Yao ngxian’s eyes lit up; the opportunity had arrived. Just as the bandit lunged at her, she thrust the scissors in her hand towards the River Bandit.

Gu Chengyu had already reached upstairs and saw the room with the damaged door. His heart sank, hoping he wasn’t too late, and he rushed to the door, peering through the gap to observe the situation inside.

Yao ngxian used all her strength to fiercely stab the scissors into the River Bandit’s chest. However, the scissors were too small; the sharp tip pierced the bandit’s chest but didn’t cause much harm.

Blood gushed out in an instant, and the River Bandit roared in pain, underestimating these won. He quickly turned back to search for his knife, but Lianxin seized the opportunity first.

Lianxin, reacting quickly, ran over and picked up the knife while the bandit was in pain. However, the River Bandit, being a man with not weak martial arts, wasn’t bothered much by this injury.

He turned around and kicked at Lianxin, who could not compete with him. The knife in her hand was just raised, but she was kicked to the ground, unable to hold the short knife, which fell to the floor.

Seeing things go awry, Yao ngxian realized she was being too naive; she prepared to climb up the window and jump into the river.

All of this happened in a very short ti. When Gu Chengyu arrived, he witnessed this scene. He kicked the door with all his force, enlarging the gap, then used Qinggong to enter the room.

The bandit was bending down to pick up the short knife when he heard the loud crash of the door, promptly standing and slashing a knife over. Gu Chengyu blocked with his sword, lifted it, then thrust diagonally, piercing the River Bandit’s chest, stabbing through it with smooth, swift motion.

Yao ngxian was solely focused on jumping into the river, fearing she’d be caught by the River Bandit if she delayed. As she jumped down, she heard Gu Chengyu kick the door down, but by that ti she had already flipped outside the window, upper body suspended.

While killing the River Bandit, Gu Chengyu kept an eye on the window’s movent. After swiftly dealing with the bandit, he aid to grab the person, but she had already jumped down. He had no choice but to leap down after her, fortunately catching hold of her sleeve, while his other hand drove the sword into the boat’s hull.

Yao ngxian thought she would fall into the river, but then felt sothing holding onto her sleeve. She panicked inside, fearing the River Bandit might’ve caught her. No, she couldn’t be caught.

At this mont, a youthful voice from above called out, "Grab my hand quickly, the sleeve is about to tear!"

Upon hearing this, Yao ngxian was alard. Of course, she couldn’t overthink at this mont; it was late at night, and below was the river surface. She couldn’t see Gu Chengyu’s face, nor had she noticed him kill soone. Thinking Gu Chengyu was a River Bandit, she had no intention of grabbing his hand.

Gu Chengyu looked down, seeing the sleeve in his hand had torn a gap. If not grabbed soon, she would indeed fall.

Glancing down at the little girl below, he demanded sternly, "Grab the hand quickly!"

Originally, he could have used Qinggong to bring the person up; however, he feared moving would cause the sleeve to give way due to its short distance from the river surface, insufficient for utilizing Qinggong to lift her during free fall.

Yao ngxian flicked her sleeve, and sure enough, with a "tearing" sound, she rapidly fell downward.

As she slipped from the sleeve, Gu Chengyu followed suit, and at the exact mont her body touched the river surface, he grabbed her and flew back towards the original window.

"Young lady!" Qing Dai was stunned to see the River Bandit slain with a sword, quickly climbing to the window, peering outside. Unfortunately, the river surface was too dark to see clearly.

The maid hurriedly ran to the window, yelling out.

Yao ngxian was captured, fear engulfing her heart; the damn River Bandit didn’t even let her go after jumping into the river.

"You beast, let go."

She struggled fiercely in Gu Chengyu’s arms, and seeing he wouldn’t release her, she bit down hard on Gu Chengyu’s shoulder.

Gu Chengyu was already struggling with her in his arms, and with her biting so fiercely, he winced in pain but didn’t let go.

Looking up, he saw two people standing by the window. What was this? They lined up to jump through the window?

"Move aside!" Gu Chengyu shouted, but without a foothold, even excellent Qinggong couldn’t allow him to twirl outside! Blocking the window, how are they supposed to enter?

Fortunately, Qing Dai and the maid, hearing his words, reflexively moved aside. Gu Chengyu carried the person, lightly tapping his foot, and flew directly into the room through the window.

The room wasn’t too dark, as lanterns and torches illuminated the interior, allowing them to see the situation in the room.

"Young lady?" The maid and Qing Dai exclaid in surprise simultaneously.

"Let go! Are you a dog?" Gu Chengyu released his grip around Yao ngxian’s waist, placing her on the ground, quickly pushing her away.

What kind of luck did he have today? River Bandits hijacking the boat was one thing, but being called a beast by two people in a day—that’s not the worst of it; this girl’s bite was vicious; he felt his shoulder was surely bleeding.

At this mont, Yao ngxian realized sothing wasn’t right. Logically, if the other party was a River Bandit, they would’ve already acted against them; how could she still be standing here unhard?

Finally, rationality returned to her. She stepped back and closely scrutinized the person before her.

The person wore an ice-blue round-neck long robe, a green auspicious cloud belt cinched at the waist. Looking at the face, it was a youth about her age, with sword-like brows and starry eyes, skin like jade, surrounded by a slight red hue, eyes resembling peach blossoms—these were peach blossom eyes.

It was said that won with peach blossom eyes were often full of allure, while n exuded an air of romance.

He was much taller than her, but his face still bore so innocence, suggesting he was not much older than her. However, she didn’t overlook the strong scent of blood on him, with his robe stained greatly. The sword he held glead coldly, indicating it’d been used to kill, though no blood tainted its blade.

She breathed a sigh of relief, this shouldn’t be a River Bandit.

As Yao ngxian scrutinized Gu Chengyu, he also glanced at her. The girl appeared around ten years old, wore an embroidered floral silk overlapping jacket, a pink high-collared inner garnt, paired with a smoke cloud butterfly skirt. However, now her garnts were disheveled, exposing a large area of pink inner garnt, her shoes had long been flung off sowhere.

The description was quite ragged; her hair strands were extrely ssy, the original hairstyle unrecognizable, adorned with a crooked pearl flower, almost falling off.

A pair of round apricot eyes, slightly upturned at the outer corners, giving a unique flair. An oval face, small nose and mouth—a standard beauty face.

Asked why Gu Chengyu observed so attentively, credit goes to his nearly photographic mory. Moreover, the girl differed from the gentle, fragile nature of ancient won, catching his attention. For no other reason, her strikes and bites were fierce indeed; his shoulder still throbbed with pain.

Seeing her clothes in disarray, Gu Chengyu only glanced at her, then quickly averted his gaze to the River Bandit lying on the ground.
