“He’s dirt poor himself. His monthly allowance is only a few hundred. He has to work part-ti on weekends and even sets up a street stall at night when he has ti. What’s he trying to show off for?”

“Over two thousand yuan! And he just lent it out like that!”

“Even if Wang Jie can pay it back, that’ll be at least a month from now. What if sothing happens in between and he needs money?”

In the girls’ dormitory, Ning Chu muttered her complaints in a low voice about Wen Yang lending the money. Her hand lay flat on the small desk while Lily, sitting opposite her, carefully trimd her nails.

Yan Xinya sat nearby with her chin propped in her hands, smiling as she asked, “You feel bad for the money he worked so hard to earn?”

“Feel bad my ass! It’s his money. He can spend it however he wants.”

“Then why are you complaining so much?”

“I’m worried that if he runs out of money, he’ll drag down with him!”

The wolf girl let out a soft sigh. “Your mouth is really stubborn~ Is it this stubborn when Wen Yang kisses you too?”

A faint blush crept across Ning Chu’s cheeks. She lightly kicked Yan Xinya’s calf in dissatisfaction. “I’m already mad and you’re still teasing .”

“Then just take all his money so he can’t spend it recklessly. Like before.”

Without hesitation, she shook her head. “Why would I take his money? Before, I was just afraid he didn’t have enough to spend. Mixing our money together made it easier to manage him.”

“But now you’re mad when he spends it.”

“How was I supposed to know he’d be that generous… when he’s so poor himself.”

Ning Chu let out a lifeless sigh.

It wasn’t that she had no interest in Wen Yang’s money. Back when she was still a man, she wouldn’t have wanted a girlfriend or wife who controlled all the household finances either. Earning your own money but not even having the right to spend it? That would be miserable. Better not to have a girlfriend at all.

Now that she had beco a girl, she didn’t want to turn into the kind of woman she used to dislike.

“Alright.” Lily looked up and released Ning Chu’s soft, pale hand.

“It’s better than what nail salons do~”

Yan Xinya proudly put her hands on her hips. “Of course! Lily is the best!”

“I wasn’t praising you. Why are you so proud…” Ning Chu muttered at the wolf girl, her gaze drifting toward the water cup on Lily’s desk.

There was no clutter in the cup today. The octopus still looked listless and seed to have shrunk a bit, though the water’s color looked strange.

Noticing her gaze, Lily explained, “I soaked it in yellow wine.”

Ning Chu’s mouth twitched. “Why not just put it out of its misery?”

By now she was convinced Lily was truly using the octopus for research and not raising it as so kind of toy. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be tornting the tentacled creature like this.

“No.” Lily shook her head. After hesitating for a mont, she leaned closer to Ning Chu’s ear and whispered, “The magic will disappear.”

“Oh~”

So Lily was reluctant to lose that revealing battle outfit and her magical abilities. The magical girl’s powers ca from the tentacled creature, if it died, Lily would never be able to use magic again.

If it were her, she wouldn’t want to give that up either~

“This octopus has amazing vitality! It doesn’t even eat normally, and no matter how much we ss with it, it won’t die!” Yan Xinya picked up the cup from the table, marveling. “Nature is incredible. Such a resilient little life~”

“Too bad Lily won’t let cut off one leg to taste it.”

The wolf girl grumbled, then suddenly changed the subject and asked, “Why did Wang Jie need to borrow money?”

“Well…”

Was that sothing she could say?

Getting his underage girlfriend pregnant before even eting the parents, that’s hardly sothing honorable.

A trace of hesitation appeared on Ning Chu’s face. After thinking it over for a mont, she decided not to reveal Wang Jie’s embarrassing situation. “Anyway, he’s short on money right now. Sothing ca up.”

“Oh~” Curiosity flickered in the wolf girl’s eyes, but she didn’t press further. She stretched lazily and stood up. “Ti for class~”

After arriving at the girls’ dorm, not much ti had passed. Still, since she had previously spent so ti in the boys’ dorm, the two-hour lunch break quickly ca to an end.

Ning Chu examined her nails, feeling satisfied, and followed behind Yan Xinya.

“Where’s your textbook for the afternoon class?”

“With Wen Yang.”

“Afternoon is Qian Qian’s English class, right? You can sleep through it again~”

The three girls walked out of the dorm one after another. With class ti approaching, the hallway outside had beco especially lively, filled everywhere with youthful, energetic girls.

As they stepped out of the dormitory entrance, Ning Chu imdiately spotted Wen Yang waiting under the shade of a tree across the way.

At that mont, however, Wen Yang was already surrounded by several enthusiastic girls. He put on an aloof, icy expression, completely ignoring the girls who were trying to get his contact information.

The mont he saw Ning Chu, he imdiately pushed through the girls around him. The frosty expression collapsed into a gentle smile, and he trotted over like an eager golden retriever.

“Co on, let’s go to class.”

“Hmph~”

Ning Chu crossed her arms over her chest and turned her head away, clearly displeased.

Even though she knew that holding onto her anger wasn’t a good look, the mont she saw Wen Yang, she couldn’t help the resentnt simring in her heart—especially when she saw him being surrounded by a bunch of girls again!

How many tis had she said it already? All girls who actively approach like that are bad won lusting after his body! He should just lower the quality and curse them away directly!

“I really was wrong. It won’t happen again,” Wen Yang said, following closely behind Ning Chu, his face full of apology.

“How about you hit a couple of tis?”

“Or I’ll cook sothing good for you tonight?”

After just a few words of apology, most of Ning Chu’s anger had already dissipated.

Still, lips pressed together, she punched Wen Yang’s arm twice. Seeing that he didn’t even change expression, she couldn’t help complaining, “It’s not like it hurts you anyway…”

Hearing that, Wen Yang imdiately clutched his arm, crying out in exaggerated pain.

“Idiot~”

Ning Chu almost burst out laughing at his act. She forced herself to keep a straight face. “I was in such a good mood, and you went and made furious!”

“How about I cook sothing nice tonight to make it up to you? What do you want to eat?”

She shook her head. “Nothing in particular.”

“Then cola? Ice cream?”

“I’m not disabled. If I want those things, I’ll buy them myself.”

At that mont, Yan Xinya suddenly darted over, looking excited. “An apology has to have so sincerity! What you’re offering won’t even fill a succubus’s stomach~”

Wen Yang froze for a mont. After being prompted like that, he suddenly realized what she ant.

To apologize properly to a succubus, the best way was, of course, to thoroughly satisfy a succubus’s enormous appetite.

Ning Chu’s face instantly flushed bright red. Embarrassed and angry, she swung at the wolf girl. “Are you crazy?! You pervert!”

“What did I even say? How am I a pervert?!”

She missed her swing and stumbled, then imdiately took off after the wolf girl. “Stop right there!”

“You’re the one thinking dirty thoughts!”

“Absolutely not!”

Watching the two girls chase and roughhouse their way off into the distance, Wen Yang hurried to quicken his pace as well. “Be careful—don’t fall.”
