Capítulo 1995: Chapter 1996: Old Mrs. Zhang Reborn at 70—Reforming the Ungrateful Children (27)

“Mom, what are you talking about? How could Feng Xia’s job go to her brother.”

“Her previous job was already given to her brother.” At this thought, Wei Jiang’s expression darkened.

Previously, he didn’t know; thinking that his old man had married the orphan Zhang Yu, who also had poor conditions, but at least Feng Xia had her family, which seed much stronger than Zhang Yu’s family.

Ever since Feng Xia joined the family, Wei Jiang realized that while she did have family, not every parent would treat their daughter well.

Take the Feng Family mbers; they genuinely sched against Feng Xia. He refused to believe Feng Xia didn’t notice, yet she still supported them in every way, which truly exhausted him.

He had pointed out everything that needed pointing out, and she always promised well, but once the Feng Family mbers sweet-talk her, it’s back to the sa old ways.

He had considered divorce, but Feng Xia would cry and make a scene, and the current public opinion is unfriendly to divorcees.

With a child in the picture, he couldn’t possibly divorce.

Another reason was that initially, when his parents opposed him marrying Feng Xia, he insisted on crying and fighting to marry her, and eventually Zhang Yu’s family relented.

Wei Jiang was genuinely worried about how his parents and Wei Xuan would mock him behind his back if they ever found out, so he could only endure.

Thankfully, at that ti they didn’t have much money, just so pocket change and secretly saved inco, so even if Feng Xia wanted to support her family, she couldn’t help much.

Wei Jiang was confused, “Mom, why did you say be careful of Feng Xia giving the job to her family? Didn’t she already leave a job with them?”

Zhang Yu glanced at the sneaky Feng Xia and knew she hadn’t spoken up, “Your brother-in-law, Feng Xia’s brother, wasn’t he almost engaged previously? The woman requested that there could be no dowry but there must be a formal job.”

“It’s for your brother-in-law’s brother-in-law.” Although it’s a bit confusing, Zhang Yu believed Wei Jiang would understand the implication.

What? Wei He didn’t expect to see Wei Jiang’s embarrassnt. It was known that Feng Xia’s previous job had been left for her brother. If she were to give the current job to her sister-in-law, or rather her sister-in-law’s sister-in-law, it would be hilarious.

What? Wei Jiang knew Feng Xia’s brother dated a girl and was almost engaged, but canceled the engagent two days before, leaving him utterly confused.

Though it wasn’t a long relationship, reaching the engagent stage should an their feelings were strong.

Wei Jiang found it strange but never pursued the specific reason. To him, the Feng family’s affairs were sothing he didn’t want to know or be involved in, as involvent ant trouble for his wallet.

It hadn’t crossed his mind that this ti the Feng family wasn’t targeting his money but Feng Xia’s job. His heart raced upon realizing that his brother-in-law had broken up, suggesting his wife didn’t consent.

“Good job, you didn’t agree; otherwise…” Wei Jiang sneered a few tis.

Then turned to Zhang Yu, “Mom, why didn’t you ntion such a big matter earlier?”

Really, why the old lady dropped the bomb without any warning.

Well, Zhang Yu shrugged it off, “Your brother-in-law’s marriage, I thought you, as his brother-in-law, should’ve known early.”

“Why didn’t your wife tell you?” Zhang Yu chuckled, “Well, at that ti the family hadn’t split.”

“Your wife worried I’d kick her out if I got angry.” In fact, Zhang Yu was curious why Feng Xia didn’t agree to give up the job back then since her brother hadn’t broken up yet.

Really? Wei Jiang thought about it, realizing that if Feng Xia had given her job to her family, Zhang Yu would’ve surely kicked them out.

“Feng Xia, you did well this ti, keep it up; one job in our family isn’t enough.” Although he wished his wife wouldn’t work and stay ho for chores, so his ti after work could be like before.

But relying on his salary alone wasn’t enough to cover expenses. Even if Feng Xia had to part with her job, it would be sold, not given to Feng’s house.

Feng Xia nodded continuously, promising repeatedly, “I certainly won’t give the job to my brother.”

“That’s good, otherwise get out.” Even with Feng Xia’s promise, Wei Jiang still wanted to scare her. Think about how they’d treat you after you return ho.

“I won’t, I definitely won’t.” Feng Xia looked at the neighbors pointing fingers, feeling frustrated and unhappy as she glanced at Zhang Yu’s back.

It’s past history, why can’t the damned wife let this matter pass? Instead, she keeps bringing it up again and again, it’s truly excessive.

Thinking of when it falls into her hands in the future, Feng Xia felt even more helpless, as Zhang Yu long abandoned the notion of them taking care of the elderly.

Is it because she prepared not to burden herself with caring for the old, so she speaks without worry now?

The elderly parents once held high hopes for Wei Chi, their eldest grandson, treating him well enough to make brothers Wei Jiang and Wei He jealous.

Such bad luck, Feng Xia grew anxious as Zhang Yu cared increasingly less about their opinion, having no expectations from them.

If they don’t even have a room, where will they live? Waiting to be allocated housing by the unit?

There are so many waiting for housing, when will it be their turn is an issue, not knowing how big the house will be, sigh, it’s worriso.

Clearly, there should’ve been a share of this house for them, why is Zhang Yu different from others? Others contribute various things for their descendants worried they leave too little for them.

Zhang Yu’s approach is different; she has never thought of leaving anything for her descendants. Feng Xia didn’t want to hear Wei Jiang’s nagging; it was already dinner ti, yet they hadn’t eaten, their stomachs already protesting loudly.

Wei Jiang saw Feng Xia turning to leave, his anger surged, grabbing her, “What’s wrong with you, what, can’t I even talk to you now?”

“Well, look at the ti, aren’t you hungry? I’m hungry, and the child is hungry too.”

“Why would I dare give my job to my family,” Feng Xia retorted irritably, “If that ever happens, no need for you to kick out, your mom would kick us out.”

“Your mom already said that in the future she’d rely on the street for elderly care, donating the house and everything else to the street.” Feng Xia shed tears furiously.

What? The neighbors who were witnessing Wei Jiang’s couple’s commotion were startled by Feng Xia’s bombshell.

“What’s the situation?” Widow Luo, who was already sent packing ho by Zhang Yu, imdiately returned to watch the drama.

No one expected such a shocking piece of news, completely stunning her, “First to kick out Wei He’s couple.”

“Now the house is to be donated, what’s going on?” Widow Luo had never encountered such a case, “It’s not like they don’t have sons.”

Even Auntie Wang and Granny Jiang, who were close to Zhang Yu, were dumbfounded. Their relationship was good, yet they hadn’t heard a word about it before.
