Zhao Xu knew that he and Qiao Lili couldn’t go back to the way things were and had considered divorce after Zhao Xuan was admitted to college.

He thought that Qiao Lili, who always put her daughter first, would have the sa idea, but what he hadn’t expected was that she didn’t think that way.

When he received the call, he was completely dumbfounded, thinking it was just a prank.

He couldn’t believe it was real—he hadn’t imagined Qiao Lili had soone else outside.

Well, he wasn’t actually very surprised. In fact, his reaction was sowhat normal, considering soone had a history like this.

What he hadn’t anticipated was that Qiao Lili would have a child, and then her lover’s wife would co knocking at their door. Zhao Xu really didn’t know what to say.

No matter how much he felt like cursing, now that his daughter had called him, he had no option but to take leave and co back.

Qiao Lili watched Zhao Xu appear before her, involuntarily shrinking back. She, too, was considering how to suppress the whole situation.

She could accept divorce, but only if she got most of the family assets.

But before she could co up with a solution, Zhao Xu had returned, utterly frightening her.

"You said you want a divorce, and Xiao Xuan stays with you?" It wasn’t surprising that Zhao Xuhui proposed divorce, but the idea of their daughter going with him was absolutely impossible.

Zhao Xu nodded, "Yes, otherwise, do you think our daughter would have a good life with you?"

"The neighbors all give judgntal looks, no matter whether you can bear it or not, that’s the consequence you reap from your actions."

"But Xiao Xuan is innocent, she wasn’t involved in any of this." Zhao Xu understood why Qiao Lili didn’t want to give up Zhao Xuan.

It’s not reluctance about losing her daughter—it’s reluctance about losing money.

"As for the house, leave it for Xiao Xuan. I don’t want it. I don’t know whether you’ll continue with that man, but I feel it’s best to leave it to our daughter."

"I don’t agree." Of course, Qiao Lili wouldn’t agree with this plan. "Won’t Xiao Xuan get married in the future? What if she makes a stupid choice and picks a man with nothing?"

"Can’t even afford a marriage ho, insists on living in this house, kicks out—what then?" Qiao Lili adamantly disagreed.

Zhao Xu neither had the ti nor energy to argue with her, "If you want to continue arguing, then go ahead, but you cheated—it’s a fact. Do you think once it goes to court, how will they rule?"

"Moreover, have you asked Xiao Xuan if she wants to live with you?" Zhao Xu suspected Qiao Lili hadn’t asked Zhao Xuan that question.

"If my daughter doesn’t live with , she’ll live with you?" Qiao Lili was very confident that she was the best person to take care of Qiao Lili, in her perspective.

"What’s wrong with living with ?" Zhao Xu said sothing that shattered Qiao Lili, "It’s Xiao Xuan who said she wants to live with ."

Qiao Lili was shocked; she hadn’t thought Zhao Xuan would so readily abandon her, leaving her unable to tolerate it.

Furiously, she turned to Zhao Xuan, "Zhao Xuan, you’re you’re actually choosing to live with your dad? You think I embarrass you?"

Qiao Lili had been through a lot and was already on the verge of a ntal breakdown; now she realized that Zhao Xuan, whom she always assud would stick with her, just as firmly betrayed her.

"Zhao Xuan, oh Zhao Xuan, you really are my good daughter. You think I embarrass you now. You believe living with your dad can sohow cover this up?"

Qiao Lili hadn’t intended to speak, knowing her reputation was tarnished. Even if she hadn’t quit her job and continued to work in the factory, life wouldn’t be easy.

She wanted to find a wealthy man, but it was really difficult, or rather, practically impossible, so she pinned all her hopes on Zhao Xuan.

Yet this wretched girl, seeing things were bad, actually wanted to jump off her taphorical ship, which left Qiao Lili unable to accept.

Since this girl had already abandoned her, and after she has a better life, would she still care about her biological mother?

No, definitely not. Given this, ruining this daughter wouldn’t matter.

Watching Qiao Lili’s rising smile, Zhao Xuan knew sothing was wrong. Just as she was about to speak, Qiao Lili chuckled and said, "Zhao Xu, I admit I cheated, I have soone outside, and I have his child."

"I know I’m in the wrong, but Zhao Xu, have you done right? You changed jobs and went to work far away and didn’t co back."

"I don’t know your inco, every month you give a thousand, and then you don’t care about anything else."

"Whether our daughter’s grades are good or bad, none of it concerns you. I’m depressed, I’m lonely, and you don’t care."

"Then once, when I went shopping with Xiao Xuan, I bumped into him. It started with just having a al together."

"Then when sothing broke at ho, he would call soone for repairs, and when I felt unwell, he would take to the hospital."

"I knew he had a wife, but I wouldn’t be with him."

"But you know what? Your daughter actually told that since you’re working away and possibly have soone else out there with temptations all around."

"She even told this man is good to , and it’d be worth considering." Qiao Lili spilled out everything Zhao Xuan had tried to persuade her into.

Zhao Xu was completely stunned; he hadn’t expected this at all, looking at Zhao Xuan in disbelief.

Zhao Xuan, hearing Qiao Lili speak out, had contemplated not selling her out, but she thought Qiao Lili only had her for a daughter, and wouldn’t possibly have a child, why do such a foolish thing?

But the result was that Qiao Lili really sold her out like that—what now? Shocked, Zhao Xuan couldn’t bear to et Zhao Xu’s gaze.

She knew Qiao Lili was finished, which is why she thought of hopping onto Zhao Xu’s boat, but who could have known Qiao Lili would do such a thing, infuriating her.

Zhao Xuan was slow to react, as her father, Zhao Xu understood what Qiao Lili said was the truth; otherwise, Zhao Xuan would have jumped out to refute it.

The patients in the sa ward as Qiao Lili and their families were all shocked. They had heard of this woman’s affair and the fact that she had her lover’s child.

They despised Qiao Lili greatly; what they hadn’t expected was that this woman’s child could do such a thing, leaving everyone stunned.

Even though they didn’t know Zhao Xuan well, if she were truly wronged, and with it being such a big matter, how could she not rebut it? Certainly, she would rebuke it, but she did not react, wasn’t that tacit consent?

Zhao Xu took a deep breath, "Whatever Zhao Xuan said is her matter, but you, as the one directly involved and an adult, should know how to choose."

"But you insisted on taking this path, all your choice, don’t shift it onto our daughter." So what can be done? Qiao Lili’s reputation was already ruined, and Zhao Xuan’s mustn’t be tarnished.
