Chapter 973: Chapter 974 Countryside Orphan Girl 18

Liu Yuanchao didn’t understand, “Why not rescue Uncle and Jian She?”

“Your younger brother, his cri is the most serious. He was the one doing the work, and it was your aunt who pulled the strings.”

“I think your aunt’s in-laws will surely get her out. But convincing Zhang Yu, who knows how much it will cost?”

“If they want to get your aunt out, they’ll have to get your younger brother out too. Otherwise, your aunt has no way to leave.”

Over the past few days, Liu Dashan has been thinking a lot—if the whole family has to get out, how can they spend the least amount of money to rescue everyone?

“As for your uncle, he doesn’t know anything, his cri is the lightest. Even if they lock him up, it won’t be for long.”

“Of course, it’d still be best if we can get him out too.”

“As for Liu Li.” Liu Dashan let out a long sigh. This granddaughter is quite pretty, but why was she allowed to study up to high school?

The idea was that, if possible, she could marry soone like Liu Jia—a person who could bring support to the family.

Liu Dashan had invested a lot in Liu Li, but now it’s all turned to dust, leaving Liu Dashan so upset he wanted to hit soone.

Since the child is already ruined, there’s no need to spend more money. “She’s in this situation now; don’t even think about marrying into a good family.”

“Even a boy from the alley with average conditions probably wouldn’t want to marry her.”

“If things are like this, then let her go be an intellectual youth.” Liu Dashan thought for a long ti and concluded that this was the best approach.

Liu Yuanchao had always known the family’s plans for Liu Li and supported them as well. After all, Liu Li helping her maternal side ant he stood to benefit the most.

But now all the efforts have gone to waste, leaving him in low spirits. He lightly sighed, “Alright, let her spend a few years as an intellectual youth. When she cos back, we’ll find a decent family for her.”

After speaking about the arrangents, Liu Dashan suddenly rembered he hadn’t asked his eldest grandson how things had been these past few days.

“How have you been lately?” Liu Yuanchao gave a bitter smile and replied, of course, not well. “Just alright.”

Liu Dashan could see the helpless expression on his grandson’s face. “It’s been tough on you.”

“Once I get out, I won’t let that girl off.” Liu Dashan said fiercely.

“Grandpa, forget it. Don’t stir up trouble with the Zhang Family anymore. We’ve just sched against them.”

“If you go after Zhang Yu again and they report to the authorities, your sentences could get heavier.” Liu Yuanchao didn’t want to see their family end up in more trouble.

“Grandpa, just forget it. Zhang Yu has a job now, and whatever sches we pull won’t work.”

“If we go to her house to demand money, she’ll call the police imdiately.”

“If we hit Zhang Yu or Li Cui, we’d get nothing but trouble; they’d absolutely report it.”

Liu Dashan thought of Zhang Yu’s way of handling things and sighed helplessly, “Eldest grandson, you’re right.”

“Alright, off you go.” Liu Dashan stopped Liu Yuanchao, who had turned to leave.

“Go ho and tell Feng Lan: if she doesn’t want to discipline her harshly once I’m out, then let her keep making scenes, let her keep it up.”

Though his grandson hadn’t said anything, Liu Dashan knew his younger daughter-in-law’s personality all too well.

“Tell her to et after work tomorrow.”

“Seriously, we’ve been here for so many days, and she, as a daughter-in-law, hasn’t co by once?” Liu Dashan said angrily.

“And Liu Ke and Liu Yang too.” Liu Dashan wasn’t completely indifferent toward those two grandsons either.

Who doesn’t like grandsons? Liu Dashan considered that apart from his eldest grandson, the treatnt of the other three grandsons had been the sa.

But now that trouble has co, it’s clear how those two grandsons are acting. Liu Dashan snorted coldly. From now on, he wouldn’t treat the two of them kindly. Those two were ungrateful brats.

“Alright.” Liu Yuanchao understood that the old man was going to vent his anger on them. Good, it should be this way—otherwise, they’d just keep acting smug.

Liu Yuanchao was leaving the police station when he happened to run into Zhang Yu on her way ho from work. The cousins had an unexpected encounter at the police station entrance.

Zhang Yu glanced at him indifferently, without any intention of greeting him, and ran straight ho.

Since starting work here, Zhang Yu had learned so moves from her retired military colleagues. Whenever she had spare ti, she’d practice boxing.

Every day, she would run to and from work if she wasn’t carrying anything.

Liu Yuanchao watched Zhang Yu running, assuming it was because she didn’t want to see him and was deliberately avoiding him.

With a small pout, he thought for a mont before deciding to run back as well. Arriving late at ho ant who knew how much food would be left.

The past few days, he’d been busy looking for connections and always got ho late. Each ti, Feng Lan and the others had already finished their al, leaving barely anything for him.

Zhang Yu ran all the way ho. At first, she struggled to keep going and had to alternate between running and walking. But now, she could finally run the full distance.

Li Cui saw Zhang Yu co ho drenched in sweat and knew she had run back again. “You ran ho again today?”

Zhang Yu responded briefly, “Yes, I ran ho.”

“I want to train my body well so I can defend myself if soone tries to bully .” Zhang Yu raised her voice.

Feng Lan and her three children had just finished eating and were chatting in the room. They heard Zhang Yu’s words, and Feng Lan grew concerned. “Eldest, do you think your brother can keep Zhang Yu under control if he marries her?”

“Mom, don’t worry. No matter how strong-headed a woman is, she’ll still listen to her husband after marriage.” Liu Ke thought Feng Lan was overthinking things.

“Look at the families in our courtyard and the neighboring ones. Those won who act fierce outside still listen to their n at ho.”

Feng Lan thought about it and agreed, “Yeah, that’s right.”

“Why hasn’t Liu Yuanchao co ho yet today?” Feng Lan noticed he was running late.

Liu Ke rolled his eyes rudely. “Why do you care?”

Zhang Yu quickly freshened up before sitting at the dining table to eat. She started chatting about what had happened at work today. “Grandma, tomorrow our workplace is improving the nu—there’ll be at.”

“I’ll co ho after lunch.” Don’t underestimate Zhang Yu; she had only been working for two days but already knew the workplace had two days each month with better als that included at.

Importantly, this at didn’t require at coupons, so nobody wanted to miss out on the chance for improved als.

“Have a good al at work.” Li Cui told Zhang Yu to make sure she replenished her energy.

“It’s okay. There’s a lunch break, and now the handovers are mostly done. I’m getting the hang of things.” Despite so fumbling here and there, there weren’t any major issues.

“I can supervise whether you’re eating well.” Zhang Yu was concerned about Li Cui eating properly when she was alone at ho.

“I’ll eat well.” Li Cui repeatedly assured her, “I just need to outlive them.”

Li Cui stared at Zhang Yu for a while and noticed her granddaughter’s complexion looked much better. “Do you think if I practiced boxing like you, I’d also have better health?”

Grandma wanted to box? Zhang Yu was startled by Li Cui’s idea. “Grandma, the martial arts I practice aren’t suitable for you.”

After all, retired military personnel use techniques focused on effectiveness, which would be too strenuous for an elderly lady.

“How about practicing Tai Chi instead?” The issue was finding a teacher.

Tai Chi? Li Cui thought about it and agreed, “I know who to go to.”

“Old Wu, from the street, knows it.” Li Cui figured she should go to the street tomorrow. “I’ll take a look and see if there’s anything I can help with too.”

Staying at ho all day was boring; she might as well hang around the street and lend a hand where needed.
