She was the most special female lead in the ga, unique in many ways. First, she had no na. Second, there was no starting point for her questline. Third, she had no visual representation. Fourth, her origins were vague. And fifth, her strength was unfathomable.
Setting aside the Love Saint ending, even in the normal storyline, one could only reach the Dark Border and encounter this female lead by following Mo Xilan's path and triggering the Immortal Sorrow subplot.
Although there were many such peculiarities, this female lead was also exceptionally unique.
Her appearance and actual features were never seen. Even in the Love Saint ending's CG, only a vague, shadow-like outline of her was visible, yet she still left a deep impression on Wang Mu.
The one-year developnt period in the Dark Border felt incredibly long because there was so little to do. Interaction with the female lead was impossible during the first half; only in the latter half could they interact. So, in reality, there were only a few months' worth of actual events.
Her identity, though shrouded in mystery, was simply that of a Guardian stationed at the Dark Border.
She had no contact with the outside world, yet she wasn't completely clueless. As for her personality, it was innocent and simple, straightforward and ordinary.
Among all the female leads, Ying herself was a very simple one.
Yet, she was also the most mysterious female lead, her mystique stemming from the unique location of the Dark Border and her identity.
Her simplicity stemd from the fact that she had always been there, living the sa monotonous life day after day, year after year. She was undisturbed by any information from the outside world, the sense of duty as a Guardian running deep in her blood.
The story arc in the Dark Border was also one of the most unique experiences for the main character.
In the Love Saint Route, among the seven apparent female leads, the questlines for Xiao Li and Ying were both hidden from most players.
One had changed her identity; the other was in a special location.
While Xiao Li's path still intertwined with the main ga world, Ying's path had absolutely no connection with it.
No connection ant no intersection, which in turn ant that she, as a person, could hardly be noticed or known by anyone from the outside world.
She was destined to remain in darkness, generation after generation.
Wang Mu had shared this story with the Moon Palace Fairy primarily to see if this Immortal knew of that special place, the Dark Border.
At the sa ti, he harbored a pure and simple desire to confide, to let this previously unknown experience see a sliver of the world's light.
After recounting the mory, Wang Mu was filled with emotion.
In the ga, after the main character left the Dark Border, he never returned.
The story with Ying was, in fact, more like a pact with a Guardian, rather than a traditional romance "conquest."
Inside the Divine Light Mirror, there was silence for a while.
[Moon God: That's it?]
[Wang Mu: That's it?]
[Moon God: An unfinished story. What about the follow-up?]
[Wang Mu: Follow-up? There is none.]
[Moon God: Impossible. Didn't that youth nad Dongfang Mu go back to see her?]
Wang Mu: "..."
The ga was over; how could he go back?
Actually, it wasn't that he didn't go back. Afterwards, the main character brought back the Evil Ghost's Buddha Heart. He also took so corpses of the Dark Alien Race, their Evil Artifacts, and a sample of Ying's blood for research.
After returning to Leisure Cloud Valley and discussing it with Mo Xilan, they used Ying's blood to create a Blood Poison effective against the Dark Alien Race. The main character then traveled to the Dark Border again to deliver this Blood Poison to Ying. However, the visit was brief. He didn't et her and left shortly after dropping off the items.
[Wang Mu: Isn't the ending good?]
[Moon God: Not at all. How is it good if the lovers don't end up together? No, wait. That youth didn't go back. There's only one possibility: he must have more lovers in the outside world.]

In the ga's setting, it wasn't actually a heart.
The Evil Ghost's Buddha Heart was, in fact, a special item unique to Ying.
Of course, in the ga's lore, Ying's race was never clearly disclosed. Whether she was human or ghost wasn't important.
However, after the protagonist left the Dark Border, he would receive a special Constitution buff: the Ghost Buddha's Heart.
This buff was quite special. Only with it could one execute the Peerless blade technique taught by Ying. Under its effects, one's overall strength would significantly increase, and their Power would recover rapidly.
Of course, the most important elent was actually the saber—the Shadow Hong Saber.
This saber, originating from the Dark Border and once wielded by Ying's father, had been gifted to the main character, who then used it to slay many mbers of the Dark Alien Race.
Within the Dark Border, the saber's power was particularly terrifying.
