"Doesn’t it say that when you’re old, you should rely on your children? Since the baby is here, I naturally have to follow!"

The man said it with such righteous conviction, not even glancing at the hoowner, as if this place was sowhere he could co and go as he pleased.

Le Tong’s forehead throbbed again in pain. Is this man’s face as thick as the Great Wall bricks?

Putting aside the fact that he’s not even old, isn’t that saying ant for elderly won? What gives him, a robust young man, the qualification to rely on a child?

Before Le Tong could voice her complaint, she heard the baby call from behind.

"Daddy!"

Ji Baby’s sweet voice not only forced Le Tong’s complaints back down her throat but also shattered her thought of wanting to slap this man away.

She gave him a fierce glare but still had to turn back helplessly, letting the man follow inside.

"Baby, did you miss Daddy?"

As soon as Ji Rui entered the house, he bent down to give the baby a kiss, which was more straightforward than usual. Normally, it was the baby hanging on him, repeatedly asking, "Daddy, did you miss the baby?"

The baby wasn’t the least surprised by his unusual behavior, with a knowing expression. Instead of exposing him, the baby cooperated by nodding earnestly, "I missed you!"

After kissing his son, Ji Rui straightened up, unbuttoned his suit like he was at ho, and tossed it casually onto the back of a chair.

Le Tong watched his continuous actions and nearly had a heart attack from anger.

"Mr. Ji..."

She was about to formally express her opinion as the hoowner when the man raised his hand, unbuttoning his cuffs while heading towards the bathroom.

"I’m going to wash my face first."

Well then, he really does treat this like his own ho!

Le Tong had seen this man’s shalessness before, but this ti, he had reached new heights.

Le Tong reached out to pat the baby’s head, then quickly followed him.

Ji Rui stood by the sink, with the water flowing continuously from the faucet.

Le Tong glanced carefully at the baby, seeing the little one happily eating, not looking their way at all.

But she still wasn’t reassured, ducking into the not-so-spacious bathroom and gently closing the door.

Ji Rui lifted his gaze slightly, silently watching her while his hands continued rubbing under the faucet.

Le Tong leaned over to turn off the faucet, resting her back against the bathroom door and folding her arms as she looked at Ji Rui.

"Mr. Ji, you’re not welco here."

Le Tong didn’t bother exchanging polite words with Ji Rui. After all, they didn’t know each other just today, and this wasn’t their first falling out. Both were smart enough that unnecessary politeness seed pointless.

Ji Rui glanced deeply at her without responding, turned his face away, and reached out to turn the faucet back on, washing his hands deliberately. Finally, he splashed so water on his face, blinked, pulled a tissue, and carefully wiped the droplets off his face.

Le Tong was so angry she could burst, but annoyingly, she couldn’t help finding his long, attractive fingers dabbing his face with the tissue very sexy. The droplets gliding down his cheeks, slipping past his chin, over his Adam’s apple... it was very alluring...

After taking his ti drying his face, Ji Rui calmly said, "I know you’re not welcoming , but I’m not comfortable with the baby alone."

Le Tong wanted to shout and curse but held back for the sake of her dear son. She gritted her teeth in frustration, having nowhere else to vent, and instead kicked him hard.

"You’ve seen him now, haven’t you? The baby is doing perfectly well, now get lost!"

With this, not only was she mad at him, but also at the part of herself that couldn’t help but swoon over his looks.

Surprisingly, Ji Rui neither dodged nor got annoyed, letting her kick him twice.

"Aren’t you afraid the baby will think we’re doing sothing inappropriate in here?"

Ji Rui pointed at the tightly closed door, speaking words that could provoke imagination, yet his face remained indifferent and expressionless.

Le Tong admitted defeat. Competing in calmness and stoicism, she was no match for this president who could freeze people with just a glance.

With negotiations completely failed, Le Tong could only yank the door open and storm out.

Back to the dining table in a few steps, Le Tong’s face softened to a gentle, motherly smile, "Baby, eat slowly, no one is fighting you for it."

While wiping the oil from the little guy’s mouth with a damp cloth as he tilted his head for her care, that man she wished to kick to another planet walked out looking refreshed. Without a word, he headed to the kitchen, grabbed a bowl and chopsticks, and returned with a bowl of rice, pulling up a small stool next to the baby.

Everything seed so natural, as though this was his ho.

Before the baby, who couldn’t speak of anything, Le Tong was so suffocated with frustration that she nearly went mad. anwhile, that man happily ate, stuffing his mouth and occasionally picking so dishes for the baby.

As the owner, Le Tong completely lost her appetite under his influence, wondering if the peaceful life she envisioned in her mind was now gone.

Actually, she didn’t ask for much, just to take good care of the baby, and once his health stabilized a bit, find any job in R City. Being able to see each other daily and exchange a few words would be imnse happiness for her.

Yet in every vision she painted, Ji Rui was never present, because his appearance in any scenario made Le Tong feel extrely discordant.

Where exactly was the discord, Le Tong couldn’t pinpoint, but it was indeed repulsive.

Being hurt so many tis, maintaining surface-level courtesy by treating him as a friend was already an achievent.

Moreover, pretending to coexist amicably under one roof with this man was another matter, making her discomfort understandable.

As for Ji Rui’s intentions, she could sowhat guess.

He likely wanted to maintain the mutually supportive and loving relationship they had when the baby was sick.

However, be it feelings or trust, these are fragile and easily broken things.

Building them is difficult; destroying them is easy.

A few days ago, Ji Rui shattered both with his own hands. Now wanting to repair them is just his wishful thinking—a sentint Le Tong no longer shares.

For her, maintaining basic politeness with Ji Rui in front of her dear son was her utmost limit.

Treating him as a superior like in the Ji Family? Impossible!

Treating him as an ally or even family like in the hospital? Even more so!

But this stubborn, slow-minded man didn’t seem to understand this, wanting to intrude into her life, not realizing that it only made her even more repelled!
