717: Chapter 718 Freeloading Man 3_1 717: Chapter 718 Freeloading Man 3_1 Chiang Yi strolled leisurely to the canteen with his friends, convinced that Song Lei couldn’t possibly not buy lunch for him.

All the way there, he pondered whether to give her an out or to continue refusing to eat anything from her.

Anyway, he hadn’t co up with an answer by the ti he reached the canteen.

In the end, he decided to gauge Song Lei’s attitude before deciding—after all, food is innocent and should not be wasted.

Upon entering the canteen, he instinctively looked towards their usual spot and was surprised to see that not a single person was sitting there.

This situation was beyond Chiang Yi’s comprehension!

Wasn’t soone supposed to rush out as soon as class ended?

Weren’t they supposed to co to the canteen?

But if they did co to the canteen, how could no one be seen?

Just as Chiang Yi was wondering what tricks Song Lei could be pulling this ti, a friend pointed in a direction, “Isn’t that Song Lei?”

Chiang Yi and his companions followed the indicated direction, “Indeed, it’s her.”

While Chiang Yi was undecided whether to walk over or get lunch, he saw Song Lei already picking up her tray and leaving her spot.

“Looks like she saw Chiang Bro and is coming to et you,” the group assud Song Lei’s intention was rely to give Chiang Yi a fright.

And sure enough, as soon as she saw him, she quickened her pace and headed over.

Although Chiang Yi remained silent and showed no change in expression, he took delight in it, feeling no one could escape his charm.

Song Lei had no idea that just as she finished her al, Chiang Yi happened to arrive.

Planning to walk a lap around the sports field after a quick lunch, Song Lei then intended to head back to the classroom for a brief rest.

That’s how the two parties coincidentally t at the entrance of the canteen.

Song Lei glanced at Chiang Yi and just like that, walked right past him.

A man who eats off a woman and refuses to admit it, isn’t worth the distraction.

Earlier, when the two of them arrived at the school gate, the entire canteen went silent, all eyes on them, speculating on what would follow.

Everyone expected Song Lei to fawn over Chiang Yi, but she rcilessly simply ignored him and walked past as if he wasn’t there.

Song Lei left the sports field without a stir, leaving everyone else in shock.

“I originally didn’t believe that Song Lei would ignore Chiang Yi, but now I do,” a male student expressed what everyone was thinking.

“Right, how long do you think she’ll keep not talking to Chiang Yi?” soone curiously asked, voicing one of the most pressing questions on everyone’s minds.

“I’ll bet on one day.

They’ll definitely talk tomorrow.”

“You have to give the girl so face.” Though ant to be considerate to Song Lei, the words were still harsh, “I’ll bet on two days then.”

“I bet a week,” another chid in.

With a hot topic at hand, so started a betting pool, “Place your bets, how long until Song Lei talks to Chiang Yi again?”

Suddenly, many started placing their bets.

Although there was no real money involved, everyone was eager to see if their predictions matched those of others.

Chiang Yi was fuming.

Of course, he knew about soone in the school who called themselves Bai Xiaosheng, who always started betting pools whenever sothing big happened.

When he heard it, he just laughed.

He had never taken part and thought it was very childish.

Little did he expect that in his lifeti, he would beco the subject of a betting pool.

He owed his gratitude to Song Lei for being the talk of the betting pool, and the more Chiang Yi thought about it, the angrier he beca, his lips tightening.

Those familiar with him knew when Chiang Yi got angry, the consequences were serious.

Just as everyone was about to speak, Chiang Yi turned around abruptly, “I’m not eating.”

Why continue to stay here and eat, letting people think he’s just a monkey on display for them to gawk at?

Everyone had not expected that Chiang Yi would be so angry that he would skip his al, truly leaving them stunned.

What to do?

Should they follow Chiang Yi, or?

Soone continued walking toward the cafeteria, “I still have classes in the afternoon; I can’t go without lunch.”

“Right, and it’s physics in the afternoon.” That was the class of the fearso Physics Demon.

“Yeah, my physics grades are just average, if I don’t eat lunch, I won’t be able to concentrate during the class.”

“Exactly, I must eat.”

As for Chiang Yi, it didn’t really matter if he didn’t eat, “Maybe if Song Lei knew he hadn’t had lunch, she would soften her heart and buy him so snacks.”

“Exactly, with Song Lei around, how could she let Brother Yi go hungry?”

While making fun of Song Lei, everybody went to the cafeteria to buy their lunch.

Chiang Yi had spoken quite decisively, not wanting to beco a laughingstock, but soon after leaving the cafeteria, his stomach started to protest, the pain making him extrely uncomfortable.

He hadn’t eaten breakfast that day, and if he skipped lunch too, he really didn’t know if he could keep going.

Chiang Yi wished soone would grab him at that mont and tell him eating was important, to not make his stomach suffer over a girl.

Unfortunately, he had already been standing in the sa spot for a while, but no one ca after him.

He turned to look back at the cafeteria door and saw so people standing there.

No need to ask—he knew those people had already left for the cafeteria, which really pissed Chiang Yi off.

He had ntioned it earlier in the morning, how Song Lei was to bla for his tardiness; he hadn’t had breakfast and had been hungry all morning.

Yet when he said he wouldn’t eat lunch, not a single person stopped him, driving Chiang Yi so mad he felt like spitting blood.

He truly didn’t understand why everything was suddenly so unlucky today; Song Lei had changed her attitude, and his friends were acting like this too.

But by going back to the cafeteria now, wouldn’t he just beco a bigger joke, especially after declaring he wouldn’t eat there?

Forget it, better to just go to the convenience store and buy sothing to eat.

After coming to his senses, Chiang Yi turned around and headed to the convenience store.

In the past, he never cared about the price, since Song Lei knew what he liked and would always have it ready for him.

He never worried about how much money Song Lei spent pursuing him—what was a little expense in the pursuit of affection?

At the store, he grabbed a big bag of items out of habit, including two cup noodles and so chicken wings and legs.

But when it ca ti to pay, Chiang Yi was shocked by the amount—it hadn’t occurred to him that such a few items could cost so much.

Having no choice, Chiang Yi paid up, carrying a bag full of stuff off to eat on the side.

After a satisfactory lunch, so classmates would co to the supermarket to buy things—not because they hadn’t had enough at lunch, but to stock up for the afternoon.

The school lunch wouldn’t be until five-thirty, so definitely a snack in between was essential.

Seeing Chiang Yi eating alone in a corner of the supermarket was quite a surprise to them; rembering the bet in the cafeteria, well, they could all understand.

In response to everyone’s glances, Chiang Yi was really unhappy, feeling that this humiliation was all brought upon him by Song Lei.

In his heart, he bitterly cursed soone out.

Song Lei, who had taken a walk on the sports field, also ca to the supermarket to buy sothing; she had rushed out that morning and forgotten to bring anything with her.

Upon entering the supermarket, she didn’t notice Chiang Yi at all, buying a pack of biscuits and a coffee drink according to the original owner’s taste.
