Now reading: Chapter 240 13: Strife (Part 2) from Traveler of the River of Time and Space, a Sci-fi novel by Students of Buddhism.

This Buddhist master once left behind several magical artifacts, and this golden magic arrow is the most powerful among them. According to the original historical trajectory, it should have appeared decades later during the chaos of Yumizakura. However, this world has long deviated due to pollution, with the Nine-tailed Fox infiltrating the Fusang royal family earlier than expected, causing the Fusang branch of the Vinaya School founded by Master Jianzhen to also be embroiled in the conflict prematurely.

A faint dragon's chant echoed from the Fusang Imperial Palace.

Above the palace appeared a figure dressed in white Yin Yang Master attire, the famous figure of Fusang in this era, the chief Onmyoji Abe no Seii.

However, at this mont, his appearance was peculiar; his once handso face grew sharper, white fur gradually appearing on his cheeks, and fluffy ears erging. In just a few breaths, Abe no Seii had transford into a humanoid demon with a fox's face.

Child of the White Fox.

Legend has it that Abe no Seii's mother was a Fox Immortal nad Ge Ye. Now, it seems he indeed possesses half-demon blood.

——"Guardian Barrier!"

Faced with the demons and monsters roaring out from Vermilion Bird Dao, the first thing Abe no Seii did was use a talisman to set up a massive barrier, enveloping the entire Kyoto Imperial Palace within it. As for those outside the palace, he was sorry, but now he feared he could offer no help. For him, the safety of Fusang's royal family mbers was paramount, and the ordinary folk outside could only pray for their own fortune.

At this mont, almost half of Kyoto was engulfed in chaos, and the entire left capital region was ablaze with spreading fires.

Several shadows of Shikigami appeared behind Abe no Seii.

He left three of them within the Kyoto Imperial Palace before leading the others towards the location of Vermilion Bird Dao.

Underworld.

In Su Ziyu's view, the white dragon that originally hovered above the Ghost Capital had already transford into a gigantic Nine-tailed Fox, its pure white body gradually being covered with dark red spots.

Has the Nine-tailed Fox successfully stolen Fusang's national fortune?

Su Ziyu's expression was sowhat solemn. According to his original plan, he intended to investigate the source of pollution starting from the Netherworld, but having been suddenly frad, Su Ziyu had to temporarily leave Kyoto. However, he didn't expect so many things to happen during this ti; it seed the Nine-tailed Fox had indeed succeeded.

Su Ziyu was puzzled by the dark red spots on the Nine-tailed Fox.

A gust of wind rushed by.

A carriage ablaze with ghost fire appeared before Su Ziyu, with the silhouette of Aoandon seated atop it. She seed to have anticipated Su Ziyu's presence here, gesturing to the ghost-faced maid beside her to stop the carriage, then imdiately said: "Get on!"

Su Ziyu casually tossed the Nine Lives Cat onto the carriage, then climbed aboard himself.

Upon boarding, he saw two people at the back of the carriage, one of whom was Phoenix Fire, looking extrely stern at the mont. She nodded slightly upon seeing Su Ziyu, protecting a seven or eight-year-old girl behind her.

"Is it her?" Su Ziyu exclaid in surprise.

This young girl he had t once, in the palace within the Ghost Capital, was seated beside the Judge, was also the disguise of the Netherworld's Yama.

Aoandon cast a glance at Su Ziyu and softly said: "Let's leave here first."

"First, take Princess Tsukihi to a safe place."

Su Ziyu asked: "Where to?"

"Maple Forest." Aoandon urged the carriage to speed away and calmly explained: "The Guhuo Bird in Maple Forest had once received Lord Yama's favor; she will temporarily ensure Princess Tsukihi's safety."

Su Ziyu couldn't help but ask: "What exactly happened during this ti?"

As he finished speaking.

Aoandon's face showed an indescribable expression, and just as she was about to speak, a startling scene unfolded in the sky above the Ghost Capital. In Su Ziyu's vision, the Nine-tailed Fox, curling above the Ghost Capital, was increasingly corroded by dark red spots. Subsequently, so extrely eerie occurrences began.

