Qin Ye noticed her disfort and began to regret not bringing something for motion sickness.
"You’re not feeling well, are you? I’ll go ask the conductor if they have any medicine for motion sickness..."
He was about to call out.
Rong Yan directly stretched out her hand and tugged at him, "No need, I don’t get motion sickness."
She was just allergic to the smell inside the bus.
The bus was filled with all sorts of body odor mixed with other somewhat unpleasant smells; she was just a bit unaccustomed.
Qin Ye glanced at her plexion, then looked around, and then said to Rong Yan, "You sit for a while; I’ll be right back."
Rong Yan didn’t wait to ask what he was going to do, when she saw him head toward the back of the bus...
Because he had his back to her, she couldn’t see clearly what he was doing.
It wasn’t long before Qin Ye came back.
He sat down, spreading his hand in front of Rong Yan, "Here, have some candy."
Rong Yan saw that he had quite a few in his hand, "You bought these from someone in the back."
Qin Ye nodded, "Yes, I gave them twenty cents."
The person initially intended to let him have two pieces for free.
But Qin Ye naturally couldn’t just take things without paying, so he gave twenty cents.
The person then scooped up a small handful for him.
Hearing this made Rong Yan feel a bit conflicted.
"Thank you!" She wasn’t motion sick, just disliked the smell inside the bus.
Nevertheless, since the sweets were now in her hand, she couldn’t very well insist they be returned.
She only took two pieces, "You eat the rest."
"I don’t like sweets; you keep them and eat slowly."
Since Qin Ye had put it that way, Rong Yan really couldn’t keep pushing the candy back and forth over a few pieces.
The two-hour bus ride was no short journey, and with the road being somewhat bumpy, Rong Yan truly didn’t want to take this bus a second time.
Seeing as there was nothing else to do, she simply closed her eyes to rest...
It was only a while after she closed her eyes that Qin Ye turned his head to look at her face.
He hadn’t expected her closed eyes to look so beautiful, her eyelashes especially long, her nose lovely as well.
Her lips too... and even her skin was especially fine.
From his angle, he could even see the fine vellus hair on her skin.
Some people were truly born beautiful... She had endured so much hardship in the Rong Family, but this had not affected her appearance in the slightest.
Rong Yan had always been very perceptive, and since she hadn’t fallen asleep, how could she not notice Qin Ye’s intense gaze on her face?
However, she didn’t open her eyes, reasoning that he couldn’t possibly keep staring at her for the entire trip.
Indeed, Qin Ye didn’t do that; after all, he couldn’t just stare for two hours straight, could he?
So, when he realized his gaze had lingered for too long, he looked away.
The whole trip passed in silence... the two hours weren’t too hard to bear because Rong Yan had fallen asleep without realizing it.
When she woke up, she found her head leaning on Qin Ye’s shoulder.
Rong Yan: ?...
Could she really have slept that deeply?
This was indeed quite embarrassing for her.
She quickly sat straight up.
"You’re awake? We’re about to arrive; we’ll be able to get off soon," Qin Ye said with a gentleness he wasn’t even aware of.
When Rong Yan leaned on his shoulder earlier... he couldn’t have been happier.
In fact, he hadn’t moved a bit, maintaining a motionless posture, deeply worried that even a slight move might wake her.
Rong Yan felt somewhat unfortable inside, but that lasted only two seconds before she calmed down and responded with a word, "Mhm."
