Yi Lanshan watched the back of his second brother, forcibly suppressing the compassion in his heart, and turned back to the main room.
Gu Chengyu was being helped by Lu Chen, staggering left and right, while a servant nearby wanted to lend a hand but was rejected by Lu Chen.

The two helped Gu Chengyu into the house, and Lu Chen glanced around the room. The furnishings were quite ordinary, without even a single precious object.

Even if the Yi Family was declining, the receiving room shouldn’t be this simple, unless it wasn’t a room used for guests.

After helping Gu Chengyu lie down on the bed and covering him with the quilt, Lu Chen looked at the servant still in the room.

The servant waved his hand and began heading back, signaling for Lu Chen to follow.

He needed to seize this chance to check out those heavily guarded areas and scout the layout.
He would return shortly after because otherwise, coming to the Yi Mansion today would be in vain.
The servant leading the way felt relieved only when Lu Chen followed.
He didn’t know why his master gave such an instruction, to send away this follower. But as a servant, it was not his place to question.
Gu Chengyu listened carefully to the sounds outside, and when everyone had left, he got up to examine the room.
He wondered if Ming Mo and the others had any findings, looking at the closed doors and windows, he thought acting during the day was indeed inconvenient.
It would be better to wait until night. Gu Chengyu figured that in his apparent drunken state, it would be best to sleep until night.
After receiving definite information from Ming Mo and the others, he planned to send Lu Chen away and take action personally.
Just when Gu Chengyu was thinking about his next move, sitting on the bed, he suddenly heard footsteps, indicating two people approaching.
He felt so uncertainty, could it be Ming Mo and the others? But these footsteps didn’t sound right; from the sound, they were not martial artists.
Gu Chengyu quickly lay back on the bed, covered himself with the quilt, and closed his eyes.
"Hurry up! If you dawdle, soone might discover us." A sowhat familiar voice reached Gu Chengyu’s ears.
This voice was clearly lowered, and Gu Chengyu recalled, wasn’t this Yi Lanwen, the second master of the Yi Family?
What were these two sneaky guys up to? Were they planning to kill him?
"Creak!" The door was gently opened, and footsteps ca into the room.
"Quickly bring the person in!" Yi Lanwen’s voice sounded again, then another person was heard panting heavily as if carrying sothing heavy.
Gu Chengyu kept his eyes closed, and then heard soone approaching his bed. The person’s breathing was slightly heavy, seemingly standing not too far from his bed without getting too close.
His right hand gripped a dagger he had taken from his space, pondering what these two were doing. Should he reveal himself?
"Mr. Gu?" Yi Lanwen called softly, scrutinizing the expression on Gu Chengyu’s face.
Gu Chengyu relaxed internally; it seed they weren’t here to kill him.
"Master, he’s drunk." A younger voice chid in, likely Yi Lanwen’s follower.
"Rubbish, don’t you think I know he’s drunk? I’m just worried he’ll wake up. Quick, put the person on the bed!"
Yi Lanwen glared at the servant, whispering irritably.
"Yes, master!" Anren began grunting again, carrying the person closer to Gu Chengyu’s bed.
