Capítulo 1527: Chapter 1528: Three Failures Girl 35
“Hard work always pays off.” Ye Zhuo clapped his hands. “The bonus from last ti will be credited in the next few days.”
Ye Zhuo knew the only way to make his team work diligently was to offer generous rewards. Otherwise, how could they stay motivated?
Once everyone heard that the bonus was about to be credited, they beca excited. If they were envious of Zhang Yu for winning a big prize before, no one was envious now.
Although they didn’t know the exact amount, it was certain that the bonus they receive wouldn’t be any less.
Many started planning how to spend the money. With the Spring Festival approaching, there were more expenses to consider, requiring careful budgeting.
Zhang Yu just listened. Although she completed a small part of the task last ti, it was negligible, so she wasn’t expecting much.
Still, it was good news for her. Monts ago, everyone envied her for winning big, but now nobody had ti to envy her as their bonuses would be no less than her prize money.
In a cheerful atmosphere, they smoothly completed the report eting. “Very good,” Ye Zhuo made a brief comnt, then continued to assign the next stages of work.
Once again, Zhang Yu was unexpectedly given a rather heavy task. In the past, so would have protested, feeling that Zhang Yu’s qualifications and capabilities couldn’t handle so much.
But now they recognized Zhang Yu’s abilities. Last week, she even managed to slip away for a day to attend a eting and still managed to finish an analysis report without delaying her other work.
Before the eting ended, Ye Zhuo called out a few nas, asking them to co to his office afterward.
Those whose nas were called felt anxious. They glanced at each other, not knowing exactly why they were called but sure it was related to the reports they wrote earlier.
Since their work was interconnected, they all could clearly sense that the data and reports they compiled weren’t done well.
For work not done well, unless it was sothing extre, like with Zhang Yu previously, Ye Zhuo would always handle it discreetly, calling them to the office to discuss.
Zhang Yu packed up her computer and caught up with Ye Zhuo. “Boss, I’d like to take so ti off.”
“Going to claim your prize?” Ye Zhuo was a bit surprised. The draw was on Saturday, and she was heading out eagerly today to collect it – was there really such a rush?
“Yes, I’m moving and need to pay six months’ rent and buy furniture.”
“Most importantly, since I’m going to claim it eventually, I might as well get it sooner.” What’s there not to say about it?
Ye Zhuo gave a light-hearted acknowledgnt. “Last ti, you ntioned you plan to invest in stocks and futures; how’s that going?” He was genuinely curious.
“It’s okay, made a small profit.” Zhang Yu was a bit surprised Ye Zhuo asked about this, as he typically never inquired about subordinates’ personal affairs.
Small profit? Ye Zhuo looked at Zhang Yu, feeling amused, “You an it’s not bad at all.”
Passing by Zhang Yu’s desk once, he noticed her watching news related to oil. “You’re involved in oil futures? The market has been quite volatile lately.”
Ah, Zhang Yu was indeed trading oil futures, and he guessed it right. Her face showed surprise; how could he read minds?
“I saw you reading news about oil the last ti I walked past your desk,” Ye Zhuo said with so amusent.
Oh, that’s how he guessed she was trading oil futures, just by seeing her looking at oil-related news. Impressive. “That’s right.”
“I just have a small position and didn’t use leverage.” Although using leverage could lead to higher earnings, it also ant greater pressure. Zhang Yu decided against it.
Ye Zhuo was amused by her last comnt, “Why not use leverage?” Generally, those dabbling in futures are bold, and using leverage is common practice.
“I’m concerned about the risks; the market moves too fast, and it’s quite stressful,” Zhang Yu replied straightforwardly.
Why trade futures if it’s stressful? Ye Zhuo was amused by her words, “If you find it stressful, why trade futures at all?”
“I’m broke, I have no money,” Zhang Yu answered bluntly.
So colleagues walking by were taken aback by her words. If she’s broke, she should be more prudent, like trading stocks, so why venture into futures?
Despite working in investnt banking, not many people traded futures. Even if so did, few made money from it. Why did Zhang Yu dare to plunge into it, especially in futures trading?
“You’re broke, yet trading futures?” Ye Zhuo really couldn’t figure out Zhang Yu’s thought process. Was this a generational gap?
“Because it’s a quick way to make money. I’ve studied it before and created a model, then felt oil had potential for trading.”
“Considering the situations in the Middle East and South Arica, I realized there was significant room for operation.”
“However, everything has its risks, especially politically, so I’m cautious,” Zhang Yu emphasized how she really researched before jumping in.
The onlookers were astonished. What model? Does trading this require a model? They couldn’t comprehend.
As for researching politics, that wasn’t surprising since the fluctuation in oil prices had so political ties.
Compared to the astonished looks around, Ye Zhuo was visibly shocked. “A model, you actually made a model?”
Zhang Yu nodded, “Just a simple model.”
“Even a simple model is sothing.” Having worked on Wall Street, Ye Zhuo knew about investnt models. Investing using this thod once created miracles for an investnt firm.
Many companies on Wall Street, upon learning about it, started investing in such research. Back ho, not many adopted this model because building such a model isn’t easy.
What surprised and delighted him was Zhang Yu applying such a model, “Did you do it all on your own?”
Everyone noticed Ye Zhuo’s expression becoming very serious, speculating about the kind of model Zhang Yu ntioned, and why it made him so excited.
Zhang Yu nodded, “Yes, I once heard Professor Ouyang ntion it, so I had the idea, working on it over two years.”
It wasn’t Zhang Yu making things up; the original Zhang Yu really researched this. Unfortunately, Zhang Yu felt sorry for the original person, who devoted too much to a relationship and got severely impacted. Otherwise, the achievents afterward wouldn’t have been low.
An individual spent two years creating a simple model and then entered the futures market for a trial run. Ye Zhuo cald his excitent, “Could we discuss this in my office?”
With the boss asking, Zhang Yu could only head to Ye Zhuo’s office first. Although curious, the others returned to their seats, pondering, “What model could make the boss so excited?”
“Yeah, especially since it was ntioned by Professor Ouyang.” They might be curious if it were only Zhang Yu’s work, but hearing it was Professor Ouyang’s suggestion definitely piqued their interest.
“Exactly, and it got the boss so excited.” Although Ye Zhuo was usually quite reserved, they still noticed his reaction.
Monts that could get the boss this excited were rare. Considering he had returned from Wall Street and seen many major scenes, for him to get this excited was really uncommon.
