Now reading: Chapter 1989 - 1990: Old Mrs. Zhang’s Rebirth in the ’70s—Tr from Transmigration: On the Gossip Front, a Urban novel by Qi Qi's cat.

Wei Xuan looked and saw it was all eaten, her anger surged—what the hell, knowing she was coming over in the evening, yet no one helped cook dinner. It’s outrageous, truly outrageous, how could she have such a mother.

Zhang Yu noticed Wei Xuan’s displeased gaze. See, giving her the food is expected; not giving her turns you into an enemy.

Zhang Yu truly admired the original character. Other people have children—so are ungrateful, so are filial. Yet, the original character raised children, one by one, all with ungrateful traits.

Not a single decent one, alas, forget it, Zhang Yu didn’t care anymore. In the end, even if the nanny treats the old couple well, she would rather give the inheritance to the nanny than to them.

Blood relations or no blood relations, it’s not possible for them to get the majority of the benefits just because of this.

"If there’s none, can’t you make so yourself?" She looked at them pitifully for a long ti, but no one took action. Wei Xuan really couldn’t insist any longer and spoke up.

Ha-ha-ha, Wei Dazhi hurriedly spoke before Zhang Yu could, "You said if there’s none, you can make so yourself. If you go back and there’s nothing to eat, no problem, you can cook—it’s not like you don’t know how to cook."

Saying there’s no food at ho and wanting to make sothing herself—Wei Xuan couldn’t imagine it. She could already guess her in-laws’ reaction; surely they’d look at her with that "how could you be so thoughtless" attitude and expression.

"Making it myself when I go back is a bit troubleso." She couldn’t say bad things about her in-laws; Wei Xuan kept that in mind.

Going back is troubleso? Zhang Yu really found this response amusing, "Is it troubleso here?" Wei Dazhi continued, "Besides, your share isn’t here."

"Your mom is in poor health, saving her rations and not eating well. Your mom does all the work at ho."

"Even things from your side have to be brought over, don’t think about whether your mom’s health can withstand it."

"None of you think about your mom. Anyway, from now on, whoever eats at my place, rember to bring your own food." Wei Dazhi huffed, "Everyone’s spoiling you."

"Wei Xuan, aren’t you going back yet? Hurry up now, if you’re quick, maybe there’ll be leftovers."

After speaking, he started washing the dishes, not caring about Wei Xuan’s expression.

Wei Xuan was stunned; she never imagined Wei Dazhi would be so fierce. Well, today truly wasn’t a good day, even after the separation, she didn’t gain any advantage.

Not only did they refuse to do laundry, they even suggested she should co ho less often. Most importantly, Zhang Yu said they wouldn’t support her family anymore.

This was crucial; without Zhang Yu’s support, she simply didn’t have enough money. Certain things needed her to buy, she had to provide for the children, all needing money.

When she asked her in-laws for money, they would cry and complain about being a burden—all sorts of things—and when she heard them, Wei Xuan felt helpless, as her husband wouldn’t provide support.

Previously, her parents would offer so help for family harmony, she never fussed about it, but now, she had to; otherwise, she’d suffer.

Wei Xuan, carrying lots of clothes, and with her stomach rumbling, stumbled back ho with no surprise to find not a morsel on the dining table, "Mom, please open the cupboard, I haven’t eaten."

Wei Xuan helplessly walked to her in-laws’ room and voiced she hadn’t eaten and wanted to make sothing.

Upon hearing, Mrs. Gao’s tears imdiately fell, "Juanzi, there’s no food left at ho, you know how burdenso things are."

Gao Zhen, hearing Mrs. Gao’s cries from the other room, rushed over and loudly questioned Wei Xuan, "Wei Xuan, what’s wrong with you?"

"I haven’t eaten, and my salary and food are at ho. How co I co back late and there’s no dinner?"

Upon hearing that his wife hadn’t eaten, Gao Zhen turned to look at Mrs. Gao.

"Son, it’s not that I don’t want to give you, but it’s the situation at ho..." Seeing things weren’t good, Mrs. Gao imdiately cried about how tight finances were.

Gao Zhen knew how expensive Mrs. Gao’s dication was and could only helplessly turn to Wei Xuan in the end, "Wife, what do you think?"

"No food, right? Then tonight you take care of the elderly." Wei Xuan knew she had no way out. As a selfish person, knowing her family couldn’t help anymore, she certainly wouldn’t put herself in a position of having no money.

"I work during the day and take care of your mom at night, and there’s no food—how about treating like a pushover?"

"Oh right, in a couple of days when the salary cos in, you hand over yours, mine won’t be handed over." Wei Xuan angrily headed back to the room.

What? Mrs. Gao, originally angry at Wei Xuan’s refusal to take care of her at night, just wanted to cry to her son, but after hearing Wei Xuan’s remark, she was terribly frightened.

Don’t mind her talk about everyone’s salary being handed over and equally arranged; only Gao Zhen’s family handed theirs over entirely—the other sons handed over then quickly took back most of it.

The whole family’s expenses wouldn’t be supported solely by Gao Zhen’s salary, "Ah, I’m really so unfortunate. What should we do now? I might as well die."

Mrs. Gao knew how to handle Gao Zhen; she wouldn’t head-to-head with Wei Xuan. To deal with Wei Xuan, having Gao Zhen was enough.

Upon hearing Mrs. Gao’s words, Gao Zhen’s anger toward Wei Xuan surged, "Mom, don’t worry, I’ll educate Wei Xuan well."

"Rest assured, we will definitely hand over our salaries." Gao Zhen turned and left his parent’s room.

Mrs. Gao watched her son leave, smugly snorted, "Thinking of not handing over your salary."

Gao Fu beside her nodded vigorously, "How could you not hand over the salary."

Gao Zhen rushed to the room, just wanting to speak when Wei Xuan imdiately blocked him, "My mom said she’s in poor health, needs dication and ginseng, has considerable monthly expenses, she won’t give money."

"Also, my mom said, both of us have jobs. If we can’t raise the children, we should reflect on whether we’re not working hard enough."

"She’s no longer taking care of the Wei Family’s grandchildren, and won’t care for the Gao Family’s grandchildren either."

"My mom said not to go back anymore, there’s no food for there." Wei Xuan recalled Zhang Yu’s attitude saying that, treating her like a beggar.

What? Gao Zhen didn’t expect Wei Xuan’s change of mind was due to this reason; he imdiately panicked, "Our mom, our mom really said this?"

Gao Zhen panicked a bit but quickly cald down, "Isn’t there still what to do, I an he..."

Indeed, the old man’s temper is really good; as long as he agrees, whatever the mother-in-law says doesn’t matter anymore.

"My dad, you know, for my dad, as long as my mom says sothing, that’s correct." Wei Xuan said at this point, the old man has no say.
