Chapter 1016: Chapter 1017: The Lonely Village Girl 61

Li Cui was listlessly cooking braised beef, and Zhang Yu was genuinely worried seeing the old lady like this.

“Grandma, take it easy; this is everyone’s beef.” If sothing goes wrong, Zhang Yu wouldn’t know how to compensate the other party.

Even if they say it’s okay, with so much at, would she really feel comfortable compensating them?

Li Cui looked at Zhang Yu wistfully, “It was hard finding a nice young man, and yet it turned out like this.”

The old lady was unhappy thinking about it; originally, she thought there was hope for her granddaughter’s marriage, but it ended up empty.

Zhang Yu smiled helplessly, understanding that for the old lady obsessed with her granddaughter’s future husband and keen to hold a fourth generation, this was the most important thing.

Li Cui fiercely stir-fried the beef, huffing, “Really, what’s the rush?”

“Do you know your parents had already confird their feelings by your age?”

“When it cos to you, you actually say there’s no rush?” Li Cui withdrew a hand, and heavily pointed at Zhang Yu’s nodding head.

Ah ah ah, Zhang Yu could only grin foolishly. She couldn’t help it; accustod to marrying around thirty or even staying single, she truly felt that being single was great.

Sadly, in this era, not getting married was impossible, which would drive Li Cui crazy, especially since even her employer hoped she would marry and have children.

“Grandma, it’s not that I’m thinking to take our ti to choose, otherwise we might end up entrusting to the wrong person. Just look at Feng Lan inviting her useless nephew from her family.” Zhang Yu just happened to see Feng Hao strutting in the courtyard.

“Feng Lan’s brother is already useless enough, and her nephew Feng Hao, whom she praises as the most promising, I see as even more of a fool.”

Zhang Yu rcilessly summarized with venom, “Feng’s house is really dood, the sons are useless, and the grandson is a failure.”

Li Cui looked with disgust at Feng Hao in the courtyard. From the mont this big fool appeared, she knew what Feng Lan and her husband had in mind.

Even knowing Zhang Yu wouldn’t fancy that loser, Li Cui still reminded her again, “Stay away from that idiot Feng Hao.”

“I’m worried this guy can’t pursue you directly, so he might pull so dirty trick later.” Li Cui just feared Feng Hao would resort to this in the end.

“Actually, back then Liu Dashan and his wife didn’t fancy Feng Lan, although Liu Gang liked Feng Lan, he was a dutiful son.”

“Feng Lan married Liu Gang with a child on the way, otherwise Feng Family mbers would’ve reported them.” Li Cui never used to talk about these things.

Now that Zhang Yu was an adult capable of supporting the family, Li Cui thought she could share a thing or two with Zhang Yu.

Ah ah ah, Zhang Yu never imagined that Feng Lan managed to get on board through such ans.

“How co I’ve never heard the neighbors ntion it?” You know, the courtyard neighbors are really gossipy; such major news couldn’t possibly remain unspoken.

Li Cui rolled her eyes, “Do you think the Liu Family would let everyone discuss such a shaful thing?”

“Soone spread the news before, Wang Pandi imdiately went over and pulled out quite a bit of the person’s hair.”

Even though it’s been ages, Li Cui still rembers the fight, “After that, no one brought it up again.”

Zhang Yu understood, “Such a thing can succeed once but won’t work again later.”

“Grandma, rest assured, I’m not blind or foolish. As if I’d take a fancy to him.”

“Just a flashy buffoon.”

“But since Feng Hao ca here, I feel lots of young girls in the courtyard have beco quite lively.” Zhang Yu noticed a teenage girl coming to the courtyard to wash things.

Then, while washing clothes, she chatted with Feng Hao.

After glancing a few tis, Zhang Yu was about to look away, only to see Feng Hao throwing her a flirtatious look.

Zhang Yu shivered, quickly turning her head away.

“What’s up?” Li Cui tasted the dish, missing Feng Hao’s eye gesture.

“Feng Hao threw a flirtatious look.” Zhang Yu shivered again.

Ah, Li Cui never thought Feng Hao could pull off such a move, “That rascal.”

“Throwing a flirtatious look is one thing, but talking with the person next to him?” Zhang Yu shook her head, “This person just eats from a bowl while thinking about the pot.”

Zhang Yu paused, “A buffoon is one thing, but he actually thinks he’s very charming.”

Li Cui snorted a few tis, “If this person doesn’t leave soon, I’m truly worried the courtyard won’t remain scandal-free.” Li Cui was genuinely concerned.

Seeing Li Cui’s worried face, Zhang Yu patted her shoulder, “Why are you worried? Don’t they know Feng’s family’s background?”

“Feng Hao’s kind of crap, young girls may not see the issue, but their parents and elders surely notice sothing?”

“They see sothing, but believe Feng Lan guaranteed that she’ll definitely treat this nephew well, as her own son.”

“Feng Lan is the kind of woman who supports her family to the end, and now with Liu Qiang needing to compensate 1000 yuan, everyone is watching.”

Liu Gang said this money would go to Liu Ke for his treatnt and recuperation, but Zhang Yu didn’t believe it at all.

“No way.” Li Cui was shocked, “Liu Ke is her son, her biological son; she surely wouldn’t be so muddle-headed.”

No matter how good a family nephew is, can he be better than her own son? “When she grows old, if Feng Family mbers are supposed to care for her, they wouldn’t bother.”

“Besides, I’ve never heard of elderly people with sons being cared for by nephews.” Li Cui had only heard of childless elders being cared for by nephews and nieces.

Well, “Maybe Feng Lan thinks that with all she’s done for her family, and how she cares for them, they’d look after her.” Zhang Yu could sowhat guess.

“Of course, there’s another possibility; maybe Feng Lan never planned to rely on her family, and for her retirent, her son is still the answer.” This is the behavior fitting for a qualified ‘fudi mo’.

Li Cui was speechless, “She’s not thinking, okay, let’s not ntion them anymore; since Liu Gang is not worried, why should we be?”

Zhang Yu looked at the portioned braised beef, “Why hasn’t anyone co yet?” It’s almost ti for work.

Though the instructor said arriving later is okay, as a qualified worker, being late certainly shouldn’t be her style.

Looking at the lunch boxes before her, Zhang Yu was deeply worried, How could she carry all these lunch boxes by herself?

There’s also Xiao Qiao, wasn’t he supposed to promise to co help carry the lunch boxes?

While Zhang Yu was fretting, Xiao Qiao’s figure appeared at the door, “I calculated the ti, and it should be about ready.”

Zhang Yu responded, “It’s already done, take a look.”

Xiao Qiao sniffed the air, “Slls good, Grandma Li’s cooking really is tasty.”

To the complint, Li Cui waved it off, “It’s nothing, nothing, just so ho cooking.”

“It tastes great.” Xiao Qiao helped to cover the lunch boxes, “I might eat two bowls for dinner today.”

“Are you on duty today?” Zhang Yu popped a question.

Li Cui looked at her in surprise, saying it didn’t matter, but if it were just an ordinary colleague relationship, is there really a need to care this much?
