After getting off the train, Yao Ying took Zhang Yu on a bus headed to the suburbs and then onto an ox cart before they finally arrived at the entrance of the research institute.

Looking at the gates of the research institute in front of her, Zhang Yu finally collected herself. She was back in the city and was about to start working at the institute in front of her.

Zhang Yu took a deep breath, thinking that just the day before yesterday, she was still hoeing and doing farm work at the farm. Now she was standing in front of the research institute.

The two stood at the entrance of the research institute, the security guard looked at them a few tis before coming out, "You are?"

It was then that Zhang Yu rembered that this was a research facility, not a place where one could simply stand around.

"We’re here to report in." Yao Ying had anticipated that they might have to report directly to the research institute after getting off the train, so she had brought all the necessary docunts.

The security guard took a look and said, "I’ll go inside and make a call." Although the report letter looked genuine, it still needed to be verified.

Soon, the security guard ca out, "Go straight ahead inside..." he briefly told them where they needed to go.

"Rember not to wander around."

Yao Ying nodded and prepared to go in with Zhang Yu, but the security guard stopped them, pointing at Zhang Yu, "Only she can go in."

Ah? Yao Ying had not expected that only Zhang Yu would be allowed inside, which made her worried.

"Mom, don’t worry, I can handle it." Zhang Yu tidied herself up a bit, took her docunts, and strode inside.

Yao Ying held Zhang Yu back, "Don’t worry, don’t rush, I’ll wait for you at the entrance."

Zhang Yu nodded, strode forward, and quickly found the personnel departnt, where her docunts were briefly reviewed before a young lady from the departnt took her to the finance departnt to report.

The finance departnt had been prepared for the arrival of a newcor. They knew Zhang Yu was an intellectual youth from the farm and expected to see a plain-looking girl, but to their surprise, Zhang Yu’s skin was quite fair, quite different from their usual image of an intellectual youth.

Chief Feng of the finance departnt was a little surprised, "You’ll mainly be responsible for reimbursents and distributing salaries at pay ti."

Chief Feng briefly explained Zhang Yu’s job assignnts, which did not seem to pressure her at all, "Okay."

"Did you just co from the farm today?" Chief Feng recalled the transfer notice issued a couple of days ago.

Zhang Yu nodded, "The train arrived at noon."

Chief Feng thought for a mont, "Take a rest today, tomorrow is Saturday."

"Co to work on Monday."

Being able to rest for an extra day made Zhang Yu happy, "Thank you, Chief Feng."

Yao Ying knew Zhang Yu wasn’t completely new to this, as she had worked at the farm for over six months. Today was just a formality, so there shouldn’t be any issue.

Even so, Yao Ying couldn’t relax until she saw Zhang Yu in person.

Seeing Zhang Yu’s figure from afar, Yao Ying imdiately stood up.

"The formalities are done, Chief Feng from the finance departnt told to start work on Monday." Zhang Yu knew exactly what Yao Ying wanted to hear.

Starting work on Monday, "That’s great, you can have a rest at ho. When we get back, you should take a bath."

Although the new house wasn’t large, the bathroom was quite big, and the previous owner had installed a bathtub, making bathing much easier.

Zhang Yu nodded and said goodbye to the security guard. The mother and daughter then returned to the dormitory.

Even though they were prepared for a small new house, once inside, seeing the small space was sobering, "It really is small."

"It’s fine, it’s enough for living. Xiao Jie only cos back on weekends." Yao Ying worried about Zhang Yu feeling pressured and kept reassuring her.

"Besides, your dad believes that once he achieves sothing, we’ll definitely get a bigger house."

"Alright, let’s eat sothing, boil so water, and then you can rest." Yao Ying straightforwardly arranged everything.

Zhang Yu followed her instructions, and soon after they had eaten, she took a bath and went to bed to rest. These days, Zhang Yu had been quite tense, worried about what might happen if she let sothing slip.

After completing the paperwork, Zhang Yu headed to the finance departnt. With everything processed there, she left directly without looking for Zhang Wei.

Knowing Zhang Yu should be reporting to the research institute by now, Zhang Wei went to the personnel departnt to inquire, relieved to find out that Zhang Yu had completed all the procedures and had been successfully admitted to the finance departnt.

Given how significant this event was, Zhang Wei figured Zhang Jie must be anxious too. Upon returning to the office, he imdiately made a call to the machinery factory.

At his workplace, Zhang Jie was restless, knowing that if nothing went wrong, Zhang Yu should have returned to the city today, though he wasn’t sure of the outco.

Zhang Jie believed Zhang Yu would be smoothly employed, but without confirmation, he was very worried.

When he finally received a call from Zhang Wei, informing him that Zhang Yu had completed the procedures and reported to the finance departnt, Zhang Jie was overjoyed.

Zhang Jie: Dad, so my sister is now in the research institute’s finance departnt?

Zhang Wei nodded: Yes, all the paperwork has been completed, and I’m relieved.

Although the position was allocated to Zhang Yu, he was concerned about potential hitches, yet now hearing that everything had gone smoothly, he felt at ease.

After a brief conversation with Zhang Wei, Zhang Jie hung up.

Zhang Jie was overjoyed, but others around him were quite envious.

One colleague couldn’t help but ask, "Zhang Jie, is it your sister, your cousin, or which sister is working at the research institute?"

"Of course, it’s my real sister." Zhang Jie knew many of his colleagues were jealous of his family, considering their excellence. He couldn’t imagine how worried they’d be knowing Zhang Yu had a city job.

Once said, everyone in the finance departnt was shocked, as were the colleagues who ca there for business. They were truly stunned by what Zhang Jie said.

They all knew Zhang Yu had already gone to the farm, "How did your sister find a job?"

If they could, they’d like to learn from this, so they wouldn’t have to beco intellectual youths themselves.

"My dad, working at the research institute, happened to hear a colleague from the finance departnt was moving back to her hotown with her husband. My dad thought of my sister, asked her to give it a try, and surprisingly, it worked out." Zhang Jie said, mixing truth with exaggeration.

Everyone knew Gong Chao had gone to work at the research institute, a decision they couldn’t understand.

Now, hearing that Zhang Yu was working in the research institute’s finance departnt, it made a bit more sense why Zhang Wei would change jobs. If it were them, they’d likely do the sa.

While they were envious and jealous, they also knew that it was because Zhang Wei had asked. If they had asked, those people might not have responded.
