Firelink Shrine.
Hawkwood’s refusal didn’t make the Naless Sun Knight angry; he sighed regretfully and then directly walked toward the nearby Firekeeper.
A little different from facing past embers.
This ti, the Firekeeper stood up to greet the arrival of the Naless Knight and even bowed voluntarily, softly saying, "Ash Lord."
"We have been waiting for you for a long ti."
The Naless Sun Knight slightly shook his head but didn’t speak; he just kneeled down on one knee and extended a hand. The Firekeeper gently placed her hand on the Naless Knight’s forehead, and as wisps of white light erged, a soul power began to awaken within the Naless Knight’s body. The aura he emitted grew stronger, even exuding strands of pale golden light.
The Naless Sun Knight soon stood up again.
He took another look at the throne of the Firelink Shrine, said nothing, and directly turned around to leave.
However.
Just as he was leaving the Firelink Shrine, the Naless Sun Knight slightly frowned as though sensing sothing. He turned and walked toward a nearby high tower.
Soon, a warrior with an unusual tachi appeared before him.
The man’s expression was cold; his eyes watched the distant Sun Knight with vigilance, and he murmured, "Unburned Ash. This isn’t where you should be."
After saying this, the warrior gripped his weapon, ready for battle.
Who are the Unburned Ashes?
They were all notable strong figures in history. Those slightly weaker didn’t even qualify as kindling to burn, let alone the Sun Knight before him, who was likely a forr Lord of Ash.
The Naless Sun Knight walked straight ahead.
Seeing that the warrior did not move away, his face slightly changed. In a flash of cold light, he slashed directly at the Naless Knight’s head without a word.
Clang.
The clash of weapons sparked fireflies, with the Naless Sun Knight standing unmoved while the warrior with the tachi retreated half a step. But he didn’t give up and swiftly spun around to strike again, simultaneously moving to circle the Naless Knight’s right side. Yet, the Naless Knight didn’t turn around, effortlessly swinging his Great Sword as if he had eyes, once again forcing the warrior back.
Clang, clang, clang!
Feeling a bit impatient.
The Naless Sun Knight’s palm produced golden lightning, which gathered into a long spear that pierced the warrior’s chest in an instant.
A faintly glowing soul appeared.
The Naless Sun Knight reached out to crush the soul and continued toward the high tower ahead.
Soon.
A crypt appeared in his vision, and upon seeing everything inside, the Naless Knight’s pupils contracted. He stood silently for a while before slowly turning to leave.
It was all corpses inside.
A row of Firekeeper corpses, so had completely turned to bones, others seed not long dead, still wear the intact Firekeeper attire.
The Naless Knight’s steps grew slightly heavier.
Yet his gaze remained steadfast as he walked outside, only pausing to deeply glance at the Firelink Shrine behind him before departing.
.........
One day quickly passed.
Su Ziyu followed Sister Fried in the wilderness for quite a while until a majestic city appeared in view.
It was a dieval-style city with towering walls and spire-topped towers, the walls still flickered with flas, and so warrior corpses lay scattered around.
"Is that Lothric Royal City?" Su Ziyu gazed at the distant city, which looked magnificent and epic. Even from afar, he could see so collapsed buildings, with a moat in front of the royal city, and the bridge connecting to it had already fallen, revealing vaguely a massive corpse buried in the ruins.
Dragon.
Another dead Flying Dragon.
This Flying Dragon appeared even larger, its spread wings estimated around forty or fifty ters, seemingly its corpse had caused the bridge to collapse.
"Ancient Flying Dragon," Sister Fried murmured.
She gazed at the distant Flying Dragon carcass and whispered, "Before I awakened, Lothric’s royal city was already like this."
"A fierce war once broke out here."
"There are more Flying Dragon corpses inside."
Sister Fried pointed in a direction as she continued, "That is the Ancient Dragon Peak."
"One can only reach it through so special ans."
"There’s a well-preserved Immortal Ancient Dragon corpse there; when I first saw it, I was incredibly shocked. I didn’t expect such massive creatures could still exist."
"The remains resemble a series of mountains."
Su Ziyu glanced in the direction Sister Fried pointed but saw only mists, unable to see anything else. Immortal Ancient Dragons once ruled during the Chaos Era. Before opening the Age of Fire, Gwyn slew all Immortal Ancient Dragons, leaving only the scaleless White Dragon—Heath, which was eventually used as kindling for the First Fla.
