"Baby, let’s go ho!"

Ji Rui squatted down and scooped up Ji Baby.

"Hey... Daddy, I’m playing chess with Grandpa..." Ji Baby flailed his arms and legs, struggling.

Ji Rui didn’t care and shifted Ji Baby into a comfortable position, striding toward the door.

Mr. Ji didn’t react at first, and by the ti he did and started chasing after them, Ji Rui had already put on his shoes and was ready to open the door to leave.

"Ah Ru..." He reached out to tug at Ji Rui’s sleeve.

Ji Rui turned his head and gave him a brief glance, "Don’t involve Ji Baby in this, take care of yourself!"

Sohow, their father-son conversations had beco as intense as those between enemies.

"I..."

Before Mr. Ji could finish, Ji Rui had already brushed off his hand and carried Ji Baby out the door.

"Bad Daddy, not letting play chess with Grandpa!"

Little Ji Baby, of course, didn’t understand the feud between Grandpa and Daddy, and just kept hitting Ji Rui’s shoulder with his small hands, annoyed that his chess ga had been interrupted.

"Daddy will take you to eat a seafood buffet!" The words that ca out of Ji Rui’s mouth weren’t an explanation or an attempt to coax his son.

But to a little foodie like Ji Baby, these words were much more appealing than any explanation!

"Really?" Ji Baby imdiately bead and wrapped his arms around Ji Rui’s neck.

"Of course it’s true! Also, from now on, Daddy will pick you up from ho every day. If anyone else cos, don’t go with them, you understand?"

Ji Baby stared at Ji Rui. Unlike Ji Rui’s light green eyes, his eyes were bright and black, probably like his mother’s.

Just when Ji Rui thought Ji Baby wouldn’t agree, Ji Baby nodded heavily.

"Yes, Ji Baby understands! Even if Grandpa cos to pick up, I won’t go with him!"

Whether Ji Baby said this to please Ji Rui or because he truly understood his words, it made no difference. Ji Rui, seeing his goal achieved, said no more.

Teacher Wang also ntioned that Ji Baby is a very smart child; he might know a lot more than adults think!

Just like at that matchmaking party back then, who would have thought that Ji Baby could handle those five hundred socialites all by himself, with his clever tongue?

Moreover, two or three months have passed, and those socialites still seem to be recovering from the blow. The won who used to linger around him every few days have almost entirely vanished. From this alone, one can see how remarkable Ji Baby’s eloquence and intelligence are!

After having the buffet, Ji Rui and Ji Baby returned ho late, past nine. The two maids automatically wanted to take Ji Baby for a bath.

However, Ji Baby clung to Ji Rui, and in the end, Ji Rui personally helped Young Master Ji bathe, change, and sleep.

Watching his son quickly fall asleep, Ji Rui finally took a shower himself, then went to the study and worked until the early hours before heading to bed, exhausted.

And so, the cohabitation of father and son began.

Ji Rui’s life beca busier, with any spare ti filled entirely with work or Ji Baby.

Life felt tiring, but his heart had never felt so fulfilled.

While Ji Rui’s ti at ho with his beloved son grew more harmonious, at the company, because of that box of coffee beans, his recently warming relationship with Le Tong instantly plumted back to its coldest point.

He only enjoyed ho-cooked breakfast and coffee for a day. The next day, his desk returned to its previous state of coldness: piles of oppressive docunts and computers, with only the two green cacti remaining.

Staring at the cacti, Ji Rui felt a sense of lancholy, yet he couldn’t understand where this unfamiliar and inexplicable feeling of sorrow ca from.

Early this morning, Le Tong accompanied Ji Rui to a eting that had been urgently moved up by several days, leaving her to eat breakfast in the car.

Holding her lunchbox, Le Tong ate the pancakes she had made, unapologetically eating one bite at a ti without bothering to ask if President Ji had already eaten breakfast.

Ji Rui was utterly ignored, yet still maintained a composed deanor, while Le Tong munched away. Beside her, he quietly opened his computer and reviewed the presentation materials for the upcoming eting.

"Why are the docunts for that southern land incomplete?"

Ji Rui carefully reviewed the files again and indeed found a few pages missing compared to what he had seen yesterday.

Le Tong, holding a fork with a piece of pancake, quickly leaned over to have a look.

Noticing that the original five pages had been reduced to three.

Without a word, Le Tong closed her lunchbox, set it aside, and took out her own laptop.

"President, I’ll resend the files to your email."

"Alright!" Ji Rui replied, imdiately opening his email.

"Summarize the prospects for that land again. I think the Planning Departnt’s details aren’t thorough enough and lack persuasiveness."

"Okay!"

The two workaholics used the ti in the car to work together.

As Le Tong organized the materials, Ji Rui accidentally turned his head, and the golden sunlight stread through the car window, coating her face and body in a golden glow, making her already charming features appear even more enchanting.

Ji Rui’s gaze was captivated by the picturesque beauty before him, only snapping out of it when Le Tong lifted her head and t his thoughtful eyes.

"Finished?"

Le Tong nodded, "Yes, I’m sending it to you now."

At this point, Xiao Li, who had been silently driving, suddenly spoke up.

"President, if you haven’t had breakfast, do you need to find a nearby restaurant so you can grab a bite?"

Ji Rui, having rushed out today without even waiting for Ji Baby to wake up, naturally felt hungry.

However, with the eting being so important and the traffic less than smooth, he didn’t want to delay it over a re breakfast.

"No need! Let’s not waste ti!"

Ji Rui refused the driver’s kind offer without a second thought.

Le Tong, seeing this, secretly glanced at him, noticing that although he looked slightly better than previous days, he still seed a bit tired, causing her heart to soften a little.

She reached out, took the lunchbox again, opened it, and gestured for Ji Rui to have so.

"President, if you don’t mind, would you like a couple of pancakes?"

Le Tong’s offer took Ji Rui by surprise, but before he could think it through, Le Tong had already placed the lunchbox in his hands without any hesitation.

"Eat while it’s warm. Skipping breakfast can harm the stomach."

Le Tong thought to herself that she was definitely the best example of soone who forgets pain once the scar has healed!
