Upon hearing He’s words, Gu Chengyi shot up from the kang.

The two children on the kang were also frightened by the commotion just now and quieted down. They shrank to one side of the kang, keeping silent.
He looked at Gu Chengyi on the kang, eyes closed in rest, feeling a chill. She never knew this man could be so cold-hearted, as if he had turned into a different person, making her feel scared just by looking at him.
While the couple was talking in the west wing, the main room was naturally not quiet either.
"Old man, let’s have a good talk today." All the riffraff had left, and Mrs. Lv was planning to have a proper discussion with Mr. Gu.

"The past is past; there’s no point bringing it up! After being married for more than a decade, why bring up old matters?" Mrs. Lv didn’t want to talk about the past, picking up the fra on the kang and preparing to embroider.
"It’s getting dark, and it’s hard to see in the room. Stop embroidering and get ready for bed!" Seeing that Mrs. Lv was unwilling to discuss further, Mr. Gu assud she still harbored resentnt about the past, so he stopped ntioning it.
