After washing the bubbles off their hands, Beibei poked Guoguo’s nose with her wet fingers, and Guoguo wiped Beibei’s face. Then, the two of them embraced each other, their noses rubbing together, giggling joyfully.
How wonderful it would be if my future children could be this adorable too!
Zhu Qianyu thought enviously, watching the two little kids without blinking.
Leading the two kids out, there were already three bowls of syrup placed on the coffee table.
"Auntie, this one’s for you!" Guoguo pointed to the larger bowl and said to Zhu Qianyu.
Zhu Qianyu gave her a peck on the cheek, "Hmm, thanks, Guoguo!"
Beibei tilted her little face and looked at her sideways, pointing at her own cheek, "Auntie, what about Beibei?"
Zhu Qianyu instantly understood!
She leaned over and gave Beibei’s cheek a "muah," and finally, Beibei happily ran to the coffee table, dragged her bowl of syrup to herself, picked up a spoon, and began drinking.
Halfway through eating the syrup, the phone in the living room rang.
Zhu Qianyu didn’t have ti to call for Nuonuo before Nuonuo’s voice unexpectedly ca from sowhere, "Xiao Yu, answer the phone."
Although hesitant, since this was not her ho, Zhu Qianyu picked up the receiver because of Nuonuo’s instructions, "Hello!"
"Xiao Yu? Out of school?" It was Ji Huan.
"Yeah, just got back, eating syrup now," Zhu Qianyu replied truthfully.
"So lucky! I wish I could eat that too!" Ji Huan’s tone was rather helpless.
"Well, co back on Friday, I’ll make it for you," Zhu Qianyu replied naturally.
"Really? You must rember, don’t trick !" Ji Huan’s helplessness instantly turned into excitent.
"Of course I will rember. I don’t have any classes Friday afternoon, so I’ll co ho early to make it. Tell what you want to eat, and I’ll make it for you."
Being the daughter of a top chef and spending her childhood experinting in the kitchen, Zhu Qianyu had pretty good skills in both pastry making and cooking.
"Let think about it!"
"No rush. Besides syrup, what do you want to eat on Friday? I can cook for you then."
Zhu Qianyu felt that staying at Ji’s Family, she shouldn’t eat and lodge for free. As long as the Ji Family didn’t mind, she was willing to show off her culinary skills.
"Oh my, why do I feel like I’ve brought ho a model wife?"
Zhu Qianyu blushed from Ji Huan’s teasing, "Ji Huan, if you keep talking nonsense, I’ll take back what I said."
"Alright, alright, my mistake, spare , Xiao Yu!"
Zhu Qianyu flirted over the phone with Ji Huan in L City, while Beibei and Guoguo cuddled together, giggling quietly while holding their mouths.
As Nuonuo said, by six thirty, Ji Rui and wife’s and Ji Dabao’s cars parked outside the Ji Family’s yard on ti.
Nuonuo was in the kitchen helping out and as usual, the two little ones yelled out upon seeing Grandpa and Daddy’s cars, prompting Zhu Qianyu to take their hands and lead them outside to greet the three mbers of the Ji Family.
"Hi Uncle Ji, Aunt Tong, Brother Ji!"
Beibei and Guoguo ran towards Le Tong and Ji Dabao respectively, while Zhu Qianyu thoughtfully took the bag from Le Tong’s hand.
"Xiao Yu, are you hungry? We’re late from work, if you’re hungry, you can have so food to tide you over."
Le Tong picked up Beibei but didn’t forget to remind Zhu Qianyu.
"Aunt Tong, I had syrup when I ca back, not hungry."
Following beside Le Tong, Ji Rui teased Beibei, as Zhu Qianyu reached out to take the computer bag from Ji Dabao, quickly went back indoors to help Nuonuo and Aunt Guan with serving the dishes.
After dinner, Zhu Qianyu was in the kitchen making fruit pudding, and Nuonuo ca in to help.
"Xiao Yu, I heard from Little Treasure, your cooking skills are great."
Nuonuo’s culinary skills stayed at the level of rice cooker als and hadn’t improved over the years.
"Sister Han, don’t believe Little Treasure’s exaggerations, my mom’s the real master chef, I just picked up a few tricks here and there."
Zhu Qianyu is a fan of Si Han, and she rembers that Si Han had ntioned on Weibo that her cooking wasn’t great, so naturally, Zhu Qianyu didn’t want to brag.
Not to ntion that Si Han is her idol, she wouldn’t rub salt in soone’s wounds even if it were family.
"Really envious!"
But Zhu Qianyu envied Si Han, "Sister Han, the song you wrote for Ji Yu is so beautiful. I beca your fan after listening to it. Ji Yu must be very happy to have soone write such beautiful music for him and can have a personal performance anyti!"
Indeed, everyone has their strengths; what Zhu Qianyu could do for Ji Huan, Si Han might not be able to do for Ji Yu.
But what Si Han could do for Ji Yu, Zhu Qianyu couldn’t do for Ji Huan.
"That’s true!"
Nuonuo felt her slight gloom dissipate after hearing what Xiao Yu said.
"By the way, I’m holding a recital in L City at the end of this month. Is your sister interested? If she is, I’ll ask Little Treasure to send her two invitations."
Nuonuo heard from Little Treasure that Xiao Yu’s sister is only twenty this year too. She thought that formally eting the parents might be too serious; since they are peers, it might be better to take the opportunity of her recital for everyone to et and connect.
"Sure! My sister likes classical music a lot; give the invitations, and I’ll go with her to support you."
The two chatted happily in the kitchen while the Ji Family mbers in the living room were thoughtfully not interrupting them.
"Little Treasure said you’re writing a network drama script, is it finished? I’m interested in it!"
"I’ve written about half, but the fastest it’ll be finished will probably be by the Spring Festival."
Nuonuo nodded, "Actually, I quite like realistic films. Xiao Yu, if you write a script in the future with a role that suits , let act in it!"
Since Si Han’s return, she’s been choosy with scripts but hasn’t found a suitable one.
If asked what she wants to act in now, she’d prefer roles and thes with real significance.
Zhu Qianyu felt honored, "Sister Han, are you serious?"
She’s just an intern who hasn’t even graduated from college yet, how could she deserve a script request from an award-winning actress and singer?
"Of course I’m serious! Honestly, I’m soone who’s always seeking freshness. I never want to replay the sa role; the ones I’ve played are varied in type, and if it’s written by you, I feel it surely would be more outstanding and innovative than those old-style scripts."
"Sister Han, you wouldn’t be asking this because of Little Treasure, would you?" Zhu Qianyu’s reaction wasn’t surprising.
But Nuonuo wasn’t asking out of Xiao Yu and Little Treasure’s relationship, but rather, she had seen the award-winning network drama scripted and directed by Zhu Qianyu herself – both the subject matter and the way it was expressed were to her liking!
