Now reading: Chapter 340 - 24: Beidou!2 from Traveler of the River of Time and Space, a Sci-fi novel by Students of Buddhism.

Next to him was Doctor A, a blonde man whose gaze swept over the projections of the others, and slowly said, "Before the eting begins, I want to show you so things recently captured by satellite."

Having said that, he snapped his fingers towards Heaven.

In an instant.

A gigantic steel city appeared before everyone’s eyes. At the center of this steel city was a flagpole, several hundred ters tall, with a bright red flag imprinted with a gold five-pointed star fluttering atop it.

"Beidou?!"

"Have they completely finished?"

The eting room was abuzz with discussion for a mont.

Doctor A’s expression was quite solemn as he slowly said, "As you can see, this is the industrial city in Asia that has been rebuilt—Beidou."

The image shifted.

Interconnected roads appeared before their eyes, with thousands of heavy trucks transporting massive quantities of resources into the industrial city. Everywhere were extrely busy people, resembling countless worker bees, each fulfilling their tasks, gradually perfecting this enormous industrial city. Scenes of construction were visible everywhere, with satellite images swiftly passing by, showing steel buildings being erected anew.

"Their heavy industry has fully recovered."

Doctor A’s expression was sowhat downcast as he slowly said, "Although Gaia cannot invade their database due to interference from Nuwa and Tianhe, we have captured quite a bit."

The image shifted again.

Appearing before the audience was a heavy armor cluster stretching dozens of kiloters, one by one, super large modified Exoskeleton Power Armor advancing slowly. Behind dozens of these super large Exoskeleton Power Armors were hundreds of armored troop carriers; exposed in the footage were orderly squads of soldiers standing with guns, resembling iron human sculptures.

Silver tallic modified limbs holding heavy weaponry, swiftly forming formations upon approaching their destination, first executing a round of concentrated fire coverage, then steadily advancing toward a distant city already turned to ruins.

Intense battle erupted instantly.

In the audience’s view appeared swaths of Corpse Ghosts, as if startled by sothing, surging forward like a black tide, with dozens of visible super Mutants.

"In the Old World period, their population reached 1.5 billion."

"Almost five tis ours."

Doctor A said gravely, "After the disaster erupted, at least a hundred million Corpse Ghosts were born on their land."

"Whether it’s the difficulty of rebuilding or the threats faced."

"They exceed us several fold."

"But now they’ve rebuilt a super industrial city while we have idled for over a hundred years in underground labs."

"Even if we are slightly ahead in technology, so what?"

"An internal war directly did us great harm."

The image shifted again.

Another fully ard heavy armored cluster positioned along what seed to be a coastal area, with a previously bustling city now turned entirely into ruins visible not far away.

The battle broke out again.

The footage changed once more to a new location, another armored cluster with a different flag advanced again; this appeared to be a large inland city.

"In just half a year, Beidou ard three heavy armored clusters."

"Dividing forces into three routes to reclaim lost territory."

Doctor A lightly tapped with his finger, and the image imdiately shifted to the interior of Beidou, where thousands upon thousands of ordinary people appeared in view. Those in the conference room soon noticed these ordinary people—almost half their bodies had been modified into chanical forms, unlike simple chanical limb modifications here; most were nearly half-chanical life forms.

"Have you noticed?"

"Their bionic technology prevalence is ten tis greater than ours!" Doctor A said in a gloomy tone, "Back during the Pacific Convention."

"We should have shared genetic technology with them."

"But due to the Genetics Faction’s obstruction, we only agreed to provide them finished Antiradiation Potion, with the core component always held by the Genetics Faction."

"This indeed temporarily curbed their developnt, causing a sharp slowdown in their population growth."

"But what was the result?"

"Under the pressure of survival, they fully abandoned genetic technology and poured national effort into conquering bionic technology."

"As you can see."

"Inside Beidou, there are millions of semi-chanical bionic humans like these. Their work efficiency far surpasses ordinary humans; only slight modifications would make them all elite semi-chanical Warriors. While we are studying how to let bionic humans obtain normal human neural reactions, they have already developed chanical modifications to a degree far beyond ours; while we are pondering how to replace human skin and flesh with synthetic materials, they have completed widespread semi-chanical modifications."

"The Genetics Faction choked their lifeline, cutting off their Antiradiation Potion source, but it also forced them to fight desperately."

"Ladies and gentlen."

"We are already too far behind!"

The whole conference room was enveloped in dead silence.

Many people looked at each other, and a scholar resembling a middle-aged woman stood up and said, "At least we are still far ahead in advanced humanoid bionic technology."

"What use is that?" Doctor A looked at her, saying sternly, "Industrial system."

"Resource allocation."

"With their current pace, it won’t be long before they reclaim the entire nation; then, with their already well-established industrial system, they will soon acquire resources far exceeding ours."

"Do you really think they have not researched advanced humanoid bionic technology?"

"This person."

"Codena Yaoli, advanced bionic human, Beidou’s top assassin."

"Can you see that he is a bionic human?"

A seemingly ordinary young man appeared in the footage, his appearance almost featureless, expression sowhat blank. As the footage changed, his figure appeared amid ruins, next to a super Mutant’s corpse; at this point, his gaze was sharp, wiping the war blade in his hand.

"Hand-to-hand combat."

"He had once killed a super Mutant in close combat. Do you know what this represents?"

"How many people in our ranks do you think can accomplish this?"

Doctor A shook his head and said, "They are not incapable of modifying advanced bionic humans; it’s just due to resource scarcity that only a small elite portion could be ard initially."

"When they reclaim Asia."

"With the vast resources of all Asia combined with Beidou’s industrial system, how long do you think it will take them to rebuild civilization?"

Everyone present could not help but look at each other.

"What should we do then? Should we negotiate with the Genetics Faction?" At this point, a man stood up and quietly said, "We have already fallen out with them completely."

"The possibility of negotiation is extrely low."

Doctor A raised his head, a glimr of fanaticism appearing in his eyes, and said firmly, "Facts have proven."

"Our path is the correct one."

"Only the Bionics School can end the wasteland apocalypse and return all humans to civilized society."

"We should no longer hide in underground labs."

"The Academy has always hoped to wait for sufficiently mature technology before erging to save the wasteland, but how can we conquer the wasteland without facing all its challenges?"

"The Academy should be visible to the world."

"We need large numbers of bionic humans, large numbers of synthetics; we possess the most advanced chanical modification technology, so why keep it in the lab?"

"Beidou has already taken the lead."

"But it’s not too late for us to take action now; as long as we unite, we can assemble an army to reclaim those large cities within at most half a year."

The old man next to him was silent for a long ti, then asked suddenly, "What about the Genetics Faction?"

"Collaborate with Beidou, share so technology mutually." Doctor A’s eyes flashed a cold light, saying coldly, "They are also on the evolutionary path of the Bionics School, they will support us!"

"Flesh is weak."

"It is ti for humanity to welco a second evolution!"
