could not hold out much longer. As siblings, she had co to Leisure Cloud Valley to see Xiao Yu for the last ti. If the protagonist did not appear then, Xiao Yu would leave Leisure Cloud Valley with his sister, join Great Wilderness City, and choose to live or die with her.
If the protagonist arrived later in the subsequent Great Wilderness City storyline, amid the turmoil caused by the Barbarians, they would only find Xiao Yu's and Xiao Li's tombstones on a desolate mountain.
If you didn't follow the Dynasty route, didn't wish to conquer Xiao Li, but also didn't want to see her die, you could join Great Wilderness City mid-ga. However, the difficulty was incredibly high; the Ancient River battle was completely indefensible, and you'd be dood anyway.
However, you could witness Xiao Li taking her own life on the desolate mountain, triggering her first special CG:
"Sky Falling Emperor."
Of course, generally, only players uninterested in the female lead would play it this way...
Alternatively, another solution was to choose the Wangliang Fish while fishing with An Qixiu in Newbie Village early on. Upon gutting it, you could obtain the Heavenly Ruin Unlimited Technique, a Supre Divine Skill in the ga.
It just required you to castrate yourself. This way, you could start Cultivation of the Supre Divine Skill right from Newbie Village, significantly speeding up the ga's progress.
In the Mid Stage, the protagonist would be invincible. Joining Great Wilderness City, alone with a sword, they would storm directly into the Barbarian camp, slay the Barbarian chief, and then perform a sky ritual at the Barbarian Lord Sacred Land Langjuxu Mountain to prove their supremacy to the world.
This was the simplest and most brutally satisfying route in the ga.
Later, by helping Xiao Li with ruthless thods, the protagonist was able to eliminate all her enemies by the Mid Stage.
However, his murderous tendencies grew too strong. After Xiao Li ascended to the throne as Empress, she beca extrely wary of him. Yet, grateful for his past help, she still appointed the protagonist as a Prince with a different surna in the Li Dynasty.
If still not satisfied, you could also kill Xiao Li, thereby becoming the first Eunuch Emperor in history. However, just a few years later, the protagonist would suffer from a lack of Yin Yang, leading to a great loss of Power, and the Dynasty would once again plunge into chaos.
This would trigger Xiao Li's second CG:
"Beside the Bed."
If, during this ti, the protagonist managed to level all his secondary professions to Full Level, then he could still be an enlightened Eunuch Monarch, extending the Dynasty's glory for decades.
Anyway, Wang Mu had experienced many endings on the Dynasty route.
Xiao Li was, in the original story, the female lead with the most CG images.
This was because there were too many routes.
The Dynasty route alone had many endings.
Even the Jianghu route had its unique endings with her.
One such ending occurs after the protagonist defeats Piao Miaoxu and unites the Jianghu. Unable to bear seeing the common folk suffer, the protagonist then calls upon all Martial Arts fellows to join forces with the Dynasty to resist foreign enemies.
But regardless of the route, the Ancient River battle could not be avoided.
Whether you participated or not, it would still happen.
With the emperor's sudden death, the foreign Barbarians naturally wouldn't miss this excellent opportunity and would send a large army eastward to end the Li Dynasty.
At that ti, Ancient River Pass was a treacherous pass near Great Wilderness City.
The area around Great Wilderness was all high mountains and perilous terrain; the only entry to the Central Plains was through Ancient River Pass.
Their military strength was several tis that of the troops in Great Wilderness City. Coupled with the lack of provisions, unstable morale, and poor food, they were essentially in no condition to fight.
No matter the outco, only the Love Saint ending involved a direct confrontation with the Barbarians that resulted in their defeat.
The self-castration route is a serious exploit. Without your 'lower part,' the ga naturally makes you incredibly powerful to compensate; otherwise, it wouldn't be balanced.
For the other routes, winning was extrely difficult.
In the later stages, the protagonist from the Love Saint ending was actually the strongest in terms of combat ability; even the protagonist from the self-castration route couldn't defeat them.
There was no way around it; the Love Stronger than Gold Diagram was too overpowered. As long as you conquered the female lead, you received an inherent battlefield BUFF. Gathering all seven types of BUFFs in the later stages made you unbeatable.
The entire course of the Ancient River battle... I rember it quite clearly...
Wang Mu mused.
Having said that, Wang Mu looked around.
He was surrounded by Military Seals. In the very center stood a cylindrical object resembling a Divine Crystal.
Great Wilderness Divine Crystal, Wang Mu whispered.
In the ga, this was the Outer Heaven Divine Stone that the protagonist helped Xiao Li find after joining Great Wilderness City during the Mid Stage and becoming her aide.
This type of stone had special properties. When placed in the city, it would gradually stabilize troop morale.
It provided a special battlefield enhancent.
It was considered one of the few heaven-defying items in the ga.
To be honest, he knew he would turn into a Virtual Body after arriving on the battlefield. Um... but actually experiencing it, there seed to be no difference. It felt just like a real person; it's just that I couldn't perceive any life fluctuations, as if... there were none.
Virtual Body... is it real or fake?
Wang Mu didn't have ti to dwell on it.
"Stop dawdling, you new recruits! The Barbarians are about to attack! Quickly follow to the square."
The Li Dynasty Primordial Spirit grabbed Wang Mu, urging, "The Great General himself is appearing to demonstrate his martial prowess and discipline the troops! Hurry and see the Great General—this might be your last chance!"
