Ji Rui has a quirk: when eating out, he never drinks anything but plain water. He never ntioned this quirk, but the attentive Le Tong noted it after just one dinner with him.

In fact, Ji Rui has many little habits and quirks unknown to most people, like never eating airplane food or onions...

Being a big man, he naturally wouldn’t ntion such small matters, and those around him, including his closest childhood friend Zhuo Jiarui or his several past secretaries, never paid attention to these quirks and habits.

Only Le Tong quietly noted his dislikes and kept them in her heart.

Perhaps it was this extraordinary attentiveness and consideration of Le Tong that made Ji Rui extrely comfortable working with her, even if he never said it aloud.

Before that drunken night of passion, in Ji Rui’s eyes, Le Tong was the most satisfactory among all his secretaries, even though she was the youngest and least experienced.

Lawyer Fan stared at Le Tong for a mont, then chuckled twice, "Miss Le is really considerate!"

Le Tong pretended not to understand the aning behind his chuckle, "I am Mr. Ji’s secretary, this is my job, it has nothing to do with being considerate."

She said this while touching the back of her hand to the water glass to check the temperature, then got up to hand it to Ji Rui.

Ji Rui silently took the water, popped the pill into his mouth, drank a large gulp, and swallowed it down.

"Since Mr. Ji is not feeling well, it’s okay for you to use tea instead of wine."

Le Tong took the empty glass Ji Rui handed over and also removed the wine in front of him. Ji Rui didn’t object, allowing Le Tong to take the wine glass and replace it with a steaming cup of tea.

Lawyer Fan observed all this but didn’t say anything.

The situation remained largely unchanged afterward, with the three of them eating and chatting. In reality, most of the conversation was Lawyer Fan talking, with Ji Rui occasionally responding briefly, while Le Tong quietly listened and ate, refilling their teacups and wine glasses as they emptied.

"Miss Le, I’ve heard you handle your drink well, care to join for a few glasses?"

Lawyer Fan had been carrying the conversation solo for a while and was sowhat tired, wanting to tease Le Tong a bit.

Le Tong indeed had a good capacity for alcohol but wasn’t greedy. However, since Lawyer Fan had helped her, she couldn’t refuse his request.

So, she drank two to three glasses with Lawyer Fan cheerfully, then declined more saying she wasn’t feeling well.

Lawyer Fan, evidently unconvinced, glanced at her sideways, "Mr. Ji has a headache; Miss Le, where are you feeling pain?"

"Stomachache." Le Tong would use this excuse whenever she didn’t want to drink.

Originally, she genuinely appreciated Lawyer Fan’s help, but after the al, she understood that if not for Ji Rui, Lawyer Fan wouldn’t have spared her a glance.

The dining atmosphere wasn’t quite lively, yet Le Tong ate heartily. After all, this al cost nearly two months of her rent; wouldn’t it be wasteful not to eat enough?

"Miss Le, didn’t you say you have a stomachache? Yet, you have quite an appetite!"

Lawyer Fan, accustod to the genteel dining habits of socialites, was astonished by Le Tong’s earnest feasting deanor.

"The stomachache is because I’m hungry." Le Tong explained, extending her chopsticks toward the half-eaten fish.

Sipping his tea, Ji Rui couldn’t help but smile slightly at the corners of his mouth.

A little after eight, after the al, the three stood at the hotel entrance as both Ji Rui’s and Lawyer Fan’s drivers quickly brought their cars around.

"Miss Le, would you like a ride ho?" Lawyer Fan leaned over to open his car door, gesturing invitingly.

Le Tong shook her head, "No need to trouble you, Lawyer Fan. I’ll take a taxi ho."

Saying that, she noticed an empty taxi in a nearby parking spot, bid farewell to Ji Rui and Lawyer Fan, and quickly jogged over to open the door and get in.

Standing alongside Ji Rui, Lawyer Fan watched thoughtfully as Le Tong got into the taxi, "This woman Le Tong..." wanting to say sothing but hesitating.

"Don’t get any ideas about her!" Ji Rui suddenly added, opening the car door, bending down to get in, and slamd the door shut, driving off like the wind.

Lawyer Fan stood dumbfounded at the hotel entrance, taking a mont to react, then wore a face of remorse, holding his forehead as he murmured to himself, "Oh no, did Mr. Ji misunderstand sothing?!"
