The next day at work, Ji Rui treated Le Tong with the sa indifference and aloofness as usual, as if nothing had happened the night before, nor did he ntion it.
Instead, it was Lawyer Fan who called Le Tong around noon.
"Miss Le, the police have thoroughly investigated the incident through surveillance footage. You are an innocent victim, and your actions were justified as self-defense, so you bear no criminal responsibility. As for that man, I will represent you in suing him for attempted robbery and sexual assault, and demand fifty thousand yuan in compensation for emotional damages. Le Tong had no objections, "No, thank you, Lawyer Fan!"
She had thought that the man would at most be detained for a few days. After all, she hadn’t suffered any substantial harm, and in fact, had also beaten the man, which eased so of her anger.
She was well aware that if Ji Rui hadn’t intervened by having Lawyer Fan help her, the police would not have risked offending that sleazy man who seed to have soone backing him just to release her.

Lawyer Fan, as the chief legal advisor for the Ji Family, had his law firm and did not regularly work at the Ji Family. Therefore, he wasn’t considered a formal employee of the Ji Family, and Le Tong had only t him a few tis, making their conversation very polite.
Le Tong understood the implication in Lawyer Fan’s words. If it weren’t for Ji Rui’s orders, Lawyer Fan wouldn’t have personally gone to the police station to handle such a minor issue for soone as insignificant as her.

Le Tong didn’t want to owe a favor. Although treating soone to a al seed sowhat cheap, it was probably the only gesture she could offer at the mont.

Apparently, Lawyer Fan hadn’t agreed, but she told a harmless little lie to make Ji Rui agree.
"Personal matters!"
Ji Rui remained unmoved, lowering his eyes to focus earnestly on the docunts again.
"President, then when will you have ti? I’ll talk to Lawyer Fan and reschedule?" Ji Tong, thick-skinned, stubbornly wouldn’t let go of Ji Rui.
Ji Rui glanced at Le Tong. Previously, he always thought she was timid and afraid of trouble, but now he realized she was actually quite bold, and her skin, quite thick.
"You can go with him, I’m not interested! Leave now!"
