Ji Rui and the doctors, filled with both excitent and anxiety, finally pushed the baby into the operating room after a week. During that week, Le Tong hadn’t returned any calls.
During this ti, Ji Rui called Zhang Yi several tis, and the other party explained that a sudden pest infestation had occurred in the mountain crops, and Le Tong had accompanied several experts into the mountains to deal with it. However, as he listened to the hallway clock tick-tock slowly outside the operating room, it felt as though a century had passed. Finally, the operating room’s indicator light went out, and Ji Rui, who had been pacing back and forth anxiously, realized that his tightly clenched palms were full of sweat.
Doctor Dong walked out of the operating room, smiled knowingly at Ji Rui.
"Mr. Ji, the surgery went very smoothly, don’t worry!"
After the baby’s surgery, he had to stay in the isolation room for observation. Ji Rui stood behind the glass, looking at the baby sleeping quietly on the hospital bed, his heart filled with a myriad of emotions.
He stood there for most of the day. Doctor Dong and the hospital director tried to persuade him to leave twice, but he wouldn’t budge. In the end, everyone just let him stand there and watch.
Ji Rui couldn’t find a single word to describe his feelings during this ti. At that mont, looking at the unclear little face through the glass, his heart was full of the bittersweet joy of recovering sothing lost.
In the hallway, he was alone, with no one daring to disturb him.
He stood there quietly, suddenly feeling that the empty space beside him was glaringly obvious and awkward.
Sure enough, since his mother left that year, he had slowly learned to face everything alone.
But over these days, he seed to have gotten used to having Le Tong accompany him. Now, with her absence, he really found it hard to adjust!!
Taking out his phone, once again, he dialed Le Tong’s number.
He hadn’t held much hope, but this ti, the call went through!
However, the phone rang for a long ti without anyone answering. Just as Ji Rui thought the other party wouldn’t answer, the call connected.
"Hello, Mr. Ji..."
Le Tong’s voice was very low and hoarse.

Ji Rui finally felt a sense of relief.
The baby, having had a successful surgery, would soon be back to health. And Le Tong would be back soon too.
At this point, Ji Rui even started imagining scenes of the three of them laughing and playing together in his mind.
In the evening, Ji Rui finally returned to the ward, washed his face, leaned on the sofa intending to take a short break. But just as he closed his eyes for a mont, the phone suddenly rang.
Exhausted, Ji Rui was already on the verge of sleep, groggily reaching for the phone without looking at the caller ID. He pressed the answer button and put the phone to his ear.
"Hello, this is Ji Rui."
"Rui, it’s !"
A woman’s crisp voice ca through the receiver, and Ji Rui’s drowsiness instantly vanished.
Unconsciously sitting up straight, "CoCo, about that matter, I was just going to tell you, there’s no need anymore!
In recent days, Ji Rui, overwheld by the excitent of the baby’s recovery, had long pushed the matter he entrusted CoCo to investigate into the back of his mind.
Now that the baby was saved, he no longer felt a need to know about that person, nor was there any point in it.
"Huh? Why?"
"CoCo, I’ve been too busy these days. The baby has already found a matching bone marrow, and we just completed the bone marrow transplant surgery this morning. The surgery was successful, so there’s no need to find that person anymore. Thank you, and I’ll pay you for your efforts."

"CoCo, the baby and I don’t have ti to host you. We’ll visit you later."
Ji Rui pressed his hand to his forehead, realizing that he had indeed gotten involved with her.
"Rui, are you breaking the bridge after crossing the river?" the woman jokingly chided.
Ji Rui’s thoughts were entirely focused on the information she ntioned, leaving him no interest in pacifying her. "CoCo, I’ll call you back later. I’m hanging up now."
With that, before she could say anything more, he hung up the phone, then swiftly took out his laptop and opened it.
In his email, sure enough, there was a new ssage from CoCo sent over ten minutes ago. Ji Rui moved the mouse to the email, hesitated for a mont, gritting his teeth, and finally decided to open it!
He had already prepared for the worst—that the baby’s mommy might be that woman CoCo, whom he had always regarded as a troublemaker.
However, upon opening the email, he nearly tossed the laptop aside in shock!
The information revealed that the baby’s biological mommy was even more shocking and infuriating than that crazy woman CoCo!
The baby’s biological mommy was, none other than, the woman who had been around him and the baby all along—Le Tong!
