Chapter 1488: Chapter 1489: The Frustrated Eldest Mistress 98

After a trip around Arica, Zhang Yu returned to Harbor City with the team and Zhang Lili.

The team took a few days off as usual, and Zhang Yu started handling transition matters with Zhang Lili.

“Be prepared, it’s quite a lot.” Zhang Yu pinched his nose, looked at his daughter who hadn’t taken it very seriously, and gave a slight reminder.

Quite a lot? Zhang Lili thought it must be a large amount, “I’m prepared.”

Zhang Yu started with Aifen’s shares, which left Zhang Lili stunned, “Does this count as family business?”

“Yes, although I founded it single-handedly, there are now many shareholders, we’re just the major shareholder, and they’re managing quite well.”

As the company expanded, there were more situations to deal with. Zhang Yu couldn’t always be present to manage these matters, so of course, he swiftly absorbed investnts and waited comfortably for dividends.

“Collect them.” Zhang Yu instructed Zhang Lili to take them, and then transition the remaining company investnt shares.

Zhang Lili initially thought Aifen’s shares were already plenty, but as the transition process moved forward, she was genuinely shocked.

“Mom, how do you have shares in this company?” knowing that in the past two years the company had been running well, basically not accepting new investors.

Most importantly, the company had very promising prospects, with many investnt banks eager to assist with an IPO.

“A stroke of luck.” Zhang Yu briefly recounted how she ca to invest in this company, “I also know quite a few investnt banks, including your forr employer, want to take this company public.”

This was not much of a secret, Zhang Lili acknowledged.

“But, including the founder, all shareholders feel there’s no need to go public.”

“The strongest companies are never the public ones.” Zhang Yu has always adhered to this principle.

“Public companies have too many requirents, shareholders need to see profits, sotis it’s just shortsightedness.”

Zhang Lili used to think public companies were so impressive, but after working in investnt banking for a long ti, knowing more, she really didn’t think so anymore.

“And it’s not uncommon for founders to be directly ousted by investors, it’s standard practice.”

Even the father of Apple was ousted, later returning only when Apple was in decline; if it had continued to thrive, whether that charismatic founder could return is an unknown.

“So in the future, no matter who approaches you, if those people from this company don’t ntion going public, you shouldn’t persuade them.”

Zhang Yu continued explaining, while Zhang Lili slowly moved from initial shock to a calr state.

She finally understood why her elder always said that wealthy people in terms of numbers weren’t truly wealthy, because the shares under the old lady’s na might add up to surpass the current richest person in Harbor City.

By the ti Zhang Yu completed the entire transition, five days had passed.

Knowing transition would take quite so ti, Zhang Yu was prepared, but didn’t expect it to require so much ti.

At least it gave her a good understanding of how over the years, a bit invested here, a bit there, she had unexpectedly accumulated so much wealth.

Zhang Yu walked to the window, “From now on, this is on you. As for those people I previously brought along…”

The initial plan was to leave them for Zhang Lili, but later she worried, Zhang Lili had her own ideas.

She knew her own nature well, genuinely not hardworking enough.

As for the subordinates she trained, Zhang Yu knew well, they were already gradually aligning with her, a bit too free.

Following her, of course, there were no issues, but when it ca to following Zhang Lili, it might not be suitable.

Honestly, Zhang Lili wasn’t too inclined to keep them either; they were capable and efficient, but really too free.

Keeping them, how would new employees view it?

Seeing Zhang Lili remain silent, Zhang Yu understood she wasn’t keen, “Then I’ll speak to them.”

Over the years following her, they earned quite a bit; whether they continue to work or stay ho comfortably is up to them.

Zhang Yu knew there had been offers to poach them over the years, but they hadn’t left; if they choose to leave, they certainly wouldn’t lack work.

What surprised her was, these people chose another option.

Zhang Yu looked at the few before her, “You plan to follow ?”

“Yes.”

“Are you saying Director Zhang is retiring from the world?”

Zhang Yu shook her head, “That’s impossible, most of the family assets I’ve handed over, including the shares from my trip to Arica.”

Having handed over most of the assets, what remains with Zhang Yu were mostly cash, she certainly needed to accumulate so more assets.

“Since you’re going to invest again, take us along.”

“Yes, we’re willing to work without a share.” Their trust in Zhang Yu was paramount, the outside world praised the team, but much of the credit went to Zhang Yu.

She couldn’t bring herself to let them continue working without a share, after negotiation, they reached a new sharing ratio.

And so, Zhang Yu perfectly cut her industry and family ties.

Zhang Han knew Zhang Yu had been busy since her return, handling matters he assud were to accelerate Zhang Lili’s understanding.

What he didn’t expect was, upon eting Zhang Yu again, she dropped such a bombshell from her mouth.

“Sister, you’re saying you’re planning to retire?” Zhang Han’s eyes widened.

Zhang Yu acknowledged, “Ever since Feng Hao passed away, I’ve been pondering one thing, to start training the next generation early.”

“Besides, my industry will eventually be handed over to Lilly.” Zhang Yu’s early transition was with the thought that while she still had so ability, if Zhang Lili made mistakes, she could still make ands.

“Moreover, now everyone thinks the kids are still young, inexperienced, maybe let them take over a bit later.”

“All forgetting how young they were when they started their own ventures.” Zhang Yu felt it was the environnt that shaped people.

“Brother, let’s take a trip to Japan for hot springs.” Zhang Yu invited Zhang Han and his wife to join the hot springs trip.

This ti, Zhang Han didn’t hesitate, “Sure, when are we going?”

“I’m just a free person now, when we go depends on your wishes,” Zhang Yu is genuinely relaxed now, always ready to depart.

Zhang Han could also leave at any ti, but it depended on his sister’s will, “You’ve already let Lilly take over, haven’t considered throwing a party or sothing, to inform others?”

“I know most of your investnts are in Europe and Arica.” There weren’t no investnts in Harbor City, but truly not many.

“Here is essentially your ho base, since you handed over most of the family authority to Lilly, you should let everyone know.” Zhang Han saw Zhang Yu’s dumbfounded look, realizing this silly girl hadn’t even thought of it.
