"It’s coming! ...That monster is coming!..." Pasha’s face was deathly pale, her expression sowhat lost, murmuring.
To deal with this terrifying monster, the group had nearly exhausted all their heavy firepower.
They even dropped a Fat Man nuclear bomb.
But even so, they couldn’t kill the horrific monster; instead, it reappeared the next day. The best ti to evacuate was actually right after the nuclear bomb drop on that day, when they still had many hands on deck. But because the ship was destroyed by the monster, they couldn’t swim back in their exoskeleton armor. With just a day’s delay, they were all trapped on this island.
Fortunately, the monster couldn’t co ashore; otherwise, they might not have lasted as long.
Dozens of mutant creatures charged up again.
The shortage of ammunition ant they could no longer suppress with heavy firepower. Plus, with a terrifying monster lurking nearby, everyone’s hearts were shrouded in a shadow, knowing they might not hold out this ti.
"Put the docunts back in the safe."
"Mark it with a Brotherhood symbol on top." Leon’s expression had a slight grimace as he gritted his teeth and said, "These docunts are crucial, can’t let those creatures destroy them."
"I’ll hold them off for a while."
As a core mber of the Brotherhood, Leon very well knew how important this information was. Even if they couldn’t take it out, they had to find a way to preserve it.
The Brotherhood would surely send people here again in the future.
Perhaps they wouldn’t last until then, but as long as the mark was left, others would certainly find these docunts.
Clang!
With the sound of tal falling, a grotesque mutant appeared before them. It was a monster with a dark red human head, its body not much different from a human but lacking arms, replaced by two extending dark red tentacles. Its lower body had four legs, an abdon full of eerie teeth, exposed muscles covered only by a thin blood-red mbrane, revealing the muscle fibers, appearing as if assembled from multiple human and beast bodies—just one glance at it polluted the spirit.
It was called a Multi-legged Beast.
An extrely greedy mutant monster, devouring nearly all the flesh it could see; there were quite a few on the island, with origins unknown.
As the Multi-legged Beast climbed up, more monsters sward over bit by bit.
Strange whispers began to echo.
For a mont, Pasha’s mind seed dazed, and just as she was distracted, a thick tentacle abruptly extended from the seabed, entwining towards her body.
Bang!
But just then, the sound of a light gunshot rang out.
The next second.
The tentacle exploded in the middle, with a seven or eight-ter-long section breaking off and thudding onto the deck.
"Soone? Reinforcents arrived?" Leon’s expression turned ecstatic.
The others were instantly invigorated, and the previously sowhat distracted Pasha froze, her expression slowly morphing into disbelief, as a familiar deep male voice echoed directly in her ear: "Don’t be afraid! Focus! I’m coming right away!"
A hallucination?
Am I hallucinating?
"Su?" Pasha turned her head toward the depths of the mist, unable to see anything.
Not far away.
Su Ziyu leapt across, evading the tentacles extending from the seabed. He initially thought there was a powerful mutant here, but after truly encountering it, he never expected such a monster.
——"Offspring of the Old Gods [Mutation][Devour][Pollution][ntal Domination]!"
"Alert! Alert!"
"Pollution source detected! Activating Space-Ti Monitor System automatic response mode!"
"Mission issued: Eliminate the pollution source!"
"Mission reward: Mind Control Elent enhancent expansion! ...Divinity Value drop!..."
Bang.
A tentacle covered in suction cups attacked, Su Ziyu soared into the air, shooting back. But the monster’s regenerative ability was horrifying, with all wounds healing in re seconds.
Can’t kill it!
At least not in the short term.
Su Ziyu gazed at the massive shadow under the sea, heading straight toward the abandoned carrier without looking back.
Save Pasha first.
This monster can wait for later.
Truthfully, if the low-flying Su Ziyu hadn’t drawn most of the monster’s attention, Pasha’s group might have been wiped out long ago.
The abandoned carrier ca into view.
Su Ziyu saw four people in exoskeleton power armor, facing a huge crowd of swarming mutant creatures, with their entire defense line on the verge of collapse. He even saw soone fighting with iron pipes torn from the carrier.
——"Static Field [Spiritual Qi]!"
Tiny arcs of electricity appeared in Su Ziyu’s palms. As he landed, he pulled open a six-ter electric net, which then created a chain reaction with the static field, discharging dense currents outward. In an instant, all the creatures froze.
"Reinforcents have arrived!"
"Wait!"
"Why is there only one person?" Leon shook his head slightly. He was just struck on the head by a sneak attack, fortunate to have the exoskeleton armor’s protection; otherwise, his head might have burst open on the spot.
What’s going on?
Why is my whole body numb, as though electrocuted?
Leon felt his mind was chaotic, even seeming to hallucinate, seeing a man with electricity coursing through his palms, the surrounding creatures reduced to charred remains in an instant.
Pasha stood frozen too.
She had imagined countless tis reuniting with Su Ziyu, but never in such circumstances.
She was the clearest-minded among the group.
She clearly saw Su Ziyu descending from the sky, then conjuring raging electric serpents as he landed, with arcs slicing through the air, felling monsters about to swarm.
Clang!
A gleam of cold light flashed by.
So fast it was indistinguishable; nearby, a burst of blood appeared, and the Multi-legged Beast’s head was instantly severed.
"Move!"
Su Ziyu leapt onto the deck, speaking heavily: "There’s another big one nearby. Let’s get to the island first."
It’s really him!
Not a hallucination!
At that mont, Pasha even felt an urge to cry, staring blankly at Su Ziyu before her, his familiar face overlapping with mory. mories of the Southern Cross resurfaced.
Su Ziyu’s appearance had hardly changed.
In contrast, Pasha looked much more mature than before. Although androids aged slowly, traces of ti could still be seen left on her.
"Why are you spacing out?" Su Ziyu frowned, shouting.
A montary lapse.
"Alert! Alert!"
"Unknown ntal shock detected! ...Current ntal pollution value 0.5%!..."
Strange whispers echoed.
The voice made Su Ziyu’s hairs stand on end, unable to comprehend the language, but the sound akin to nails on a blackboard discomforted him imnsely. He’d heard sothing similar back when he first activated the Space-Ti Monitor System, nearly driving him mad.
This ti the whispers weren’t as powerful, yet still made Su Ziyu quite uncomfortable.
Those present were all seasoned warriors.
While Su Ziyu’s appearance was impactful, their reaction ti was swift. Leon almost instantly recognized him, shouting: "Charge out! Take the docunts! Let’s get out of here first!"
The abandoned carrier trembled lightly.
Su Ziyu sensed a large creature edging closer to the shallows, its vast body sowhat restricted near shallow water.
