Ji Rui spent two consecutive days working overti with several employees from Jisu Company in the office, and hadn’t returned ho for two days. In the morning, his adorable son called and threw a fit; Ji Rui couldn’t get angry but instead softly coaxed his son for a while. In the end, he promised to pick him up on ti in the afternoon to take him for a nice al, at which point Ji Baby relented.

Because of this, during Le Tong’s tenure as his secretary over these past six months, it was the first ti she saw President Ji leave early for personal reasons.

Le Tong knew President Ji left early for personal reasons because when he left, he opened a map app on his phone and handed it to her for confirmation, "Is this the restaurant you ntioned?"

Le Tong glanced at the screen and nodded, "Yes, that’s the one. Oh, I forgot to ntion, you can call ahead to make a reservation, informing them you’ll bring a child along. They will prepare a surprise gift for the child, perhaps a fun toy or an exclusive dessert."

Ji Rui nodded, put away his phone, and strode out.

Ji Rui arrived at the kindergarten just in ti; as his car was stopping, he saw the school gate open and the teacher leading the kids out.

He stood by the car, refraining from joining other parents who crowded around the entrance looking around anxiously. Only when he saw Teacher Wang leading a group of children out did he walk over.

"Daddy! Daddy!"

Before he got close, the eagerly waiting Ji Baby had already darted towards him like a rocket.

Ji Rui squatted down and opened his arms, catching his baby with a smile as Ji Baby wrapped his arms around his neck and kissed him twice on the lips with a "muah muah," "Daddy, Baby missed you so much! Did Daddy miss Baby?"

Ji Rui patted his butt, "Yes!"

Ji Rui was always tight-lipped, making it difficult to get sweet words from him. Even his beloved son only got a simple word.

Fortunately, Ji Baby had grown accustod to President Ji’s fond but reserved deanor. Even a simple "Yes" was enough to make him giggle cheerfully.

"Daddy, where are you taking Baby for so good food?"

The little foodie in his heart placed utmost importance, after Daddy, on eating.

Ji Rui checked the ti; it was still early, "Daddy will take you to play for a while before dinner, okay?"

This morning, after asking Le Tong, he looked up the restaurant surroundings and so guides, seeing many recomndations for a children’s play center nearby.

"Yay, Baby gets to play! Daddy is great!"

Upon hearing that his daddy was not only taking him for good food but also fun play, Ji Baby jumped for joy and showered Ji Rui with lavish praise.

The play center ntioned online was actually a children’s indoor playroom with a ball pit, slide, and other simple, traditional children’s play facilities.

Upon seeing these, Ji Rui was slightly disappointed, yet these facilities, simple and traditional as they were, had Ji Baby playing happily—sotis yelling and jumping in the ball pit, sotis hiding in the plastic maze to play hide and seek with other kids, sotis on the trampoline screaming and laughing while bouncing high.

Watching his baby play until he was sweaty, Ji Rui’s frown slowly relaxed, and he took out his phone to capture photos from various angles.

Baby was swinging, his laughter like silver bells spilling through the air as his body swung to and fro, and Ji Rui held the rope with one hand while busy taking photos of his baby.

At that mont, he deeply realized that the happiness a thing brings might not be asured by its price.

Especially for children, much happiness cos from the simplest things.

For example, just this ordinary swing made from a wooden board and two ropes. Also, simply having Daddy spend twenty yuan to enjoy the whole play center.

Ji Rui couldn’t help but reflect on himself; over the years, he had been imrsed day and night in work at Ji Family, no wonder Ji Baby always called him a big anie.

If, for a few of those years, he had occasionally put aside ten or twenty yuan to accompany Ji Baby to places like this to play, wouldn’t Ji Baby’s childhood mories be more vibrant and colorful?

Happy tis always fly by quickly; in a blink, Ji Baby had already played at the play center for two hours, and Ji Rui checked the ti—it was ti to feed Ji Baby.

"Baby, it’s ti for dinner!"

Ji Baby climbed out of the ball pit, sweaty from head to toe, "Daddy, can we co back to play again next ti?"

Facing those clear and beautiful eyes, Ji Rui couldn’t find it in his heart to refuse.

"Okay!"

Recently, he felt like he owed Baby a mommy; now he realized, besides a mommy, he also owed Baby a simple and happy childhood.

Fortunately, he discovered this not too late!

Leaving the play center, Baby tugged on Ji Rui’s hand, "Daddy, I want to be like him!"

Ji Rui followed Baby’s pointing finger and saw a little boy of about two or three riding on his dad’s shoulders, while his own son had eyes filled with envy.

Ji Rui said nothing, bent down to slip his hands under Baby’s armpits, exerted his arms, then easily lifted Baby up—he flew over Ji Rui’s head and was soon riding on his shoulders.

Ji Baby joyfully wrapped one arm around Ji Rui’s head and slapped his back with the other, shouting, "Giddyup, run!"

Being prodded as a horse by his beloved son, Ji Rui, rare for him, did not get angry. Of course, he also didn’t follow Baby’s command to run, ultimately choosing not to gallop—after all, he was the composed and impassive Ji Rui, not the playful Yang Sheng.

Baby seed very lenient with his demands; even though Ji Rui didn’t perform, Baby was still having a blast on his own.

The father and son duo walked serenely out of the play center, with the elder calmly supporting his son’s little legs, as the younger giggled, riding high on his shoulders.

"Mr. Ji..." Driver Li parked the car at the play center’s entrance, and upon seeing the father and son uniquely coming out this way, his eyes nearly popped out.

Actually, such a scene is the most ordinary among father and son in Ordinary People families. But for Ji Rui—who appears cold and unfeeling—to indulge a child like this was jaw-dropping for Driver Li.

The driver lifted his hand to take over the baby, but Baby ignored him.

Seeing Baby engrossed, Ji Rui looked up at the sign for "Ordinary People" several hundred ters away, without hesitation, he left Driver Li behind and headed towards the sign.

"Drive the car over, Baby and I will walk over slowly."

Driver Li was even more astonished, amazed that the usually rigorous and stern President would actually carry his son through the streets?
