Zhang Yu heard about Qiao Lili’s situation again only years later.

So much ti had passed that it was assud the matter had been resolved long ago. "How could it drag on for so long?"

"It’s not that it dragged on, but who would’ve thought that it would be entangled for so long." Feng Liya still felt a tinge of regret.

Was the connection widespread? Zhang Yu suddenly recalled a news report she saw two days ago, "Mom, could it be the news about the underground casino bust?"

Feng Liya nodded several tis, "I always found it strange; Qiao Lili was generous with pretty young girls at the ti. I thought she wanted to send them to entertainnt venues."

"It turned out I only guessed half right. Not only did they go to entertainnt venues, but also to underground casinos. After these girls earned money, they were enticed to gamble, and then lured into trying illegal substances."

Feng Liya recalled those inside stories, a chill running down her spine, "How could those people be so despicable?"

Oh my God, Zhang Yu was dumbfounded. She initially thought Qiao Lili and her associates were enticing young girls into misconduct, but didn’t realize it could be this excessive.

"Using young girls to extract money from wealthy n, only to reclaim the hard-earned money through gambling, truly a perfect closed loop."

This thought made Zhang Yu curious, "If those young girls couldn’t escape this trap, Qiao Lili and her associates likely couldn’t either."

Qiao Lili and her group were not the major bosses; they were rely small pawns, albeit profitable ones. How could those people spare them?

"Right, you have no idea that the wealthy n Qiao Lili introduced to Zhao Xuan were actually their creditors."

"To outsiders, they looked glamorous, as if they were doing well, but in reality, they were heavily in debt."

"It’s said that their house and car had long been mortgaged, and they borrowed a considerable amount from loan sharks." Feng Liya recalled Qiao Lili’s previous arrogant deanor, unsure how to react.

What? Even loan sharks were involved? Oh my goodness, "Couldn’t be the casino boss who introduced them to the loan sharks." That trick is typical of casino bosses.

Feng Liya nodded several tis, "Your uncle knew so bosses who went down the drain, reportedly losing a lot in the process."

If the casino incident hadn’t occurred, no one would have imagined those people were frequent visitors. "One of them even made excuses about a bad business climate to borrow money from your uncle."

It’s a total loss. Zhang Yu initially thought they were quick to react; otherwise, if Qiao Lili had targeted their family, they might not have been able to avoid disaster.

But who would’ve thought they’d still fall into the trap, "Was the loss significant?"

"Fortunately, the other party asked for several millions, but your uncle had just acquired a piece of land, didn’t have that much, so he offered a portion."

"Your uncle felt lucky; that person had also borrowed significant money, claiming it was for a major project and lacked funds."

"Who would’ve thought such a boss, who struggled to succeed initially, could squander so fast?" Feng Liya had seen the other party and heard about their rise, all claid through arduous effort.

"The reason I’m sharing all this today is to remind you. Your dad and I have co this far the hard way, standing by the stove in hot sumrs, receiving vegetables, while I managed the front desk, washed and prepared food to make ends et."

"Understanding that making money is difficult, your dad and I could never splurge this way." Feng Liya wanted to comfort Zhang Yu and say she was earning well, but rembered how hard she worked on her writing.

"Everyone says you have a fast inco; after working on the computer for so ti each day, you have a significant monthly revenue."

"But you’re genuinely working hard, sitting in front of the computer for hours, sotis all day."

"Earning money isn’t easy, so every expenditure should be pondered upon, especially gambling. Few gamblers have good endings, and I’ve never seen one get rich — most suffer family turmoil."

"Only casino owners truly profit." Feng Liya lectured Zhang Yu thoroughly, who listened silently.

Concerning gambling, she never had much interest, occasionally accompanying elders for mahjong, but never went wild.

Feng Liya sipped her tea, "By the way, recently I was in the residential area for formalities."

Formalities? Zhang Yu was puzzled, "What formalities, demolition?"

Since the factory moved, rumors persisted about the residential area being slated for demolition, but remained largely unconfird.

"Yes, the demolition notice ca through; your dad and I checked the offer and found it reasonable, so no point in delaying." No good cos from dragging it out; better negotiate slightly and take the money.

"Right when I heard Zhou Kai plans to marry Zhao Xuan, they decided to postpone the banquet and register first."

"I hadn’t seen Zhao Xuan, but soone ntioned her going around with a large belly, seemingly about to give birth soon. Zhou Kai owns no property, and once the child is born, with three generations and five individuals, they’ll surely rit more house allocation." Although current demolition policies are based on house area.

Yet individuals with a single house, and moderate finances, must receive attention.

Oh, Zhang Yu was shocked; after Zhao Xuan had decorated Zhou Kai with such a prominent betrayal, they’d still end up together. "Did they actually get married?"

After Qiao Lili was imprisoned, Zhao Xuan erged and disappeared sowhere, rumored to have run off with her husband’s money.

"Yeah, don’t be fooled by her finding a so-called wealthy man; he actually gave her little valuable stuff."

"Her bags were fake, and she had only a bank card with a limited credit line."

"She knew he hid money and wanted to grab it, but his children, smart as they were, took it first."

"She should be grateful they fled abroad directly; had they stayed here, they certainly wouldn’t spare her."

"So she worked all for nothing?" Zhang Yu was astonished. Zhao Xuan kicked up such a fuss trying to claim so of the wealthy man’s assets.

"She worked more than just fruitlessly. Recall when her parents divorced, wasn’t that house transferred to her?"

Zhang Yu nodded again, "Indeed. I heard Qiao Lili only had usage rights."

Feng Liya’s reminder brought back forgotten details for Zhang Yu, "Wouldn’t this be resolved in the demolition?"

"No," Zhang Yu almost ntioned Zhao Xuan profiting from the demolition but quickly rembered Feng Liya ntioning Zhou Kai’s couple having no external property. "What happened to that house then?"

She knew Zhao Xu wasn’t doing poorly in City S and had bought several hos, with kids performing well academically, certainly wouldn’t return to claim this house.