The Nine-tailed Fox's tails gradually collapsed, with several bare giant snake heads appearing behind it, seemingly battling for control over its body.

One snake head, two snake heads, three snake heads...

The Nine-tailed Fox, initially transford from a white dragon, began deteriorating, replaced by a nacing creature with eight giant snake heads. The evaporating white mist from the Nine-tailed Fox gradually ford its body, the eight terrifying snake heads releasing an exhilarating roar towards the heavens.

——"Orochi!"

What coiled in the sky above the Ghost Capital did not appear to be a tangible entity but a manifestation of an influence Su Ziyu could not comprehend. The initial white dragon likely represented the imperial court of Fusang, and the succeeding Nine-tailed Fox was probably Yumizakura.

But now, Su Ziyu didn't know what transpired—after the Nine-tailed Fox's body crumbled, it transford into Orochi's phantom.

Are there more demons calculating Fusang's royal fate?

How unfortunate they are!

Fusang Royal Family's fortune is essentially ruined.

After the white dragon dispersed into the Nine-tailed Fox and then transford into Orochi, the white mist over the entire Ghost Capital had almost dissipated, mostly rging into Orochi's dark red silhouette.

For centuries to co, Fusang's royal family will beco a puppet display.

Yet this is also a part of history; Su Ziyu has no interest in helping Fusang's royal family. However, he cannot stand idly by while chaos reigned by demons prevails. Fusang's royal family is dood, but these rampaging demons and monsters must be dealt with. It seems the Nine-tailed Fox did not fully succeed and was also sched against.

A strong dragon can't suppress a local snake.

Su Ziyu is unsure what has transpired during this period, but rely observing Orochi spiraling above the Ghost Capital is enough to deduce that the Nine-tailed Fox didn't gain much advantage.

Aoandon led the group retreating westward.

After spending about half a day, the group reached a secluded area outside the Maple Forest.

"It's him!" Su Ziyu's pupils slightly contracted.

Two Great Demons appeared in his view, one was the Guhuo Bird he had seen before, and the other was a bald elderly man in black ceremonial attire.

"Aoandon, you've finally arrived." The bald man didn't seem surprised to see Su Ziyu. He turned, bowed towards the elegantly dressed girl on the carriage, and said: "Princess Tsukihi, you'll remain here temporarily."

Having spoken, he approached Aoandon and Phoenix Fire, and softly said: "We've found Lord Yama's location."

"She's trapped by the Nine-tailed Fox in the Gap of Yin and Yang."

A hint of excitent flickered in Phoenix Fire's expression, and she imdiately said: "Let's rescue Lord Yama at once!"

It seems the chaos in the Netherworld originated from the disappearance of Lord Yama.

"What exactly happened during this period?" Su Ziyu again asked gravely.

Aoandon glanced at him, motioned to speak aside, and then softly said: "After your commotion in the Ghost Capital, I learned Lord Yama had disappeared."

"The Netherworld seems to be secretly controlled, with many demons being released by them."

"I conducted an investigation quietly for so ti."

"Collaborated with Nurarihyon to rescue Princess Tsukihi, and then searched for Lord Yama's traces everywhere."

Aoandon paused, then slowly continued: "Not much is known on the Mortal World's side. But I heard from Abe no Seii that the Nine-tailed Fox had long transford into a beauty and infiltrated the palace; he might have acted already."

"The Nine-tailed Fox released the sealed Orochi."

"I'm uncertain about the situation in Kyoto; after rescuing Princess Tsukihi, I fled the Ghost Capital with her."

After listening to Aoandon, Su Ziyu fell into contemplation.

From the changes in the white mist above the Ghost Capital, it seems the culprits also turned against each other. Initially, the Nine-tailed Fox seized Fusang's fortune, yet later it transford into Orochi's phantom. She too has likely been calculated against.
