Zhang Yu ran all the way to the old feng shui treasure land, and after a look around, she saw many old n had already arrived.
Well, it’s a weekday today, so the young are either at work or off as intellectual youth. Only retired workers have the ti, oh, no wait, there are also middle-aged n fishing, likely they passed their jobs to their children, are currently unemployed, and are hoping to improve the family’s quality of life through fishing.
After taking out a folding stool, fishing gear, and bait, Zhang Yu began her leisurely fishing trip.
She originally thought that after being away for half a year, the Fishing n here probably wouldn’t recognize her. However, unexpectedly, soone warmly greeted her after spotting her.
"You’re back for the Spring Festival?"
The person greeted her kindly, so Zhang Yu naturally returned the greeting and occasionally chatted.
So of the Fishing n who arrived after Zhang Yu had beco an intellectual youth assud she was a newcor, but seeing a few old fishern warmly greeting her, they were very curious. After a brief inquiry, they were surprised to learn she was the family mber of the Zhang Family father and son duo, famous for their fishing skills.
They originally thought Zhang Yu might not be that skilled, but after listening to a bit of the talking, they realized she was even more skilled, and they quickly put away their dismissive thoughts.
The main reason they changed their minds was to see Zhang Yu’s fishing speed, which made them all envious.
The old fishing veterans who knew of Zhang Yu’s achievents thought it was just her normal performance despite their amazent.
"Little girl, not bad, your skills haven’t declined."
"Not too bad. When I was at the farm, every weekend I would go fishing to improve my als," Zhang Yu added, explaining she was an intellectual youth at a farm.
She worried that if soone saw her, an intellectual youth, going fishing every day, with quite the catch, what if they reported her to the GWH?
Though that could be explained, why not deal with this potential trouble swiftly now?
The group responded with a sound of understanding, "No wonder there was such a commotion over by the dock yesterday."
"By the way, I heard that each intellectual youth at the farm can buy a hundred jin of rice at the grain depot’s price, and they don’t need Food Coupons." An old man casually asked.
Zhang Yu humd an acknowledgnt, "Yes, each person can buy a hundred jin."
Hearing this, so normally quiet people nearby all turned to look at Zhang Yu, with a gaze of excitent.
Of course, Zhang Yu understood what their looks ant, "It’s last year’s fresh rice; cooking rice oil with it is particularly good. My dad’s stomach isn’t great, so it’s perfect for making rice oil."
A hundred jin of rice without needing Food Coupons was already eye-catching, and now hearing it’s fresh rice, they couldn’t help but exclaim.
An elderly man thought for a long ti, "Can we trade for so?"
Zhang Yu shook her head, "How could we trade? Our relatives give so, and it’s the best gift for our grandparents."
"And then keep so at ho." Everything was arranged clearly and transparently.
Hearing Zhang Yu’s arrangent, what could everyone say? They couldn’t possibly say her elders didn’t deserve to be honored, right?
Among so many elders present, anyone daring to suggest such a thing would definitely get scolded.
At noon, Zhang Yu took a stead corn bun and started eating it, and seeing her only eating a corn bun, everyone else felt much better.
By around two o’clock, Zhang Yu packed up and left; today’s catch was decent, with seven or eight fish, and they were on the larger side as well.
Going ho to stew fish soup today, great, happy, Zhang Yu thought. Maybe she should stew it in a big iron pot, and make so flatbread on the side, that combination would be wonderful.
Decided. Zhang Yu carried her fishing gear and prepared to head ho.
On seeing Zhang Yu packing up, a few people got anxious; they had thought she would at least fish a while longer, but who would have thought she’d leave so abruptly.
They called out to Zhang Yu, who looked back at them in surprise, not understanding their intentions.
"Can we trade fish?"
Zhang Yu was taken aback, "Trade fish?" She rembered that these few people hadn’t co up empty-handed, though their catch wasn’t much, they weren’t skunked either.
They nodded, "Yes, trade fish."
Zhang Yu thought for a mont, "What will you trade for them?"
The household had plenty of salted fish, so if there was sothing suitable, she’d trade; after all, on weekends, Zhang Wei and Zhang Jie would join in fishing too.
The group raised their tickets, and Zhang Yu traded for Cloth Coupons, Sugar Coupons, and Oil Coupons. After the exchange, there was only a two-jin fish left in her bucket.
Seeing these results, she wondered if cooking iron pot fish stew tonight would be a bit insufficient; people were lacking rich foods, and two jin of fish plus so vegetables didn’t really seem enough.
Thinking of this, Zhang Yu reopened her equipnt and continued to fish, catching a nearly three-jin fish before packing up and leaving for real.
She arrived ho at around three, still early compared to the end of work, but the old folks were already gathering downstairs for a chat while they busied themselves.
Upon spotting Zhang Yu, they all turned toward her, "Little Yu, how was the fishing today?"
"Two fish," Zhang Yu generously showed them to the neighbors.
Hiding things isn’t good; they’d only start all sorts of rumors privately. It’s better to be open like this.
Seeing Zhang Yu had caught two fish, the people initially thought to themselves this girl hadn’t fished in a while and must’ve lost her touch.
But when they looked closer, everyone shouted in surprise, "These fish are huge!"
Though there were fewer fish, the size made up for it. These two large fish were more impressive than a dozen small ones.
"So big," any suspected sarcasm was swallowed down.
Soone was about to ask if they could trade a fish when they heard her say, "Tonight, I’ll make iron pot fish stew and so corn cakes on the side; it’s going to be great."
As Zhang Yu spoke about how she’d prepare the fish, everyone was taken aback, "She’ll use both fish?"
Zhang Yu nodded, "Yeah, just one dish, then add so tofu, cabbage, whatever, the taste will be aweso."
"In winter, you need a good warm al." Zhang Yu said as she headed upstairs.
Watching her go, the group muttered, "Look how proud she is, just because she caught one fish."
"Yeah, using five jin of fish for one al, what a waste,"
"Absolutely."
Several chid in, but really, they were thinking about why they weren’t the ones with such a good catch. They too wished they could have a al with over five jin of fish.
The crowd’s envy was evident, yet there was nothing they could do to change Zhang Yu’s situation.
She was just a young girl, yet she was so slippery that they never managed to trade anything with her.
As everyone lanted why they didn’t have a skilled fisher in their family, an old lady abruptly said, "She’s making iron pot fish stew; that taste..."
