With everything at ho settled, and the volunteer options submitted, Zhao Wenjin set off on a trip out of town with Liao Jiayu.
This ti they took a plane directly to The South and played their way back.
Hearing that she could visit so many places, Liao Jiayu was truly excited.
But rembering that many of her classmates had already begun studying high school courses, the young girl always felt a sense of unease.
While packing her luggage, she brought a few books, thinking she could take the opportunity to read during her free ti.
Zhao Wenjin of course noticed, although she doubted the child would have the energy to read books after roaming the streets all day and returning tired to the hotel.

All colleagues for so many years, everybody knows what everyone else is thinking one way or another, “and there’s rent money coming in, too.”
Especially when it cos to painting at ho, the money made is way more than what you make at a day job; even a fool knows which to choose.
So had even thought about asking Liao Kai what he thought about his wife volunteering for layoff, but when they heard about the rental inco, they choked up.
Right, how could they forget that his wife didn’t rely on a salary to live day to day?
Their life was quite carefree.
“By the way, you ntioned your wife is going on a trip—where is she traveling to?” a colleague, feeling a little bitter inside, asked the question hoping to shift his mood.
“Soon my son will be taking his college entrance exams.
He’s been working hard for so long; I thought, after the exams, I’d take the kid out for a stroll to motivate him to get good results,” said a parent of a soon-to-be exam taker, thinking that this could incentivize their child to perform well.
Where to travel, though?
Liao Kai really had no particular recomndations, “The two of them, her and our daughter, are flying directly to The South and then making their way back north as they play.”
He listed the places they might visit along the way, “Of course, if they find so place fun, they’ll stop and take a look.”
The main idea is to have no set plan, just to have fun, “They will return at the end of July.”
As for why they wouldn’t continue playing into August, it was because Zhao Wenjin had arranged a tutor for Liao Jiayu, who wasn’t available until then.

And for over a month to boot?
For the colleagues present, this stung a bit.
“Your wife didn’t volunteer for layoff just so she could go traveling, did she?” a colleague speculated, thinking this was quite a plausible scenario.
Soone really guessed it.
Liao Kai humd in confirmation, utterly shocking the colleagues around him.
“She volunteered for layoff just to go traveling?” they exclaid in shock.
“Liao Kai, even though your wife has the rental inco, she still shouldn’t quit working.”
“Exactly, it might be fine now, but what about when it’s ti to retire?”
They all looked anxious, and Liao Kai found it quite amusing.
“You all know that my salary doesn’t an much in my household,” Liao Kai didn’t bother explaining more; his wife’s decisions were not his to make.
Liao Kai’s original point was to tell everyone that he had no say at ho.
To his colleagues, however, it seed like he was the pitiable man in need of their advice.
They each began doling out advice to Liao Kai on how to assert himself in front of his wife and establish himself as the head of the family.
Listening to their suggestions, Liao Kai was so amused he could barely stop himself from laughing out loud.
Finally, taking advantage of his colleagues’ thirst and their break for a drink, he said, “All the household expenses, including the kids’ tuition and everything else, are paid by my wife.”
“My salary is mine to spend.”
“For any expenses at ho, I never have to pay.”
“You tell , how am I supposed to run the house?” Liao Kai expressed his helplessness; their advice was good, but it just wasn’t applicable to his situation.
Just when the colleagues wanted to continue instructing him, they lost their montum.
Especially the male colleagues, each of them looked at Liao Kai with eyes full of envy and resentnt; if possible, they too would wish for such an arrangent.
Unfortunately, their wives didn’t have the sa capabilities as Liao Kai’s wife and would never take on all the household expenses independently.
