While she was trying to figure out how to make Lin Yu bow his head first without losing face.
Her brain simply couldn’t co up with any solution, so in frustration she picked up her phone, wanting to call so friends to hit a bar and blow off steam.
She had just picked up her phone, ready to text a friend, when she saw a ssage sent to one of her burner accounts.
At first she wanted to ignore it, couldn’t be bothered, but since she was in a bad mood today, she suddenly wanted to see who would ssage her.
She opened the burner account and saw that it was actually a ssage from Zhang Yu. She froze for a second, not understanding why Zhang Yu was ssaging her, and why it was sent to this small account.
She’d used several burners to add Zhang Yu before, and had no idea how many ssages she’d sent her, yet never got a single reply. And now Zhang Yu was ssaging her—how could Han Xue not find that strange.
She tapped it open to see what exactly had been sent. It turned out to be just a short paragraph, saying that Lin Yu had actually t up with the elder cousin. What the hell?
Han Xue’s eyes instantly widened as she stared at Zhang Yu’s ssage, unable to react for a long ti. "How? How is that possible?"
She really didn’t get it. Back then, in order to bring down her uncle’s branch, she’d stirred up God knows how many things. You could say that when it ca to her uncle’s side, even maintaining the last bit of dignity had beco a huge joke.
Han Xue knew that given how petty her uncle’s side was, the fact that they hadn’t co out to retaliate already ant her uncle was being rciful. So how could her elder cousin be eting with Lin Yu?
And this had already happened a few days ago, yet she hadn’t heard a word about it, not even Lin Yu had reported anything.
Staring at her phone for a long ti, what she was thinking now was, "Is this really true, or is Zhang Yu just saring him?"
The relationship between the three of them made Han Xue not dare to fully believe Zhang Yu. She knew the other woman bore a grudge against her, and only because of various scruples hadn’t been able to get revenge.
Now, knowing that she and Lin Yu were having problems, of course she’d co in with a little wedge, trying to push their marriage straight onto a dead-end road.
Right, ignore it. Absolutely can’t let Zhang Yu get her way. Han Xue slamd the phone down in a huff, refusing to think about the ssage Zhang Yu had sent.
She picked up her other phone, planning to call that bunch of useless party friends out to go wild and really relax, but after calling around one circle, not a single person ca out. Either they said they were out of town, or that they had sothing on today—anyway, the bottom line was they had no ti.
No one would co out, and Han Xue was thoroughly displeased. She really wanted to curse people out, but in the end she could only let out a helpless sigh.
Since she couldn’t go out, all she could do was hold her phone and see who she could find to vent to. She didn’t find anyone, but instead noticed that in one group chat soone was talking about how she’d just called around asking people out for drinks.
Looking at the ssages they sent, Han Xue was so mad she could spit blood. Those lackeys who’d just claid they were out of town or busy and couldn’t et up were actually all in Capital City, and they’d split into three groups to party right there—so were eating out, so were at karaoke—and they’d even made a plan to drink together.
Reading their chat, Han Xue had the urge several tis to jump in and curse them out. Obviously each and every one of them was in Capital City, so why were they treating her like this?
Right at that mont, she saw soone say: Oh, we forgot Princess Han is in this group.
As soon as that ca out, soone chid in below: Princess Han? She’s about to fall from grace. That so-called head of the Han family is about to be kicked out in no ti.
Friend C: Exactly. Even that country bumpkin Lin Yu can’t be bothered with her anymore. You can tell she’s just an annoying presence now.
They all started chiming in below, talking about how arrogant and overbearing Han Xue normally was. In short, everyone was talking about how awful she was.
Han Xue knew she had a bad temper, but that was just who she was. Back then, how co none of them said her temper was a problem?
She stared unhappily as they continued spamming the chat, her expression shifting from anger to indifference. She watched their ssages coldly, didn’t say a single word, and then calmly exited the group.
She knew they were doing it on purpose, just betting she’d see it.
Now that she’d seen what they had to say, the ssage had been delivered. She could leave the group.
Those so-called friends who used to circle around her for their own benefit and went out of their way to please her, now that she’d fallen this far, every single one of them was kicking her while she was down.
As for Lin Yu, him selling her out wasn’t exactly shocking either. After all, she’d often made him lose face in front of others. If she were still that sa Han Xue and the Han family was the sa as before, Lin Yu would never dare have second thoughts.
Given the current situation, his behavior was not surprising, really not surprising at all.
She wiped away a tear. "How did it end up like this?" Han Xue had known her uncle’s side would fight back. Back then, when she chose Lin Yu, she’d only thought of proving sothing in front of her grandfather.
She’d never actually wanted to hold real power. She just hoped the old man would loosen his grip a little and give her a bit more, so she could live a good life.
How did it end up like this in the end? Han Xue truly didn’t understand how everything had spun out of control.
So many people had profited, and yet she was the one left to carry everything on her back.
Han Xue picked up her other phone and opened Zhang Yu’s ssage. After thinking for a mont, she typed: How do you even know about this? Aren’t you in Harbor City?
Han Xue knew Zhang Yu didn’t have that kind of network. She’d done her howork on this forr love rival, and knew Zhang Yu’s best friend was overseas, doing quite well—no threat at all.
As for City S, she was either at work or working overti, or looking after the kid. You could say she didn’t know that many people. Otherwise, with her and Lin Yu being practically semi-public, how could she still be in the dark?
If Han Xue hadn’t ssaged her, Zhang Yu might not even have known about it. That alone showed how poor her connections were.
She really was curious how Zhang Yu found out. Really curious.
After thinking a bit, Han Xue picked up her phone and checked, and unsurprisingly saw that Xie Zhen had gone to Harbor City on a business trip two days ago.
Seeing his recent posts, Han Xue understood. She picked up her phone: Xie Zhen told you.
Zhang Yu and Xie Zhen had just been talking about the Harbor City, Japan and Korea, and Europe and Arica stock markets. As for Mainland stocks, the two of them very tacitly didn’t touch the topic.
After they finished talking, Zhang Qiang called Zhang Yu to ask when she was coming ho. When she hung up, she noticed a new ssage. She opened it and saw it was from Han Xue, which made her pause for a mont.
Seeing that her expression wasn’t great, Xie Zhen asked, "Who ssaged you? Oh right, were your parents asking what ti you’d be ho?"
Zhang Yu answered with a hum, "Yeah. It’s already past ten, of course they’ll ask, otherwise they’ll worry."
Alright then. Thinking of where Zhang Yu’s family was originally from, Xie Zhen relaxed. A kid from a city with no nightlife is supposed to be ho at this hour.
"Han Xue ssaged . She just wrote one line: Xie Zhen told you." Zhang Yu hugged her phone, grinning. "Whoever said Han Xue is an airhead really doesn’t know her. Didn’t you see how she went straight to naming you?"
Zhang Yu genuinely felt that Xie Zhen’s plan of hiding in the background was completely ruined. The other side guessed it was him in an instant.
